Angela’s journey in the pest control industry began with Amalgamated Pest Control. However, her passion for learning and adapting to new trends led her to establish her own business, Team Pestee, in 2020, amidst the Covid pandemic. Angela’s son who has been in the industry for five years, and her husband, who has a decade of experience, also work for Team Pestee. Angela considers herself fortunate to have a family whose lives revolve around pest control. Working from a home office is a fortunate opportunity for Angela. She is a multi-tasker in the office, juggling various roles all by herself. Once you get to know her, you’ll notice her unique approach to handling tasks. Angela’s daily routine involves meticulously going through emails, browsing social media platforms, and reviewing the previous day’s tasks on their CRM to ensure that all jobs are completed. Angela takes pride in her work and values customer feedback, whether it’s positive or negative. She believes that constructive criticism is essential for improving their family-run business and is always eager to learn from mistakes. Over the past decade, Angela has had the good fortune of working with several pest control companies. This experience has allowed her to discern effective methods from ineffective ones and incorporate the former into her own business.

Angela is an ardent advocate for her neighbourhood. She has a deep affection for her community, which she has made the wise choice of relocating to the flourishing Jimboomba region. Angela was determined to bring a unique approach to the table, so she conducted extensive research on pricing and aimed to create a business that exuded a family atmosphere. Having worked for larger corporations that lacked a sense of warmth and camaraderie, Angela was determined to establish a company that connected with the community on a personal level. She wanted to ensure that her business was not just another faceless entity, but a genuine part of the community.

During the recent floods that hit the area, the Team Pestee family found themselves in a fortunate position compared to others who were cut off from essential supplies. However, Angela, being the kindhearted person she is, took it upon herself to visit the supermarket and prepare food for those who were not as lucky. She made sure to drop off the food to those in need. In addition to her selfless act of kindness, Angela also organised for Team Pestee to provide complimentary treatments for the food bank as a way of giving back to the community. They also participated in events for local associations and sponsor certain events and sports clubs. When Angela talks about these community events, it is evident that she derives more satisfaction from them than the recipients do. The acts of service truly make her feel good.

Angela is a fearless individual who values the power of self-expression and believes in the significance of speaking one’s mind. Her involvement with Women in Pest Management has inspired her to step out of her comfort zone and take on new challenges. Angela strongly advocates for the idea of supporting one’s competitors. She believes that the day’s of keeping secrets from others in the same industry are long gone. Instead, she encourages the sharing of knowledge and collaboration among peers.

Angela’s passion for the pest industry stems from her love for the customers. She takes pleasure in discussing the repulsiveness of rats and spiders and reassuring them that everything will be alright. Her expert opinion and assistance make her feel valuable and productive as a nurse, as she genuinely believes she is helping people.
