Membership Engagement
The huge role that this year's marketer and members will have to play in increasing and maintaining Key Club at Plano East Senior High School.
Since 2019, Plano East Key Club has incorporated a marketer spot on the officer team. The job responsibilities of the marketer include designing and developing club advertising, taking photos during meetings and volunteer events, helping design t-shirts, managing the club’s Instagram account, and sending out messages on Remind.

This year’s marketer is Kayla Ngo who already has some experience in graphic publishing and plans to be active on the Plano East Key Club Instagram Page by reaching out to followers and students from Plano East feeder schools such as McMillen High School and Williams High School. Social media is going to play a big part in recruiting new members this 2020-2021 school year due to the popularity of such platforms among students 9th through 12th grade and also because of the easy accessibility to information through this way.

Returning members of Plano East Key Club have found a family and extended our family is a huge goal this year. At Plano East, Key Club is an underdog in terms of service clubs, but many members have expressed interest in spreading the word of Key Club to friends that are entering 11th grade of the IB program in 9th grade. Sanjana Pemmeraju has been a part of Key Club for the past year and counting. Pemmeraju has plans to share Key Club to lowerclassmen and new students by “telling them about the value of service.” In terms of numbers, last year’s membership count was about seventy students, and this year we hope to see an increase of about ten to twenty percent as the school year progresses into the Spring.
