side of the living area to give it the separation required from the minor bedrooms. It opens to the front porch to enhance the Warren’s holiday-at-home ambience. As well as including a double garage, the design makes provision for the storage of holiday essentials such as a boat or caravan. Summit North West is inviting buyers to take advantage of its “build now, pay later” promotion. “Summit North West will build their new home and they won’t need to make any mortgage repayments until handover,” Brett says. “The promotion was devised from the knowledge that many people in the North-West are challenged financially when undertaking the purchase of their new home given the price of rents and cost of living in these locations.” The builder also offers turnkey solutions so that the home is ready to move into, complete with painting inside and out, floor coverings and window treatments. HOOSING a steel-framed home could mean you’re enjoying the laid-back lifestyle of Jurien Bay quicker than you think. “Steel-framed homes can be built much faster than cavity-brick homes and they achieve a much higher energy rating without any further adjustments required to the construction process,” says Brett Garrett, general manager at Summit North West. On display in the Beachridge estate in Jurien Bay, the Warren is a steel-framed home where lifestyle and family living go hand in hand. As with all homes built by Summit North West, this four-bedroom contemporary design achieves a minimum 7-star energy rating. The design also takes into account the need for considered orientation so that the home is protected from strong winds from the southwest. “We have been able to successfully design the Warren to take advantage of the cooling sea breeze while offering protective areas for year-round entertaining,” Brett says. While the Warren can easily be replicated as it is, the builder anticipates it will also be used as the starting point for a host of individually designed homes for retirees, families and those looking for a holiday hideaway. “We tend to view our display homes as inspiration centres for people,” Brett says. With its extensive wraparound front porch and rear alfresco, the Warren certainly includes plenty of space for outdoor living. Reflecting the Beachridge building design guidelines, the front porch also promotes opportunities to say “g’day” to the neighbours. “At the heart of the estate design guidelines is the philosophy of encouraging interaction among the community while maintaining the natural landscape and reducing water usage along the way,” Brett says. Complementing its beachside location, the Warren has a relaxed coastal charm with openplan living areas for the family and a kids’ zone with an activity room. Ceilings throughout the home are 2.7m high to add to the feeling of spaciousness and help making cooling the home easier, while the floor plan has been devised with sensible zoning in mind. “The Warren offers distinct accommodation areas with the living zone acting as the central hub,” Brett says. “Effectively, this allows for certain areas to be shut off when not in use.” Anchored by a smart contemporary kitchen that features Q-Stone benchtops, stainless steel appliances and coloured-glass splashbacks, the living area leads straight out to the alfresco. The master bedroom, with its walk-in wardrobe and ensuite, has been positioned to one
