A celebration of work made over the course of a year-long creative project by members of Newhall Creative Collective.
Each Wednesday afternoon, a group of around ten people met at Chrysanthemum Court, Newhall. They drank tea, ate cake, laughed, chatted and made art! Working with professional artists, the group learnt lots of different artforms, including fused glass, print making, photography, felt making, willow weaving film making and silk painting (to name a few!).
The project was designed for people who didn’t have much confidence to take part in the arts, with group members who never thought they would be able to make artwork to be proud of. But now see for yourself the inspiring and beautiful work they have produced!
The project was supported by People Express, a professional participatory arts organisation based in Swadlincote and funded by an Awards for All grant from The Big Lottery Fund.
