Participating practices include: Pen Bay Family Medicine (serving current patients 18+), call 207-301-5900 to schedule an appointment; Pen Bay Internal Medicine (serving current patients 18+),call 207-301-5800 to schedule an appointment; and Pen Bay Pediatrics (serving current patients 6 months and older), call 207-301-5600 to schedule an appointment. Please bring your insurance cards with you. Cooking Matters at the Store Monday, Oct. 3, noon to 1 p.m. Virtual Class Want to learn how to stretch your dollars at the store? This class provides a culinary-enhanced nutrition education program that teaches participants how to plan, budget and shop for meals that are healthy, tasty and low in cost. All participants will receive a recipe booklet and a $10 Hannaford gift card. This class is free but preregistration is required in order to obtain virtual access. WCGH Drive-Thru Flu Clinics Tuesdays, Oct. 4, 11, 18 & 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 125 Northport Ave., Belfast Waldo County General Hospital offers weekly drive-thru flu clinics, open to adults and children 3+. Most insurances accepted; please bring your insurance cards. Self-pay will be billed an amount to be determined after the final cost of the vaccine is known. Standard and high dose flu shots will be offered. No appointment necessary.

Alzheimer's Disease Support Group Tuesday, Oct, 4, 6:00 p.m. Virtual Meeting The Alzheimer’s Support Group provides free information and support to area residents who have loved ones coping with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Currently the group is meeting via Zoom. Free. Those interested in participating should contact Cheri R. Blouin, LSW, at 301-6237 or at cheri.blouin@mainehealth.org for the meeting details. Take a Break with Guided Meditation Wednesdays, Oct. 5, 12 & 26, noon to 12:30 p.m. Virtual class Making time in your day to recharge can be as simple as tuning in for as much of this short meditation break as you can. The class will begin with a 15 to 20 minute guided meditation, followed by five minutes of silent meditation and a brief time for reflections and questions. Happy Wanderers Hiking Group: Long Cove Headwaters Thursday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to noon Long Cove Headwaters Preserve, Savery Rd., Searsport Coastal Mountains Land Trust and Journey to Health are pleased to offer monthly guided hikes, free and open to all ability levels. This hike is 1.2 miles (but can be made longer) and is easy. The hike will be led by CMLT staff members and a PBMC Community Health Improvement team member. Belfast Public Health Free Flu Clinic Thursday, Oct. 6, noon to 6 p.m. Belfast Boathouse, 34 Commercial St., Belfast Belfast Public Health Nursing hosts a free flu shot clinic for uninsured Belfast residents. The clinic is open to adults 18+. No appointment necessary. Concussion Support Group Tuesday, Oct. 18, noon to 1 p.m. Virtual meeting Healing from a brain injury takes a long time. Join facilitator Moriah Hersey, OTD, OTR/L, for this informative and interactive support group where you can share your struggles with concussion; learn more about concussions, treatment and outcomes; and connect with others who have had similar experiences.
