1. Cerveteri The Necropolis of the “Banditaccia” covers an archaeological area of 10 hectares with nearly 400 Etruscan burials carved out of volcanic rocks and dating from 8th Century b.C. to 3rd-2nd Century b.C. Take a walk trough the site, immerse in a relaxed natural environment and visit its Museum.
2. Sutri Sutri is well-known for its impressive amphitheatre carved into the volcanic rock as well as for the Etruscan and Roman tombs along the Via Francigena (the medieval pilgrim route to Rome) and the Mitreo, a former Etruscan burial then turned into a pagan temple dedicated to Mitra and finally into a Christian church.
