Perry Art Park Installation Completed! Friends of Perry Park is happy to announce that the two remaining sculptures, “Alas IV” by Betty Gold and “Blue Float” by Peter Reginato, were installed in Perry Art Park in early February. The first sculpture, “Dayton,” by Jim Huntington was installed in the park in November 2015. All artworks are on loan from The Contemporary Austin. Jim Huntington was born in Illinois in 1941 and started working in stone in 1971. In 1994, he moved from New York City to Coupland, TX, where in 2000 he established a sculpture garden and studio, which is open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to stroll the grounds, enter and experience the interior spaces of some of the larger scale pieces. . Betty Gold was born in 1935 in Austin, TX, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and the University of Texas at Austin. She is an established, internationally known professional artist who has shown in over one hundred thirty solo and group exhibitions and who currently has work in more than seventy-five permanent collections around the world. Peter Reginato was born in Dallas, TX, in 1945 and grew

up in the Bay Area, CA. He studied at San Francisco Art Institute and taught at Hunter College. The artist's many honors include a Guggenheim fellowship and scores of solo gallery and museum exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad. Friends of Perry Park oversaw this project, which is supported by a grant from Austin Parks Foundation and donations from the HPWBANA Board and many local businesses and neighbors. The project was completed in partnership with Austin PARD, The Contemporary Austin and Art in Public Places.
