honored America’s fallen heroes one day before Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president. Trump also visited Section 60, speaking with Gold Star families of service members killed in Afghanistan, fulfilling his promise to honor military sacrifice.

Trump shutters CBP One app in first-day border security push

Monday, shutting down the CBP One mobile application as part of his administration’s immediate actions to secure the southern border.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed the removal of the scheduling functionality within the app effective noon on Inauguration Day, canceling all previously scheduled appointments in a

policy shift that directs border officials to return to case-by-case parole determinations. President Trump also signed a proclamation January 20 declaring a border “invasion,” suspending illegal alien entry under Article IV powers. “The Federal Government has failed,” Trump stated in the document. The action directs repelling migrants, fulfilling his promise to “seal the border on Day 1.”

“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and universally admired,” Trump said of his former campaign manager. “She will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again.”

The groundbreaking appointment shatters yet another glass ceiling in American politics.

Trump visits hurricane-ravaged North Carolina, pledges swift recovery

President trumP made his first triP as the 47th president to North Carolina on January 24, surveying damage from Hurricane Helene and promising rapid assistance to affected communities.

“You are not forgotten any longer,” Trump told residents during his visit to Swannanoa. “We’re going to get you the resources you need and the support that you deserve.”

The president toured damaged areas and met with families who lost homes when the hurricane struck in September 2024, killing 104 North Carolinians and severely damaging 73,000 homes.

Trump announced plans to mobilize the Army Corps of Engineers to repair riverbanks and roads, while criticizing the previous administration’s disaster response efforts.

“We’re going to fix it, and we’re going to fix it as fast as you can,” Trump said while visiting affected neighborhoods alongside First Lady Melania Trump.

Bondi vows to restore Justice Department integrity

Pam b ondi was sworn in as U.S. Attorney General on February 5, 2025, by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. President Trump, attending the White House ceremony, praised Bondi’s commitment to “fair justice.”

“I will restore integrity to the Justice Department,” Bondi promised. The Senate confirmed her 54-46.

Bondi, formerly Florida’s Attorney General, is the first female Republican-nominated Attorney General.

Trump proposes US ownership of Gaza Strip during Netanyahu visit

President trumP welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House, proposing bold new solutions for regional stability. During their joint press conference, Trump revealed plans for the United States to take ownership of Gaza and develop it economically.

“We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings,” Trump declared, fulfilling his promise to pursue innovative Middle

East peace strategies.

Netanyahu, the first foreign leader to visit during Trump’s second term, praised the president’s approach, calling it “thinking outside the box with fresh ideas” and showing “willingness to puncture conventional thinking.”

The bilateral meeting focused on the Gaza ceasefire, counterterrorism efforts, and strategies to address Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Trump also signed executive orders implementing maximum pressure on Iran and withdrawing from certain UN organizations.

Trump delivers on trade promises with ‘Liberation Day’ tariffs

President donald trumP declared aPril 2 “Liberation Day,” announcing a 10% universal tariff on imports while exempting Canada and Mexico. The measure fulfills his campaign pledge to level the global trading field.

“Access to the American market is a privilege, not a right,” Trump stated as he issued an executive order imposing the baseline tariff effective April 5, with additional “reciprocal” tariffs beginning April 9.

The president emphasized his commitment to fair trade, saying the policy simply asks other countries to “treat us like we treat them. It’s the Golden Rule for Our Golden Age.”

Economic analysis cited by the White House projects the 10% tariff will “grow the economy by $728 billion, create 2.8 million jobs, and increase real household incomes by 5.7%.”

The order maintains USMCA trade agreements with Canada and Mexico while targeting nations with significant trade deficits against the United States.
