Dear Parents, We look forward to working with your family in another year of great success and growth. This is our fifty-seventh year, and we continue to be blessed with a great faculty and administration who have remained stable for many years. I am happy to report that all permitting is finally in place for the new Natural Play Yard. The Natural Play Yard will provide children more opportunities to develop gross-motor skills than typical pre-formed playgrounds. Research shows that a good outdoor play area and contact with nature has been associated with a number of health benefits for children, such as improved cognitive function, increased creativity, enriched interaction with adults, reduced attention deficit hyperactivity disorder symptoms and reduced rates of aggression. The faculty worked during the summer to come up with some play alternatives for the first few months of school including the Noah’s Park indoor playground, covered playground, gathering area for ramps and Room 1239 for sports and games. We still need additional funding for this project in order to fulfill our dream of a state of the art natural play space for the children. Families will soon receive a copy of the plans and possibilities for financial and in-kind donations. We look forward to beginning construction in the next few weeks! Best regards, Jane
