Welcome To Peach Days 2013!
Welcome to our 15th annual “Peach Days: A Celebration of our Heritage”. In 1999 when we first started our “new” Peach Days, there were skeptics that thought the community would not back this event. But they were pleasantly surprised! It was a hit from the beginning, and has continued to grow and become a favorite of people all over the county. Today we have returning world-wide visitors! Peach Days had been a part of Hurricane almost from its beginning when it started as the “Fruit Festival” and a way to market the valley fruit. It soon took on the name of “Peach Days” and eventually the County asked Hurricane to make Peach Days the Washington County Fair. When the fair outgrew little Hurricane and the county moved the fair to the new Regional Park, Hurricane missed their community celebration. Soon plans were made for a new Peach Days. The first year was an incredible hit. The crowds were large, the participation inspiring, and the skeptics silenced! Fifteen years later we are grateful for the participation and enjoyment the community gives this fun filled weekend. We are happy as a committee to see this annual event so well loved. Its permanent home at the Community Center brings fond memories of the days when it was the Hurricane
Elementary with the old High School across the street. There is something for all ages at Peach Days. We hope you will come and enjoy the displays and food or commercial booths, wander through the Pioneer Corner, gather candy at the best parade in the county, and enjoy the amazing local entertainment throughout this two day event. New this year will be a “Hurricane’s Got Talent” contest and a Pickleball Tournament. As always there is the Peach Days Rodeo, Movie in the Park, Peach Cook-off, or Candy Cannon. Food contests, Quilt Show or Camp, and kids’ activities also guarantee fun for all the family. You can have a good time without spending a dime, or bring a few dollars and add to the enjoyment. We are so thrilled to have you once again join us at what has become the biggest event in the Hurricane Valley. Come and visit with old friends, make some new ones, stroll down the lane of nostalgia, and be a part of our Peach Days Celebration! See you there!
