You’re an innovator

It’s true. Your generosity is the very heart of everything we do at PeaceHealth Southwest to innovate and elevate the best possible cancer care for our community. Just this year, we celebrated the installation of a new and advanced linear accelerator (LINAC) — largely thanks to you. The process, which included decommissioning our former LINAC machine and updating its housing facility, took six months and $6 million. But together, we made it happen! What this means for our community is that state-of-the-art technology will always be available for our patients — leading to better outcomes and more lives saved. You helped make this possible, WOW!

Our new LINAC machine offers the latest technology available today, enabling:

> Reduced radiation doses to the heart for women with left-sided breast cancers.

> Accurate tumor tracking capability during respiration.

> Advanced Imaging to increase precision tumor targeting.

With the help of generous community members like you, we’re able to launch a number of innovative care services that support cancer patients every step of the way, including our latest Cancer Transitions: Moving Beyond Treatment program.

By addressing many of the physical, social and practical issues people may face as they transition from cancer treatment to survivorship, this specialized program focuses on enhancing quality of life through valuable lifestyle skills and social support. Cancer Transitions is committed to partnering with survivors of any cancer diagnosis who have completed treatment within the last 24 months.

Because of your philanthropic investments, the program’s multi-faceted approach is already making a deep impact for loved ones on their journey through life after cancer. Support services span four key areas:

• Eating well and staying active

• Emotional health

• Managing your medical story beyond cancer
