Welcome to the 9th Annual No Borders Select Sale This is the 9th year that breeders from Saskatchewan and Manitoba have come together with a great offering of breeding females. There is excellent quality, proven producing females, along with bred heifers that can become cornerstones of a breeding program. The cross section of heifer calves also has great depth with some that could be competitive with a show halter, and then become great cows. There are whites, tans and reds for you to choose from, and a lot featuring pick of the High Bluff bred heifers again this year. The consignors are dedicated breeders, many who have been in the business for many decades and will stand behind the quality they are offering from the heart of their programs. As a testament to the quality over the years, cattle have sold into seven provinces and six States. Yes, there is something for everyone here and this year we will broadcast live on DLMS again. Book your room early at the Jay’s Inn and Suites hotel and if you have trouble getting one, ask for one under the No Borders block or contact us to get one booked for you. There is truly an endless opportunity in the Charolais breed and we encourage you to come and join these exciting times with us. The bull market is expanding and Charolais is picking up market share with the Charcross calves topping the market again. You are welcome to view the sale cattle the day before when they move into the auction market, or the morning of the sale. If we can be of any assistance before the sale to facilitate your purchasing, please don’t hesitate to contact us, any of the consignors, or sale staff. We are excited to offer the pick of the HBSF 2019 born females at this year’s No Borders Select Female sale. We have 20 bred heifers to chose from, bred to bulls that are proven to work on our females: D R Monsoon 45, DC LHK Artemis E1295P and an exciting new herdsire CCC Tried and True 8507 P. They say you have to sell the good ones so here is the opportunity to own a bred heifer that we think a great deal of. We haven’t sold many females off the Rolex 2E bull, as we have kept them to ourselves. She is bred to our newest herdbull, JWX Goodwill 1809G. He is a son of Slugger that we are excited to add to our herd. This heifer’s mother is a daughter of JS Navajo Red 15X and did an excellent job on this her first calf.

Beautiful udder, good feet, big deep ribbed with a very stylish heifer calf at side. If you’re going to sell females, they need to be from the top end of the pen. Lynsey was definitely picked from the top end of our first calf heifers and a hard one to let go. 821F’s dam, is a top producing cow here at HTA. 821F’s maternal sister, 635D is becoming a favourite very quickly. 821F is bred to SHSH High Class 43D for an end of Jan calf. When we decided to offer a pair to sell, we went out and selected a pair that was the most complete. 33H is a twin to another heifer calf that was sold to a neighbour with a commercial cattle herd and fostered onto a cow that lost her calf. Not surprising, he plans to keep her as a breeding female in his program. 33H is a sweetheart and has a very attractive, feminine look to her. Bonus, she is an Astroid. Astroid is homo polled and Leptin TT. His dam, 704T, received the Dam of Excellence Award this year, this award recognizes females that have produced 10 consecutive registered calves that have attained a 205-day index of 100.0 or more. The Sonja cow family is one of the best at HTA with longevity built in with 9115G’s grandmother, 5114R, producing in our herd until she was 14 years of age. Her dam is the same type. Looking through our bull sale catalogue and see how many of our top end bulls are/were out of the Sonja cows. To make it even better, she is an Astroid. 9115G showcases how Astroid does just a good of a job making females as he does bulls. We know Sonja will do big things at her new home.

Sired by Astroid and out of a Remington daughter – a exciting combination. Anyone that knows our program knows we used Remington hard in our herd for many years for good reason. Astroid’s calving ease and growth are impressive. We are humbled by the way his bull calves have been received in the industry and the females are proving to be every bit as good and all with great udders. To top it off, Glitter comes with Astroid’s docile temperament. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to add these genetics to your herd.
