elcome to the Elder Charolais 12th Annual Bull Sale Once again, we have turned another calendar year and welcome you to our 12th Annual Bull Sale. It has certainly been a year of Agricultural challenges for the cattlemen and women, as well as the grain farmers clear across this country. From the wildfires, to the floods and the drought, there has been an overwhelming need to work together for the survival of our industry. We were fortunate enough to be able to cut some hay and harvest some crops, with the hope that this year brings some much-needed moisture to the area. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that participated in any way in our 11th Annual Bull Sale, as well as supporting our offerings of females, embryos and semen. Your support confirms our belief that our program has something to offer the industry, in a positive way. On the weekend, when we started reviewing the to-do list for the catalogue, it was +2 and raining. Today, February 2nd, as the pen hits the paper; it is -21 and -28 wind chill. Gotta love living in Saskatchewan. We believe that we have a solid set of bulls in the pen this year, with a large selection of sire groups to choose from. We have utilized a considerable amount of our home raised genetics in this group of bulls that are sired off top selling bulls in previous bull sales. We are confident these bulls will go out and perform for you. As well, we also have our herd sires from previous years that we trust will meet your needs. And we have a New Boy on the block; CML Raindance 996G. We are proud to present this large selection of genetics and believe they will provide something for everyone. Our goal remains unchanged in how we handle our breeding program. That is to ensure the end result is providing top quality bulls, with calving ease, performance and lots of muscle and good bone, with strong testicle development, lots of hair and most importantly, really good dispositions. Bulls that will go out and get the job done for you and provide return on your investment. It was obvious this fall again, that the Charolais sired calves brought a premium around the country. Whether through the auction barns or private online sales, there has never been a better time to own Charolais sired calves. With
the margins getting tighter and tighter, with the price of fuel, equipment, and land, now is the time to look at using a Charolais bull and put a little more profit in your pocket. If you are unfamiliar with our program, our bulls are on a TMR ration consisting of barley silage, hay, and 14% pellets with a chelated mineral package. Our bulls are not pushed and on average gain 3.6 lb per day to enhance longevity. Our bull guarantee is real simple! If something ever happens (which unfortunately things do happen out in the pasture), a simple phone call and we will do our very best to get those cows bred for you! Once again, we have video footage on the bulls to provide an opportunity, for you to view our bull pen on-line prior to the sale. The bulls will be sold on sale day by video, so if time permits, please arrive early, and we will be more than happy to go through the bull pens with you to answer any questions you may have. elcome to the Elder Charolais 12th Annual Bull Sale. Over the years, this program has produced some outstanding herdsires that have gone on to make their mark in the industry, not just in Canada, but around the world. The quality of bulls in their pen will impress the most discriminating cattlemen, with lots of hair, shape, performance, and structural soundness, that will still calve well. You are also dealing with a great family that will stand behind their product, as witnessed by the number of repeat customers that come back year after year. The calves from these bulls will put you in the top sort pens and be market toppers, as they have been for Elders in their own commercial herd. They know what works for the cow/calf producer to be profitable. There are some herdsire prospects that should go into breeder herds, as they will give you the soundness and eye appeal that will improve the quality of genetics in your cowherd and what you market for years to come. Last year, the high selling bull of the spring in Canada came out of this sale, but there are bulls that will fit everyone’s budget and needs. View the videos online and you will see what I mean. We acquired Commissioner from Wienk Charolais, of Lake Preston, South Dakota. His calves are all long in the spine, solid square hip, nice head, lots of hair and a good temperament. Commissioner is one of the easiest calving bulls we have had in our bull pen to date. He follows it up with performance. Commissioner sired the Reserve Grand Champion Female, as well as the Sr. Bull Calf Champion, at Farmfair 2019 in Edmonton.

Heifer Bull Alert! Jambalaya is a complete WCR Commissioner son. With a 77 lb birth weight, he will be a great asset to any heifer pen. KLR 9109G is a real nicely made, Blackjack daughter with a great udder. Jambalaya has a super nice head, with a clean front end, tied nice into those front shoulders. It makes him a big time heifer bull prospect without sacrificing performance. The Blackjack/Commissioner cross has worked very well here over the past few years.

TERMS & CONDITIONS Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable immediately after the sale in Canadian funds. All settlements must be made with the sale clerks before cattle will be released. The right of property will not pass until final payment is made. Bidding: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale. Disputes: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision is final. Announcements: Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements. Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left with the seller must be insured. Certificate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made. Delivery: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. The purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk. Breeder Guarantee - Bulls: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be

breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. Exception Guarantee: In case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property. By Livestock is only acting as a medium between the buyer and seller and is not responsible for failure on the part of either party to live up to their obligations; or for the truth of any warrantees or representations, expressed or implied. By Livestock assumes no obligation to enforce or collect monies between parties. By Livestock assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. Any legal action taken in exceptional cases must be between the buyer and the seller. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfilment of all guarantees and representations.
