C3. Final detail model

In order to reflect the parametric variation and modular nature of my design, the chosen detail models are genuine formalistic explorations of the hexagonal extrusions.

Additionally, exploring concrete itself has allowed me to understand the serious impact of water on the concrete mix, as well as its tendency to flake and fail under certain conditions. This has been a very valuable tectonic exploration.

These modular elements can be manipulated simply by controlling the degree of concrete that is poured within its respective mould. Consequently, the height of the extrusion can be directly manipulated to a height of up to two metres. The effect of this is that the user within the 303-pillar space feels engulfed and in a private space -- further breaking down what is considered to be private and public demarcation of boundaries.
