In fact, the Hilton Head IslandBluffton Chamber of Commerce recently named Forsythe as its “Small Business of the Year.”

Storeowner Andrea Bragg keeps Forsythe on-trend by traveling the world to meet personally with designers and see firsthand where and how the items she chooses for the showcases are made. As a member of The American Gem Society, Forsythe takes pride in being part of a small percentage of jewelry stores in the world dedicated to high standards of professional ethics and education.

For many locals, Forsythe is their “neighborhood” jewelry store where they are warmly greeted by name. For first-time visitors, the shop is the perfect backdrop for choosing a gift to remember their Hilton Head vacation. ilton Head Island’s trusted source for designer jewelry, Forsythe Jewelers has been in Sea Pines Center since its inception in the 1980s.

Since the beginning, owner Andrea Bragg said, the shop has focused on the top names in design.

“Forsythe Jewelers specializes in top name brand jewelry designers including Roberto Coin, David Yurman, LAGOS, Marco Bicego, Gabriel, John Hardy and GURHAN. We have clients from all around the world who are brand-loyal who come back and shop with us because of the variety

of designers and the large selection of product we carry.”

Every designer has unique qualities. Italian designer Roberto Coin was the first designer line that Forsythe carried. His collections of 18-karat yellow, white and rose-gold pieces highlight themes of romance, elegance and nature. Bragg feels that it is important to develop a partnership with the brand and designer; in fact, when Coin visited Forsythe Jewelers five years ago, he invited her to have dinner with he and his wife at their home in Italy. Bragg said it’s these long-standing, personal ties to the creative minds behind the jewelry that allow Forsythe to stay in the know — and helps them advise their clients on how to cultivate their own sense of style.

“We encourage our clients to experiment with combining different brands,” Bragg said.

Here, a few other members of the knowledgeable Forsythe staff share their fashion-forward tips: Barb Panciera: Don’t overlook David Yurman’s gold pieces. Customers know David Yurman for his sterling and mixed metal chunky pieces, but often are surprised at the yellow gold line that’s available. Lindsey Clare: Mix and match. The biggest trend in jewelry seems to be the stacking of rings, bracelets and necklaces.

Most women have jewelry that means a lot to them, but it needs to be repurposed so that they wear them more often.

We can add pieces to stack to give them a different look.

Laurie McKenzie: Since rings take a lot of wear and tear, I like to suggest having a variety of different rings to coordinate with different outfits or events. A variety of colored stones, silver, gold, or diamond styles make it easy to select a choice to accentuate personal style and fashion.

A new ring is always a great addition to anyone’s jewelry wardrobe.

Rebecca Lovette: Many customers don’t realize that we offer a service to change or modernize older jewelry into something new and usable. I’m assisting with the design of about five projects currently, all using heirloom items as precious as a grandfather’s class ring and stones from family jewelry.

INTRODUCING PAL AZZO DUCALE One of Roberto Coin’s newest collections, Palazzo Ducale, was inspired by the Doge’s Palace in Venice, Italy where the designer himself is originally from.

The Doge’s Palace is a beautiful, ornate palace and is a focal point in Venice, just as these pieces of jewelry are when they enter a room. The Doge’s Palace inspired the use of geometric shapes and the layering of materials and colors in this collection.

It also harnesses the chiaroscuro marble and stone decoration that is typical of Venetian Gothic architecture. The exterior of the Doge’s Palace is a light pink color from the pink Verona marble that constructs the sides of the palace, this is the reason rose gold is used frequently in the Palazzo Ducale collection.

The Doge’s Palace is one of Roberto Coin’s favorite architectural landmarks in Italy, which is why Palazzo Ducale is a special collection that was designed with much consideration and care. This collection pays close attention to detail in each ring, necklace, and bracelet. This 8th century palace has been added on to and rebuilt many times throughout the years, each time with just as much detail as the original architecture. In old Venetian culture, an extravagant and elaborate palace represented luxury and wealth. Palazzo Ducale bestows all of these features along with elegance and beauty.

For the past 52 years Hilton Head has rolled out the “plaid

carpet” to welcome thousands of visitors to the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. This annual event, which takes place each April, has been played at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Sea Pines since 1969 and is the only PGA TOUR event in South Carolina.

Since 2009, Forsythe Jewelers has teamed up with Roberto Coin to host a “pop-up shop” during the event. The “shop” offers the latest designs and collections from the Italian designer and is located next to the tournament’s newest venue, MEIOMI Wine Lounge.

Situated under the pines between the first and ninth holes, MEIOMI Wine Lounge is an upscale destination where tournament attendees can enjoy a premium glass of wine while watching the action on the video board. The area provides the right atmosphere to sit, sip and shop during the tournament.
