I really hope you read and enjoyed issue #48 which featured Furr on the cover. That issue was very different than any other issue that we have ever published, we only featured DJ interviews. Our magazine had always featured pictures covering events that we had attended, and interviews with DJs and artists. We do plan on bring you event coverage soon, but in the mean time, we thought we would start off we getting to know several of the DJs that are rocking your favorite events, and going viral on social media as well.

In this issue, we feature an interview with Latin EDM superstar DJ/Producer Chan, and with the Venezuelan sensation Pedro El Rapero.

As always, thank you for your support, really means a lot to us. Please continue spreading the good word about us, and if you have missed the past issues, make sure you check them out on our website at:

A few years back I was walking thru my local pulga (flea market) in San Bernardino, CA when I first heard a bang'n EDM remix of La Chona booming out of some speakers with some red and blue flashing lights, everyone in that swap meet started to dance to this banger like they were at the baile, it was almost like an organized flash mob lol. I had to go to the booth and ask who that remix was by, the old man had no clue, said mi hijo puts these flash drives together for me lol, I said, cuanto, he said, trae mil canciones, se lo dejo en veinte dollars senor, y le dije deme uno. Then I started seeing Chan pop-up all over Instagram and Tiktok playing that remix of La Chona. It truly impressed me to see what started off as a remix that he made, is now something that has become its own sub-genre of music, Latin EDM. Me da gran honor to be able to entrevistar and get to conocer the man himself, Chan.

Donde naciste, where were you raised, and where do you currently live?

I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and currently still living here in Milwaukee.

Wow, Milwaukee, home of the Miller Brewing Company.

What or quien got you interesado en becoming a DJ, tu Tio, and how old were you?

It was mi tio that got me interested in DJing, I used to help him download all of the English songs for whenever he would have a gig, and I actually DJ’d with him twice and one time I messed up so bad but luckily, I recovered myself. I think I was in fifth grade, so I was about ten or eleven years old.

Que viva tu tio pachangero!

So, your tio got you interested in DJ’ing, tell us a little more about him, anyone who watches your videos can see that he is an influence in what you do, and did you really use his voice on some of your tracks?

Well honestly the reason why I use “mi tio” it's just a character I decided to make because, we all have that one tio and it can be any type of tio. The drunk tio, the boring tio, the tio that gives you your Domingo, or the cool tio. But I mean the whole tio aspect has influenced me to create a community with all my Latino fans because they know they have that one tio as well. I’ve never actually used mi tio’s voice on any of my tracks, it's just a marketing tactic.

Well, it seems like your fans have fallen in love with not only you, but also with your tio, so great job.

Who are some Artists, DJs, Producers que te inspiran to make and play puro pachagan bangers?

Well, I do have to give a shoutout to my homie, compa, el jefe Deorro, you know I’ve been looking up to him ever since he was DJ Ton!c because he is Latino and also making EDM music. And now he is blending both genres and creating a bigger community with the Latinos just how I am doing. It's also crazy that I can now call him a friend, so it's super crazy how life works sometimes. Another one would have to be another homie of mine, RayBurger, we are always exchanging new ideas, music, marketing, remixes and so on. He is another Latino DJ/ Producer in the game killing it as well. And I think a big thing as well that I would have to say is my parents,

growing up they are always jamming out to music like if there's a cookout, or its Saturday morning and it's time to clean. Music plays a big role in my life and hearing all their music helped me know what the pachanga bangers are for the Latinos.

Wow, you took it was back by mentioning DJ Ton!c, yes Deorro has come a long way, and is shinning light on Latin music worldwide. And we defiantly must check out your boy RayBurger.

What genres of music did you start off playing, and at what point did you start cooking Latin hits together with EDM bangers?

When I first started DJing, I used to do the typical Quinceaneras, Weddings, Baptisms, High School Dances but it was just to get more practice on crowd control and DJing. I was playing everything during that time Cumbia, Bachata, Top 40, Corridos, Banda but no EDM yet. I was already liking EDM at that time, but I know that wouldn’t have worked at any of those gigs I had at first. So, after a couple of years doing those types of gigs I decided to stop because I wanted to focus on what I loved, which is EDM and being an Artist/Producer. I wanted to play myown stuff to a crowd, so I started learning and teaching

myself production and at first, I wasn’t doing any Latin EDM stuff, I was first doing Dirty Dutch and Big Room House, that was big back then. I would mess around with some Latino songs, but I never had any direction on what to do with it. Then years passed and then TikTok came out, I jumped on the app early and I started making videos of me making edits of Latino songs into EDM, and I saw that it did good, so I stayed doing that. Then I knew I had something so ever since then I kept on doing that, and still doing that now, and now I’ve built a good fan base/audience that I’m able to travel/tour to new states/ cities and play my music.

Very impressive, love the diversity that you have played around with, and love what you are now doing with all of it.

Tell us about your first DJ gig?

My very first DJ gig was at one of my High School dances. It was for a Latino Organization in my High School called LSO and I offered that I could DJ it and they booked me, and it went very well. I rented out equipment from my neighbor who was a sonidero DJ and I set everything up with my dad and had my first DJ gig. That was when people first found out that I DJ’d because I had kept

it a secret from everyone, I think I was just shy to tell people I DJ’d up until then.

The High School dances sure do help get you known around town, it’s like being the school football team quarterback, only better lol.

And to piggyback off the last question, en que punto did you go from playing Weddings, Quinces, Schools, and backyard carne asadas, to playing clubs, raves, festivals, and concerts?

Well through time, I started noticing my value and being selective on where I played. I knew I didn’t want to be known as the Quince DJ, I wanted to focus on being an Artist/DJ/Producer and play the big stages like EDC (one day) and headline my own shows. I want people to want to go see me play my music. I knew that once I got booked to play out-of-state, I had something going on, so I continued to work hard and look where I’m at now.

Started from the bottom now we here.

Have you played any private parties or concerts for

any of the Artist that you had made unofficial remixes of?

No, I haven’t, but I think it would be cool to do that one day.

Imagine, it’s a Sunday and you’re playing in Chula Vista, California at the private asada del Senor Don Mario Quintero Lara de Los Tucanes, and you playing your mix of La Chona, oh man, I’m getting chills just thinking about it, you better have us tag along as your crew when that happens lol.

What does it feel like to have DJs/Producers like Deorro and Steve Aoki drop your tracks at big festivals around the world?

It feels awesome to have big DJ’s play my own stuff that I made in my bedroom on my laptop. It’s that stamp of approval that what I’m doing is working.

Yeah, you sure have some heavyweight stamps of approval.

Dinos del DJ and producing equipment que usas?

For DJing, wherever I play they provide the equipment for me. I only take my USB’s with my music and then plug it into the CDJSNX and DJM900NX. For producing all I use is my laptop, headphones and that's it and my DAW is FL Studio.

Simple, what else does someone need to go viral lol.

Cuentanos about some of your up-coming certified EDM bangers, tracks, remixes, projects, and collabs that you are working on?

Well, I do have a new release that just dropped called “Fuego” it has some Cumbia in it with some House. Then this month I will be dropping my last song of the year called “Matraca.” And then basically just gearing up for 2025. For remixes I let my fans vote for my next remix, I give them options to pick and then they help me choose the next remix. I do this every single week on my broadcast channel on Instagram called “Rave Asada.”

Keep them tracks dropping cause they’re fire.

I trolled your Insta, so I did notice that you recently celebrated your first-year anniversary, congratulations to you and your wife, also noticed that she's right by your side on some of your rave videos, we wish you nothing but happiness. Tell us about her favorite song that she likes requesting?

Thank you so much! I appreciate her so much for always pushing me to be the best and being very supportive of my career. There are a couple tracks that I play that she likes so I know she likes it when I play my track Subele, and my remix of Mucha Lucha especially the accordion part. Also, this one edit I play of Danza Kuduro mixed into Intoxicated.

Sounds like she’s a keeper, keep playing her favorite tracks for here, happy wife, happy life.

Besides music, would you like to tell us about any other hobbies, jobs, businesses, investments you may have, and charities you help-out with?

Well for hobbies I just recently started collecting anime figures, I’ve actually posted a pic of it on my Twitter. I also enjoy going to the gym, that is when I listen to other music and get new remixes/original ideas and focus on my health.

I’m actually five months sober, I wanted to see how it is not drinking for a while, and I’ve actually been doing good. I’m trying to focus on my health/mindset, so I wanted to give it a shot. But if I had to pick a favorite adult drink it would be a Paloma.

Tequila based, seems like we are finding out more DJ’s are staying away from alcohol, and making health a priority, congrats on five months.

Steak or Carne Asada?

Carne Asada.

Delicious carne from your local carniceria for the win.

Pulga or Goodwill?

This one is hard, because you can find cool stuff in each one, but I will probably have to say Pulga.

Favorite adult drink?

Nothing like checking out your local flea, walking the aisle and finding yourself something you cannot live without that someone else threw out lol.

When your touring, do you ever stop and checkout the local pulga?

No, I don’t. Most of the time I don’t have much time to go and checkout local stuff because I basically travel all day.

The stuff you’re missing out on, imagine the finds.

Rather play a Quince or Sweet 16?

Quince all the way!

Had a feeling you would say that.

No, I haven’t.

Pos porque no? Gotta show your tia some love too, no solo tu tio, que paso mi amigo.

For all of us who enjoy your music, name us three up -and-coming DJs/Producers we should look out for?

RayBurger, Bolo, Ocho On The Beat.

You have just laid down three up-and-coming Artist, now everyone reading this interview has a duty to find and listen to these suggested Artist, I’m sure you will all be thanking Chan later.

Que consejos would you give to our readers that are aspiring to make it en la industria?

Never give up, surround yourself with positivity. Enjoy the process, celebrate big or small wins, a win is a win.

You got that right; a win is a win.

Where can we catch you performing live?

You can also go and follow my BandsInTown to stay updated on other shows and you can request me on there to come to your city.

Everyone needs to add to their bucket list to go see Chan perform live at one of his pachangas.

Any shoutouts or special gracias?

I want to give a shoutout to every single one that has shared, liked, commented, streamed my content/music. Without every single one of you I wouldn’t be where I am at right now. Then I would have to say my parents because of their work ethic, they started from zero and built themselves up and their work ethic imprinted on me to have this mentality and grind to keep on working hard and never give up for a better life. Lastly, the most important shoutout and thank you to my wife, for being the biggest supporter in my career and always being there for me whenever I am feeling exhausted/burnt out or just need a best friend to lean on.

Very humble shoutouts, your parents must be so proud of the DJ (man) that you have become.

Where can our readers follow you?
