Read-A-Thon fundraiser

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS

Our amazing SES Parent Group held a Read-A-Thon fundraiser in February. The students raised $16,628.80! In total, the students read 62,943 minutes. Our top reader was Eleanor Lindstrom, reading 2,648 minutes! There were prizes the kids could earn with the minutes they read and the funds they raised. Two of the prizes they could earn were a hot cocoa bar and a pizza party. The Somerset Elementary parent group has been so supportive and we are so happy to have them in our building doing fantastic things for our kids!

THIRD GRADE KINDNESS The third grade students recently completed a Kindness Challenge. Each student was given the challenge of making a difference with only $1.00. Students, together with their families, brainstormed ideas on how to use the dollar. The heartwarming and creative acts of kindness were recorded in a class book and presented at a celebration of kindness in hopes that it inspires others to do something kind. The challenge was sponsored by the Somerset Community Foundation and Carpeting by Mike.
