The PaperSeed Foundation is a non-‐profit organization dedicated to strengthening educational opportunities for children and young people in underserved and resource-‐lacking communities around the world. Founded by a CellMark Paper Executive in 2001, PaperSeed was run for ten years through hardworking and committed volunteers until it officially became part of the CellMark Family in 2011. CellMark underwrites all operating and administrative expenses for the foundation, thus allowing 100 percent of donations to directly benefit innovative leaders and projects in the education sector. CellMark is one of the world’s foremost providers of supply chain services to the pulp and paper industry, and expanded to included chemicals, metals and solid biofuels in the last few years. Today, group sales exceed 3.2 billion US dollars and the company operates six specialized product divisions, each focusing on a basic product category. The product divisions are represented and supported by CellMark’s global network of 65 offices in 30 countries — as well as a large number of representatives in other locales. CellMark’s sourcing activities extend to more than 80 countries, with sales in about 125 markets. Today PaperSeed has the unique opportunity of working together with CellMark, business partners of CellMark and local community-‐based organizations to create deep and lasting impact in underserved communities together. By harnessing global networks, PaperSeed creates coalitions between employees, local communities, NGOs and businesses that are committed to strengthening education. Our innovative and collaborative approach has been profiled in a nonprofit textbook, “Social Entrepreneurship: An Evidence –based Approach to Creating Social Value,” by Chao Guo and Wolfgang Bielefeld, and the Foundation belongs to the International Education Funders Group and the Central Compact on Learning Donor Network supported by the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution. It is our honor to introduce you to some of our work and it would be a pleasure to explore the possibility of collaboration in order to change lives together. Aliyya Shelley Mattos Executive Director, PaperSeed Foundation Corporate Social Responsibility, CellMark
