Personal Narrative My Life

I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me. I have chosen to go to the local community college to get used to the college experience. College life can be an exciting time but at the same time it can be a challenge. I feel that starting out at the community college would be a better chose than "jumping" into life at a...show more content...

I know this is what I want to do with my life. I want to be a positive influence in the lives of children. I want to be able to stand up and show the children that it is okay to be yourself and stand up for what you believe in. I am a well round student. For nine years I was actively involved in a girls organization. This experience taught me many things. We were actively involved in community service activities, for which I received the Silver Award. ( The second highest award in the organization.) I learned about the value of friendship and patients with others. This organization first introduced me to my future career. I was also involved for three and a half years in a student government club on campus. In this club I learned many life lessons. One of which was the value of hard work. I was one of the few people that organized the Junior/Senior Prom of 2000. My responsibilities included planning corranation, buying and organizing decorations, planning the busing schedule, booking the photographers, fundraising, ect. This taught me about hard work. But the best part of it was going to Prom knowing I was one of the only reasons that it happened. As far asschool goes, my schedule is very diverse. I am taking child development lab, which is a class where students from my high school can go to the local elementary schools and work one on one with the students. I have work in the elementary school for two and a half years. I

Personal Narrative My Life Essay

This explains the beginning of my life all the way to the end of my life. My life from the beginning was very fun as I grew up living with my mom's friend and my friend. But there were a lot of fights and I was very hyper back then. I have ADHD so back then when I was little; I was very hyper and wouldn't stop moving around the place. I always was annoying back then and never seemed to get my homework done at school. I was born at Kaiser Hospital during the year 1996. The first place I lived was on the street Via Harriet and was right next to a train. It was always noisy when the train passed by because it shook the house and scared all the animals. It wasn't the best place to live, but we eventually moved to the hills, I don't remember...show more content...

Overall I know that I'm going to graduate because I'm pushing hard and all I need to finish is my Cyber High and keep up my grades and I will graduate. I want to go to Chabot College because it's the closest place to go to. I am planning to get my associates degree then transfer to Cal State East Bay University. I don't exactly know the requirements of classes to get into Cal State, but as long as I get my AA degree I should be fine. I am focused on technology and computers; I like to choose classes that can be similar to wiring or soldering. I am not that sure if I would be more focused on computers or wiring, I think an Internship might help me out. My career would be Technician or Electrician because I'm focused on electricity and wanting to discover what would happen without getting electrocuted. I'm still unsure if I just want to work on physical components on the computer. I used to work on computers a lot, but it got boring and I can't do it as great now. Soldering is interesting for me because I get to repair broken wires, being able to strip a wire. When striping a wire, you get to know how the wire is connected. I think a life event for me is to grab my master's degree, which is what I'm focused on. That's like the best degree to get, but it's really difficult to receive. I wouldn't like going to years and years of education, but it's totally worth it. Getting a higher degree affects the amount

The Story of My Life Essay

"A Life Changing Event"

There are many events that stand out in my life that were significant and helped me grow stronger. One of these events stands out in particular to me and had the greatest impact in my life. When I attended high school my focus was never on the academics but only on sports and having fun with my friends. I never payed attention for more than five seconds and failed to complete any type of work given to me. My lack of care for high school affected me on going to a four year college, playing a sport in college, and taking remedial classes. First off when one's grades are poor it is extremely hard to get into a four year college. I would sit in all of my forty–five minute classes doodling, telling jokes, and just...show more content...

The thought of asking any of my teachers for letters of recommendation was not even an option anymore because they knew my personality and work ethic. All throughout high school I was involved in sports. I excelled in football and lacrosse throughout the four years I attended my high school. I had no problem going home studying football plays for hours and looking to make myself better for the next game or practice. I could recite defenses and offenses with no problem, but give me a math problem and it was as if it was in another language. Unlike my teachers I got along with my coaches well and they would be willing to help me get into a good school to further my playing skills. That is in reality only about twenty five percent of what you need to get into college. I lacked the other seventy five percent of doing at least average in academics and being a well rounded student. I had some schools contact me about playing lacrosse at their school but once they had heard I hadn't taken the SAT's yet and that my grades were a little above failing their interest level dropped. I believe that I potentially threw away some opportunities that could have really benefitted me today. Even if I would have payed attention the slightest bit I could have easily achieved B's and C's. I had my priorities mixed up and it really came back to bite me four years down the road. In addition to those two of the many problems a I faced another problem arose quickly. Nearing the end of

As I look back on the unforgettable week I had during the Habitat 62 trip, I can honestly say that the trip changed the way I looked at college and West Virginia University overall. My favorite parts of the trip were of course helping others who are less fortunate than myself and the adventures, but mainly the "class" that was held every night. I joined the adventure trip believing I was just going to help build a house and have fun rock climbing, exploring, and white–water rafting. I slowly realized that I would learn so much more. Adventure West Virginiataught me life–long lessons that could help save not only my life one day, but maybe even one of my best friends or a random stranger I had never met before. I believed, like most high school students and people in general around the world, that at West Virginia UniversityI was going to find a party in every direction I looked with many of my own peers drinking alcohol. The perspective view I had before the trip and after were completely opposite. I found out on the trip that I can find parties if I feel the need to, but overall there are plenty of activities to do besides partying and drinking. I originally thought that I was going to struggle heavily to write the amount advised for the journal entries at the end of every day.

On my way home from adventure, I had one of those moments were out of nowhere there is an overwhelming sensation or feeling that you forgot something. I had forgot my journal in the adventure

My Life Experience Essay

Life is full of exciting experiences for us to enjoy. However, these experiences are meant to teach life lessons that should remain with us. In my 17 years of living, I have had many lessons to be learned from events I have gone through. One of those lessons sticks out above the rest and it has a humorous story to go along with it. The story starts out with the group planning a get together while eating breakfast at Mcdonald's. Ideas were flowing out of our heads like a river. We could not agree on a plan of action for the longest time. Finally, it was decided that we should go to Kenzie's house after she said her dad would cook for us. I was immediately down for that idea because I knew her dad makes the best chicken wings ever. The rest of the day for me was spent thinking about what to wear that night. Eventually, the time came for heading over to Kenzie's house. Bailey, another girl in the group, asked me to give her a ride since she did not have her driver's license. Because of this, we were one of the last ones to make it to Kenzie's. In the time that we missed the group decided that they wanted to go and toilet paper some of our friend's houses that lived close to Kenzie. I had never done something like this before. However, the excitement of doing this and avoid being caught appealed to me. We all piled into the cars and headed to Wal–Mart to buy the toilet paper. We had an interesting event that happened to us while we were in Wal–Mart. The event was when Get more content

Life Experience Essay

On the other hand the first statement I choose that exemplifies my life experience is "I feel attracted and drawn or called to a spiritual journey" (Atchley, 2009, p. 64). There may be a stage in an individual's life where they can be unfulfilled with the direction of their personal trajectory. I genuinely believe that the contemporary main–stream society we reside in places too much emphasis upon the pursuit/accumulation of material possessions, endeavoring to maintain a youthful appearance, the acceptance of self–indulgence and completely removing God from our daily lives. I perceive that without engaging in God's will and by assisting one another an individual can attain meaning and purpose in their life. In addition by aiding other people who may need assistance an individual is not primarily contemplating upon their problems but instead placing the cares and concerns of others before their own. The class literature articulated that: "something happens to create an opening, an invitation that may come in many forms: an experience that suggests we are not who were though we were, feeling homesick for a place we don't recall being before or an experience of an alternative universe in our consciousness" (Atchley, 2009, p. 64). Therefore people that have converted to Christianity may perceive that this physical plane is not their long–term residence and that it is a temporary destination and our permanent home is residing with God in heaven for all eternity. I believe
