The following are some highlights from the Chamber’s past year: April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012. For the complete Annual Report, visit the Members Only section of the Chamber’s website at www.eauclairechamber.org.

• The Green Business Initiative Committee awarded 65 businesses a Green Business designation based on established criteria.

• Hosted the Chamber trip to Ireland with 40 travelers, and six people traveled to Greece.

• Held the third Business Hall of Fame Inductee luncheon, highlighting the seven inductees.

• The Young Professionals of the Chippewa Valley (YPCV) held 24 events, and membership is more than 360 members, an all time high.

• 650 people attended the Chamber Annual Meeting. • 60 students from 10 area high schools were recognized at the Excellence in Education Banquet with 360 people attending.

• 215 people participated in the 26th Annual Business Salutes Eau Claire Golf Classic.

• Small Office Home Office (SOHO) held three roundtable discussions with an average attendance of 22 people.

• 3,265 people were served by more than 300 volunteers at the 15th Annual Breakfast in the Valley.

• 150 people attended the 5th Annual Five O’clock on the Riverwalk. • 41 individuals participated in Leadership Eau Claire™. • 30 students from five area high schools participated in Youth Leadership Eau Claire.

• More than 700 students from six area high schools completed the Real Life Academy.

• 65 people went to Madison for the 18th Annual Chippewa Valley Rally organized by the Chippewa Valley Chamber Alliance.

• The Worksite Wellness Program recognized 15 businesses engaged in worksite wellness.

• 110 people attended the Age of Opportunity Job Fair. • More than 800 people attended the legislative breakfasts and luncheons. • More than 2,000 people attended Business After Hours and the Airport Open House events.

• 90 companies participated in the annual Chippewa Valley Wage Survey. • The Good Government Council provided candidate questionnaires for the spring elections.

• About 2,000 people attended THE Business Expo with 143 different exhibitors at a new location, the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center.

• More than 450 people attended the 21 Chamber-sponsored seminars. • The new Leadership Success Series featured three CEOs: Todd Wanek

of Ashley Furniture, Craig Culver of Culver’s and Wayne Fortun of HTI. More than 200 people attended these events.

• Ambassadors conducted 50 ribbon cuttings and ground breakings. • More than $606,000 in Chamber Buy Local Bucks were sold in 2011. • Approximately 500 volunteers (20 percent of our membership

representatives) helped to complete the goals of the Business Plan.

• The Chamber launched a new e-newsletter, The Update, in January 2012 and launched a new website in February 2012.
