The new Massimo Dutti Spring/ Summer collection presented at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris revealed a look that makes a connection between minimalism and what is native, unique to the setting that serves as the background and heart of the campaign: a city in the middle of an arid and inhospitable desert. Intellectuality and fashion blend together in this space in which each image is delicately in step with a polyphonic sequence of local voices with never-before-heard narrations about their adopted home or place of origin. The organisation of this event represents another step on the path set by the brand, a path that includes the organisation of fashion shows, always standing out for their creativity and use of the latest technology. All the project was based on a carefully defined art concept that represented the physical space conceived as a great inhospitable and remote place loaded with symbolism. With the catwalk as the luxurious setting and the city of Paris as a witness, the presentation of Massimo Dutti's new Spring/Summer 18 collections was a display of creativity and innovation that caused a stir among the brand’s loyal followers. A sequence of impactful looks where there was no lack of the concepts inherent to the core of the brand such as quality, exclusivity and progress, particularly in the outline of silhouettes, combination of colours,

and study of materials and textures, always seeking maximum quality and comfort. Her. Woman. Her long silhouette merges with the street. Discrete chromatic combinations, extreme softness and refined lines. Tailored suits, palazzo trousers, dresses that play with geometry, blouses made of light, almost volatile fabrics, and very structured lines. The tuxedo is key piece in men’s formal wear that will be available in black or navy blue, for which a three-button waistcoat has been created. Someren (Holland)

Maikel van der Vleuten, the first show jumper to be sponsored by Massimo Dutti, and his father, Eric van der Vleuten, the renowned jumping trainer, welcome us at their private estate in Someren, offering optimal conditions for practising and enjoying equestrian sports. When asked about the responsibility that goes with the van der Vleuten name, Maikel is clear: “When I was little, people expected me to be a reflection of my father, but I think I have managed to develop my own system thanks to everything I learned from himâ€?. Maikel van der Vleuten is part of the generation of young riders leading world equestrian sports. He is an undisputed member of the Dutch national team which has triumphed in the main international competitions over the last decade.

Someren is a town in the south of Holland, with around 20,000 inhabitants. Eric, his wife and children were all born here and have lived their whole lives in the surrounding area. Not only are they from here, but they have made it the nerve centre of their equestrian activities.

Eric van der Vleuten has been working with horses his whole life. He has been a trade rider, competition rider, trainer, coach and dealer. A success story that has allowed Eric to build magnificent facilities in Someren (Holland), where he has been living with his family and, of course, with his horses for years. His aim this season is to ensure that the Madrid in Motion team, made up of renowned riders Maikel van der Vleuten, Marc Houtzager, Eduardo à lvarez Aznar and Michael G. THE PROJECT The Inditex group implements its Inditex Right to Wear model at Massimo Dutti through the Massimo Dutti Join Life project. An initiative to describe the company's commitment to making all its products sustainable at all points of the product life-cycle.

Massimo Dutti launched the Join Life project as part of its commitment to manufacturing and selling safe products that use the most sustainable raw materials in adequate social and environmental conditions. These products are then sold by staff who undergo continuous professional development and who are aware of their responsibility to the community.

JOIN LIFE PROJECT


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOIN LIFE LABEL All factories producing the product's main fabric must be evaluated under the Green to Wear Environmental Sustainability Standard and have obtained Green to Wear classification of either A-Best in class or B-Good performance or have a continuous improvement plan with ambitious targets in place. The product must be manufactured using one of the best Green to Wear technologies or be made from a raw material that is classified as BETTER, such as including at least 50% Better Cotton or a minimum of 30% Lenzing Modal, a very flexible fabric which makes clothes twice as soft as pure cotton. In addition, our suppliers must comply with strict quality standards or implement a continuous improvement plan with ambitious targets for their social audit. The Right to Wear + standard is continually updated, to comply with ever stricter criteria to ensure that we continue to make advances in the sustainability of our products.
