School Board Brief
The school board approved two resolutions at our April regular board meeting. One was to finalize and officially award our parking lot project for this summer. More information will come out on how that will change the flow of traffic this summer. We are excited to get this project started!
24-25 Master Calendar
The other resolution was to authorize a tax levy to pay on our 2015 GO Bond. This pre-levying has saved the district and taxpayers roughly $282,000. This has not raised our tax rate.

It seems like the idea of constructing a new gym has been under discussion for about two years now. The board has approved a cost estimation company to provide us with a more precise price quote for a new gym. We are still in the initial stages of this discussion, but to make an informed decision of whether we would want to move forward with this type of project, we want to have accurate information.

WHY ADD EXTRA SCHOOL DAYS AT THE END OF THE YEAR?
With the amended calendar approved by the board and the final day of school set for May 29th to accommodate our snow makeup days, there have been inquiries about why we didn't utilize days around spring break. There are two primary reasons for this decision:
1. Many families and staff had pre-existing plans for that time period, making it impractical to schedule makeup days then. Additionally, the shortage of substitute teachers would have posed significant challenges to maintaining regular school operations.
2 Since teachers are compensated on a per-day basis, any additional days added would have required them to make up those days regardless. Therefore, we believe it's more beneficial to prioritize in person learning since teachers have to be in the classroom. The classroom is where they have the greatest impact on our students.

PORTRAIT OF A GRADUATE
WE NEED YOUR INPUT! Starting with the end in mind, our district is working to create a picture of what key skills all graduates of Panorama Community Schools need for success. This "Portrait of a Graduate" will be developed with input from our community, including students, parents, graduates, teachers, and school personnel as well as business and community members. Once complete, it will serve as our "north star" for future efforts and direction. Please provide your thoughtful input to the following questions. The survey should take 2-4 minutes to complete. Thank you for your help!

Transitional Kindergarten Coming to Panorama Elementary!
We're thrilled to introduce our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program, an exciting addition to our district and community! Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a special program designed for children who aren’t quite ready to enroll in traditional kindergarten but are ready for more than what preschool offers. It's like a stepping stone between preschool and kindergarten, providing an extra year of preparation for young learners.
