ThankYou and Jumpa Lagi
As we approach the end of the school year, it’s time for me to say a very warm jumpa lagi after 15 unforgettable years at Panaga School. We are preparing for a new adventure in Oman, and while we’re excited about what’s ahead, it’s definitely not easy to leave a place that has felt so much like home for so long.
I’ve been incredibly lucky to spend my time here, first as a teacher in Early Years and Key Stage 1, and for the past 8 years, serving as Deputy Principal of Mendaram and Rampayoh. Panaga School has given me so much — friendship, laughter, learning, and memories I’ll carry with me always.
One of the greatest parts of my journey has been the people—our brilliant team of educators, the wonderful children who have made every day special, and the parents who have supported and trusted me over the years. Your kindness, encouragement and partnership have meant so much to me and it has been wonderful to work alongside you and share in the journey of your children's learning and growth. Panaga is not just a school, it’s a community that wraps around you with care and a genuine connection that stays with you long after you leave.
I have had the pleasure of working alongside so many passionate and talented colleagues who are dedicated to nurturing young minds and building a supportive environment for learning and growth.Avery special thank you to our Bruneian staff, who are truly the heart of Panaga School. Their warmth, wisdom, and care have been constant and unwavering, and I’ve learnt so much from working alongside them. I’ve also had the privilege of working closely with local schools and teachers in Brunei, and those experiences have been incredibly enriching and rewarding—I’ll always value those connections and shared learning moments.
Brunei will forever hold a special place in our hearts. It’s where Mikaela was born and where she’s grown up, spending all of her primary school years in a safe, nurturing and engaging environment. The memories we’ve made and the friendships we’ve formed here are ones we’ll always cherish.
I’ll also really miss the Panga International Days, the fun of dressing up for Book Week, and all the special themed days that brought colour, excitement and creativity into our school life. Those moments always reminded me how lucky we are to be part of such a vibrant and internationally-minded community—Together, You, Me, Our Community.
I’m proud to have been part of a school that truly lives its vision of Together Improving Learning. It’s something I’ve seen in action every day, in classrooms, playgrounds, leadership teams and community events.
To every child, parent, colleague and friend who’s been part of our story—thank you. Thank you for the trust, encouragement, memories, the laughter, the lessons, and the love. We leave with full hearts and deep appreciation for all that Panaga has given us.
As Dr. Seuss said:
“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
With love and thanks,
Donna

Over the past week, Year 1 have been busy working on a very special project — creating their own shoebox habitat dioramas as part of our IPC, The Earth, Our Home. With great excitement (and a lot of secrecy!), they planned, designed, and built their habitats, proudly showcasing them during our Exit Point celebration on Wednesday.
From the ocean and rainforest to the savannah, desert, Arctic, and Antarctic, each child chose a habitat to explore and recreate. The dioramas featured detailed environments, carefully chosen animals, and included food chains to show the life cycles within.
Before building, the children completed planning sheets, independently deciding what animals, materials, and tools they would need. They thought carefully about their designs and problem-solved as they went. After creating their habitats, they reflected on their work, noting changes made — from different materials to new animals discovered.
It was a joy to see their creativity, thought, and enthusiasm. We're so proud of each and every child. A big thank you to all the parents, aunties, and siblings who joined us. The children were thrilled to share their creations and learning books.
What wonderful young explorers and scientists Year 1 are becoming!

Introducing the Zumbers
From top L-R : Michelle, Evansh, Alina, Simon
From bottom L-R : Frieda, Santiago, Elizabeth, Nina, Olivia
Every Tuesday, our energetic group of 9 young Zumbers showed wonderful adaptability and enthusiasm throughout the term. From moving between classrooms while we searched for the perfect space with loud music, to finally finding a place where they could dance freely, let loose, and have fun, these children embraced every change with a positive attitude! Each week, our Zumbers: danced, moved, grooved, and shone brightly with confidence. Showed resilience and teamwork, even when things get tricky. Expressed themselves through movement and had so much fun doing it! Some of our Zumbers were also experiencing their very first after-school activity, as preparation for moving into the next school year. It was beautiful to watch their confidence grow week by week, and how much they looked forward to Zumba ASA.
As a special surprise, we’ve prepared a Zumba video to share with their families, teachers, and friends, showcasing just how much joy, energy, and progress these young Zumbers made! Well done, Zumbers, you were outstanding! Keep dancing, keep smiling, and keep shining!

Story Walks, Book Doctors & Young Authors??
See what our Little Librarians did!
These children have been very BUSY! Check out the awesome activities they have been doing over the past few weeks!
Story Walk Adventure!
We’re not just staying in the library—we’re exploring too! Our Little Librarians had a fun Story Walk around the Reception courtyard. We started by reading a few pages of Elmer in the library, then followed clues to find the next pages hidden around the school!
At each checkpoint, we worked together to solve puzzles and complete fun mini activities to earn the next hint. It was a great team effort! After the adventure, we returned to the library to read the last pages of the story and finished with some relaxing colouring time.
It was a fun-filled day of reading, teamwork, and discovery!
Little Librarians to the Rescue at the Book Hospital!
Oh no! Some books from Teraja Library were “sick” and needed help—so our Little Librarians became book doctors!
First, each child picked a book and did a check-up, looking for things like torn pages, loose covers, or scribbles. Then it was healing time! Using their “doctor kits” (sticky tape, glue, and erasers), they gently fixed the books and gave them “healing mark” stickers.
We ended with a chat about how to treat books with care so they stay healthy and happy. Book heroes to the rescue!
Book Making
Our little librarians put on their author hats and got creative! Each child made their very own storybook — written and illustrated by them. Some teamed up to write group stories, while others chose to be solo storytellers. From silly adventures to magical lands, they came up with the storylines all on their own and planned every page with care. It was a day full of imagination, teamwork, and a lot of giggles!
Little Librarians Book Launch
Our Little Librarians proudly hosted their very own Book Launch event! Parents, teachers, and LSAs were invited to celebrate the children’s amazing achievement—writing and illustrating their own storybooks. The event began with the club pledge, followed by the children reading their books aloud to the audience.Aphoto presentation on iPads showed highlights from their creative journey, and the children happily shared what they’ve been working on in the ASA. It was a heartwarming event full of smiles, stories, and well-deserved pride!
A group of enthusiastic children joined the Drawing Club, eager to explore their creativity and imagination. From the very first session, they embraced a variety of artistic resources, including pencils, pastels, crayons, and felt tips. Each child brought their unique ideas to life, experimenting with different techniques and to express themselves. The club has become a vibrant space for collaboration and self-expression, where the children not only develop their artistic skills but also build confidence and a sense of pride in their creations. We are proud of your resilience and creativity young Rampayoh artists!
We had fabulous creative arts and craft activities! We made collages based on fabric materials. We choose our Personal Qualities animals and made a beautiful fabric collage.
We did painting on fabric and we have our own creativity design. Thank you to all to the children, we had so much fun!
Drama Set Design ASA
This week in Drama Set Design, we were putting our plans into action. We had a few design decisions to finalise before getting down to measurementsandfirstcuts.
Students have been actively participating in a variety of fun and educational activities in the Creative Chinese Corner! From practicing Chinese calligraphy to building their own Great Wall of China projects, they’ve been exploring Chinese language and culture in hands-on ways.
They’ve also enjoyed introducing themselves in Chinese, making festive cards, crafting dragon paper fortune tellers, and putting together beautiful Chinese scrapbooks. It’s been a fantastic journey of learning through creativity—and most importantly, the students had a great time!
The BJSLRugby and Netball competitions provided a fun and rewarding experience for Panaga School students inYears 3, 4, 5, and 6. Pupils who participated through both PE lessons andASAs proudly represented the school in matches against other international schools. These events offered an excellent opportunity to apply and extend skills developed during lessons, including teamwork, tactical awareness, and effective attacking and defending. The supportive and positive environment encouraged enjoyment, confidence, and sportsmanship. BJSLalso helped students build friendships, resilience, and leadership skills, making it a memorable and meaningful highlight of the school year.
What a thrilling week of basketball for our U13s! Both the Boys and Girls teams put on a fantastic show, battling their way to 2nd place in their respective competitions – an amazing achievement! The Boys impressed with slick passing, solid defence, and relentless drive, while the Girls brought incredible energy and teamwork, lighting up the court with every game. Considering this is the first year basketball has beenplayedatPanaga, thejourneythesesquadshave been on has been nothing short of amazing. A huge thank you to Mr Mike for his brilliant leadership and to MsMelissaforhersupportthroughout!
