Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the 15th week of what has been a long and wonderfully productive term, the children are still bursting with energy — exploring, creating, competing, cooperating, and demonstrating remarkable resilience. Their motivation and enthusiasm remain strong, and it has been inspiring to see them embrace every challenge and opportunity with such positivity.

There have been so many highlights recently, including the final ASAs of the term, multiple exit points such as The World Around Us and A Day in the Life, Python coding projects, maths challenges, chess and art competitions, and, of course, our school disco, which raised an impressive $665 for marine conservation.Afantastic achievement — thank you to everyone involved.

A particularly special event was our Mystery at Magpie Manor production this week. It was wonderful seeing so many children on stage delivering their roles with such precision, confidence, and passion. The performers had tremendous fun, and the audience thoroughly enjoyed being entertained. Congratulations to our talented actors in Years 5 and 6, and to the students in Years 7 and 8 who supported behind the scenes.Aheartfelt thank you to our incredible staff team for guiding the children so expertly, with a very special mention to the visionary Ms Karachi, who continues to inspire our young performers year after year.

Last week, Melilas reports were issued and followed by parent–teacher conferences this week (along with Early Years). Thank you to all parents who attended and contributed to such meaningful learning conversations.Today,Year 1–6 reports have also been issued, with optional parent–teacher conferences taking place next week.

Our final week of term is, as always, jam-packed with exciting events, including the Year 6 MFL trip on Monday, the Winter Market for Years 3 and 4 and Stargazing for Reception on Tuesday, Mendaram Splash Day on Thursday, the Year 8 Twilight production on Thursday, and the Christmas musical show performed by our younger children on Friday.

None of this would be possible without the boundless enthusiasm of our children, the expertise and dedication of our staff, and the continued support and cooperation of you — our parents. Please do continue to help us by completing (if not already done so) the School Exit and Permission Forms for Pre Nursery toYear 2 and Year 3 toYear 8 and the Community Engagement Survey

Wishing everyone a fabulous holiday break (from next Friday!), a very Happy Christmas to those who celebrate, and a peaceful NewYear. School will resume on Tuesday, 6th January 2026

Best Wishes, Brian, SLTand all of our staff.

Community Engagement

Mendaram Exit Point

The WorldAround Us!

We enjoyed collecting nature’s treasures, then used our creative skills to make an animal, a pattern and even made stick men!

Year 1 and Year 2 Exit Point

A day in the life!

As part of the ‘A day in the life’ exit point the year 1 and year 2 designed their own community. They showcased their planning skills, map making abilities and creativity in developing products to represent their ideas.

As we bring thisASAterm to a close, the children have prepared a set of ‘library rules’to guide their peers.

Thank you for your dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm throughout thisASAterm.Your commitment to keeping our library organized, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone has truly made a difference. We appreciate the care you put into your responsibilities and the leadership you’ve shown in helping your peers!

Doodles, Dots and Delights!

This term, we wandered into the world of doodles! Our Doodlers filled each session with imagination, laughter and lines that danced across the paper! We discovered the quirky brilliance of Mr. Doodle and the magical, dotty universe of Yayoi Kusama, one of the most legendary artists of our time!

With a sprinkle of creativity, we even crafted “Personal Qualities” artworks, each one touched with doodle charm, for Miss Tessa’s office!

We couldn’t be prouder of our delightful Doodlers and the magic they brought to life!

In our lastASAof No-Cook Kitchen, the students suggested making trifle, and it turned out to be such a lovely choice. They had so much fun layering all the ingredients—sponge, cream, sauces, and toppings—creating their own colourful and delicious masterpieces.

Panaga School Chess Competition

The children inYears 1 to 8 have been taking part in this year’s chess competition for the last four weeks. Over 90 children participated and it was pleasing to observe the excellent level of sportsmanship, chess ability and enthusiasm during the tournament. The school final, which was between Musa (Year 8) and Ryan (Year 6), took place on Monday in the Teraja Hall, with a large number of children watching the proceedings. In an exciting game, Musa eventually won and is this year’s Panaga School champion. Alist of year group winners is below; each year group champion will receive a trophy at the end of this term.

If you would like your child to develop their chess skills, there is a chess club for the children inYears 1 and 2 at Rampayoh next term and a chess club for the children in Years 3 to 8 at our other campus. In addition, the inaugural Panaga School/Jerudong International School chess competition will be taking place on Saturday, 10th January at JIS. This competition is for children inYears 3 to 8. House Edition: SLT Presentation

In the past weeks, we, the House Captains and Vice-Captains presented House ideas and experiences to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Each House shared plans or competitions, undraisin and ways to en a e students.

One o the unniest moments was when we were all asked about our shoe sizes - a small question that made everyone lau h. We also enjoyed seein the positive reactions rom SLT as we shared our creative ideas or uture House events.

From this experience, we learned how important preparation, teamwork, and confidence are when workin on bi projects.Throu hout the process, we showed leadership, teamwork and resilience. We supported each other, stayed confident even when we were nervous and kept oin despite small mistakes.

Overall, every House demonstrated stron school spirit and commitment. We hope this inspires all students to join in House activities and continue leadin with respect and excellence.

Exciting news for MFL!

Boosting MFLLearning with Language Gym

All our Y4–Y8 MFL students now have access to Language Gym, a brilliant online platform that turns practising vocabulary, grammar, and sentence-building into a fun, interactive experience.

Teachers are already using it in class to make lessons more engaging, and students can continue the fun at home with short, regular sessions that help them stay confident and improve fast.

Homework? It’s a mix! Language Gym tasks, Google Classroom activities, and even some traditional paper-based work – so there’s variety every week.

Not logged in yet? No worries – just reach out to your MFL teacher for your details.

Run, Solve, Snap! Spanish Adventures

In Spanish, we have been learning numbers from 1–20 through a range of creative and engaging activities. One of our highlights was an outdoor “Crack the Code” challenge, where students raced competitively to solve mathematical problems in Spanish and translate the secret code. Taking learning outside added excitement, movement and teamwork, helping students stay focused and motivated. Their overall favourite activity, however, was the lively card game Snap — surprisingly new to many of them! I love inventing fun games to help students learn vocabulary and grammar, and I can’t wait to see what creative idea comes next. The planning (and the fun!) never stops.

Around China in One Week!

OurYear 7 and 8 students became virtual travellers this week as they explored different cities across China. They researched culture, food, climate, population, and famous landmarks, then shared their findings through colourful, creative presentations. Many even added photos, maps, and videos—bringing each city to life. What a fantastic job by all!
