Academy Sports and Outdoors is proud to be associated with TSFMag and to carry the Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine. TSFMag appeals to Texas saltwater anglers and Academy’s magazine sales back that up. For example, TSFMag is available in all Academy stores with a 77% sell that makes TSFMag the #1 field and stream magazine sold at Academy. Academy has seen increases in saltwater tackle sales over the past few years. TSFMag readers are also Academy customers and vice versa. TSFMag, like Academy, is relevant to the experienced saltwater angler who buys upper-end products, as well as the beginner who is unsure of what products to place in their tackle box.
Informative articles on Texas bay systems, tide charts, and a variety of new and mainstream products help all saltwater anglers make the most of each trip.
Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine continues to gain popularity as a leading periodical to the saltwater angler. Academy looks forward to working with the TSFMag team in coming years.

Re: Magazine Sale-through and Advertising Results
Dear Everett & Pam Johnson,
Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine is distributed in a wide variety of magazine retailers, including Barnes and Noble, Borders Books and Music, Hastings Booksellers, H.E.B., Kroger Supermarkets, Randall’s Supermarkets, and a variety of airport newsstands. This magazine’s sell through trends well above the national average and its high average sale per retailer proves that this is a magazine that retailers should carry and display prominently.
Joe Berger Athlon Retail Marketing Services
Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine is a solid newsstand sales performer. Unit sales per dealer and sales efficiency are above industry average.

Warner International Periodical Services, Inc.
Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine is one of the most popular coastal fishing publications we sell. It is loaded with photos, great articles, tips, and guide contacts. If you are interested in fishing the Texas Coast, this magazine has a wealth of up-to-date information.
Lorraine C. Lawrence Promotion Manager, Bass Pro Shops
As one of the largest independent tackle dealers, our customers come to us looking for reliable sources of information on inshore, offshore, kayak, and fly fishing. The success we have had over the years with Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine (TSFM) on our counters has proven that your magazine is a source they trust. We have consistent sales each month with spikes in sales on the occasional issue featuring a more interesting cover. As for advertising, we have also had great success with customer response to our ads. After running a coupon in three different magazines the same month, the return rate for the coupon ran in TSFM was 10:1 over other publications. Customers redeeming these coupons came from all over the Houston Metro area and just beyond. This campaign proved very valuable when evaluating where we spent our advertising dollars. TSFM has become a great resource for our customers wanting to find information about events held at the store. We receive many calls and emails inquiring what issue they can find dates and times of a store event. This has become a great way for us to communicate with our customers and reach new ones. Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine is full of wellwritten, honest and informative articles. We enjoy working with all of you. Keep up the good work!
Your Friends at Fishing Tackle Unlimited
TSF has evolved into the most comprehensive and informative magazine in the Gulf Coast!
Rocky Roy’s Bait and Tackle
Speedy Stop Stores has been selling Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine since March 2003. Throughout that time we have enjoyed very healthy sales growth in the 141 stores that carry it with a sell-through performance of 73%. Our stores as far away from the coast as San Antonio and Austin enjoy strong sales, & our stores in coastal communities often require restocking well before scheduled deliveries.

Saltwater fishing is Texas’ fastest growing outdoor activity.
Saltwater fishing is red hot! Over the past decade, saltwater fishing has outstripped every other outdoor activity including golf, freshwater fishing, even deer hunting! License sales indicate that Texas is now home to over 1.1 million saltwater anglers.
TSFMag is Texas’ leading saltwater fishing magazine.
If saltwater anglers represent a prime market for your goods and services, then TSFMag is a very effective tool for reaching them. No other magazine in Texas maintains a 100% saltwater-only focus. At best, the other magazines offer saltwater as a department, along with hunting, guns, hiking, camping, off-roading, RVing and freshwater fishing.
TSFMag is the fastest growing outdoor publication in Texas today.
From meager beginnings as a ‘free issue’ tabloid (Jan. ’91- Feb.’03), our first ‘for sale’ issue hit the newsstand in March 2003. With the help of Texas’ largest magazine distributors, and through efforts of our in-house circulation department, our magazine is now available in 2000 retail locations. We cover the entire Texas coast from Port Arthur to Brownsville. Our circulation extends to all major cities — Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and their suburbs. We are currently circulating an average of 45,000 copies, 12 months per year. Our subscription list has grown to 12,000 readers and our rack sales generate 80% sell-through... unheard of in this industry. However, our circulation efforts don’t stop when the magazines come off-sale. Here at TSFMag, unsold copies are not sent to the shredder. We take them to CCA-Texas fund raiser banquets, we mail them to our troops overseas, we place them in school libraries, tire stores, auto dealerships, hospitals, trade shows and fishing tournaments. In short - we work hard so that your ad will work hard for you!
Why is TSFMag so popular?
We stick to fishing and we offer something nobody else has...100% Texas saltwater, and it’s all about content and credibility. Our writers are widely known as saltwater professionals. The style of their work is easy, entertaining and highly informative. The content is unique. Nobody packs as much into each issue, and nobody matches the quality. . .period!
TSFMag works hard for advertisers.
Our circulation is growing at an amazing pace and our loyal readership pore over TSFMag from cover to cover. Why place your messages where they might be overlooked? Check our rate card, nobody even comes close. We are striving to maintain a format that appeals to all businesses. . . from Mom and Pop enterprises to large corporations. We offer advertisers the best deal in Texas!
TSFMag supports conservation.
Conservation of Texas coastal resources is a way of life and a central part of our publishing mission. No other ‘for profit’ publication does as much. We donate and dedicate more space to conservation than nearly all the others put together. We are striving to elevate sport fishing in Texas above its historic ‘harvest based’ mentality, something we believe will prove essential to the continued growth of the sport.
TSFMag supports youth and family fishing.
Youth are our greatest resource. Magazines that encourage family sport get read by all family members... not just men. Getting the whole family hooked means more fishing days for Mom & Dad and more tackle and equipment sales for the whole family.
