the heat is on! as the temperatures continue to climb this summer, staying cool has become even more of a priority for all of us. try these quick recipes this ramzan to minimize the time you spend in the kitchen!

STRAWBERRY & BANANA SMOOTHIE An easy, wholesome strawberry banana smoothie made from fresh ingredients. It's creamy, sweet, healthy and can easily be made with things you find inside the house.

Ingredients: • • • • • •

8 strawberries, hulled 1 banana 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup plain yogurt 3 tablespoons white sugar 6 ice cubes

Directions: In a blender combine strawberries, milk, yogurt, sugar and vanilla. Toss in the ice. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Pour into glasses and serve.

BLENDED ICED COFFEE An easy, wholesome strawberry banana smoothie made from fresh ingredients.

It's creamy, sweet, healthy and can easily be made with things you find inside the house.

Ingredients: 2 cups coffee (brewed cold) | 3 teaspoons sugar 1 -2tablespoon French vanilla flavored coffee creamer 2 cups ice cubes | chocolate syrup (optional) Whipped Cream (optional) Directions: 1. In a blender, crush ice 2. Mix coffee, sugar and creamer.

3. Pour into blender and add ice cubes. Blend until smooth.

4. Top with chocolate syrup and whipped cream if you want.

CHICKEN PEANUT SESAME NOODLES Ingredients: • ½ kg boneless, skinless chicken breasts • 4 teaspoons oil divided (peanut preferably) • 2 cloves garlic, minced • 1 (1/2-inch) piece ginger, peeled and minced • 1 pound spaghetti • 1 medium cucumber • 5 green onions (white and green parts), chopped • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds toasted

GREEK YOGURT CHOCOLATE FUDGE POPS These Chocolate Greek Yogurt Popsicles are a must! They’re easy to make – just four main ingredients– and the perfect healthier treat!

Ingredients: • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips • 1 cup chocolate milk • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract • 1 1/2 cups Vanilla Greek Yogurt Directions: 1. Heat the chocolate chips over a double boiler on low heat until completely melted.

2. Add the milk to the melted chocolate and increase the heat to medium stirring constantly 3. Remove from heat when completely mixed and cool for 5 minutes.

4. Whisk in vanilla and Greek yogurt; mix well until completely smooth.

5. Place a fine-mesh sieve over a large bowl (preferably one with a spout) and pour the chocolate mixture through the sieve. Pour the strained chocolate liquid into the Popsicle moulds and place them in the freezer for 1 hour.

6. At this point remove the pops from the freezer and insert the Popsicle sticks in.

Freeze overnight.

Sauce: For the sauce: 2 tablespoons peanut butter | 2 tablespoons vinegar 3 tablespoons sesame oil | 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon sugar | 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes Directions: 1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Cook the garlic and ginger for about 2 minutes, then remove and set aside.

2. Add the remaining 2 teaspoons of oil, increase the heat slightly, and add the chicken breasts. Cook until golden on each side, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Turn the heat to low, cover the pan, and cook until chicken is cooked through, about 10 minutes. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside to cool.

3. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook spaghetti according to the package directions. While it cooks, peel the cucumber and slice into thin strips about 4 inches long.

4. In a large bowl, whisk together the ingredients for the sauce, plus the garlic and ginger. When the spaghetti is finished cooking, drain and rinse under cold water until cool.

Add to the bowl with the sauce and toss to coat. Add the cucumber, scallions, and sesame seeds.

5. Slice the cooled chicken into thin, diagonal strips and place on top of the noodles on each plate.

I’ve graduated from the American High School in 2016, later on I left my university after a year where I was studying media and joined COTHM because of my love for cooking.

How did get into baking??What was your inspiration?

I was 8 or 9 when my mom became obsessed with watching these cooking shows on TV. I started watching those shows with her and baking was that one thing that always clicked.

Have you always wanted to do what you do?

Yes, I’ve always had a passion for baking. And I knew this is what I wanted to do.

What’s your favourite desert of all time?

At the moment it’s cheesecake. Any kind, any day.

What’s your favourite type of food?

Desi for sure!

What chef would you love to meet and bake with if you were given a chance?

If I could I would do anything to have one kitchen session with Chef Fatima, she is my inspiration.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Hopefully with a restaurant of my own.

What would you like to say to our followers?

When you do something out of love and passion, the result is beautiful. It’s true when people say if you love your job it doesn’t feel like you’re working. It’s just every day of doing what you love the most.
