Meet the Paducah

ADVISORY BOARD “This impressive group of leaders has a meaningful impact on the success of our company,” says Paducah Bank President Mardie Herndon. “There is no doubt that our best days are in front of us, and our Advisory Boards provide an empowering transition point for our institution.” The Paducah Bank Advisory Board meets regularly with our leadership to discuss community concerns, give insight into customer services, help identify potential areas of growth, and create opportunities for Paducah Bank to improve our local economy and the livelihood of our community.

WHITNEY CRUSE Vice President of Barge Logistics for Marquette Transportation, LLC Paducah Bank Advisory Board Chair Cruse earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Murray State University in Business Administration. She is involved in various community organizations including being an associate member of the Charity League of Paducah, a founding member of the Women in Maritime Operations (WIMOs) Organization as well as the current president for the West Kentucky Chapter of WIMOS, and a founding member of Paducah Professional Women Organization.

GEORGE WILSON Athlete, Philanthropist, Model and Actor, Motivational Speaker, George Wilson S.A.F.E.T.Y. Foundation Paducah Bank Advisory Board Vice-Chair Wilson is a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and attended the University of Arkansas on an academic scholarship and as a walk-on to the Arkansas Razorbacks football team. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration Management and entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent wide receiver with the Detroit Lions in 2004. He went on to play for the Buffalo Bills and the Tennessee Titans before retiring after 11 years in the NFL. His story of strength and dedication led to a career as a motivational speaker and eventually to the creation of the George Wilson S.A.F.E.T.Y. Foundation.

The goal of the Foundation is to Save Adolescents from the Everyday Trials of Youth. George's humanitarianism and focus on bettering his community and the lives of others earned him the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 2009 and 2011. In 2011, George became the recipient of the President's Council on Fitness Sports & Nutrition Community Leadership Award, which is an award given annually to individuals who improve the lives of people within their community by providing or enhancing opportunities to engage in sports, physical activities, fitness or nutrition-related programs. In 2014, George acquired beautiful farmland in western Kentucky and established Phonograph Farms. George is currently in the development stages of a new agritourism destination farm, which will bring families together to create a lifetime of memories and meaningful experiences.

In 2020, George established George Wilson Experiences, a full service event company that specializes in curating events and travel experiences for their clients. George’s humanitarianism and focus is to better his community and the lives of those who comprise it.

TARA WISE SAWVEL Executive Sales Representative, Lilly USA, Incorporated Paducah Bank Advisory Board Secretary Sawvel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Western Kentucky University and a Master of Arts in International Communications from University of Leeds, England. Sawvel has been with Lilly USA since 2007, where she educates health care professionals across western Kentucky on the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of over twenty oral and injectable pharmaceutical products, helping patients feel better and live longer, healthier lives.

She previously worked as a senior sales representative for GlaxoSmithKline in Nashville, TN and as a channel marketing manager for Silicon Graphics Incorporated in Mountain View, CA. She currently serves on the Paducah Head Start Policy Council, on the Clark Elementary School's Site Based Decision Making Board, and she is a member of Broadway United Methodist Church.

TERRANCE ADAMS Chief Executive Officer, Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital—Midtown in Nashville, TN Adams is Chief Executive Officer of Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital, a freestanding, 40-bed rehabilitation hospital serving patients in middle Tennessee. Prior to his role with Ascension Saint Thomas, Adams spent seven years at Mercy Health-Lourdes, a 353-bed acute care hospital and regional referral center in Paducah, Kentucky. While with Mercy Health, Adams served in progressive leadership roles, including Director of Orthopedics and Neuroscience Service Lines, where he led daily operations, strategic planning and quality improvement for a 28-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, acute inpatient therapy, an outpatient rehab clinic, neurodiagnostic lab, an 8-bed sleep lab, epilepsy monitoring unit, pain clinic and procedure center, a Neurology practice, and a Neurosurgery practice. Adams has achieved successful results through strengthening physician relations, improving quality of care through implementation of best practices and safety initiatives, achievement of key performance indicators, and generating growth in volume, net revenue, and EBITDA. A native of Coushatta, Louisiana, Adams earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Service Administration from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2010 and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2013. Adams also attended Louisiana State University for 2 years where he joined the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. In addition to his current role with Ascension Saint Thomas, Adams is a passionate executive leader and mentor serving within Tennessee’s diverse healthcare associations. He currently serves on the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Tennessee Regent’s Advisory Council, is an active member of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) committee of the Tennessee Hospital Association, is a member of Leadership Healthcare with the Nashville Healthcare Council and is serving on the executive committee of the Greater Nashville chapter of National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE). Adams is also a mentor to early careerists and supports the development of healthcare administration students at Lipscomb University.

Adams, his wife Saundria and their two sons Malechi and Terrance, Jr., live in Hendersonville, Tennessee, where they are involved in local school athletics and community activities. His years leading clinical and operating teams have helped drive improved patient outcomes for the organizations he’s served, and in his current role, he is a staunch community advocate for comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation care and increased access to specialty services for patients in middle Tennessee. Adams lives by his personal motto: “To Lift as I Climb.”

MASON DeJARNETT Territory Manager, Fabick CAT DeJarnett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Mid-Continent University and is a graduate of the Delta Leadership Institute. He has worked for Fabick CAT since 2013, securing several Milestone Year Awards for his work in temporary power, air, and temperature control. He is a board member for Community Christian Academy, Paducah Alliance of Neighbors, and Heartland Church. He is past Board President for Kiwanis Club of Paducah and Paducah Day Nursery. Mason served as a board member Paducah Young Professionals and the International Propeller Club Port of Paducah.

KATIE ENGLERT Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and owner of Compass Counseling and Chicken Salad Chick Englert is the owner of Compass Counseling and Chicken Salad Chick. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Arts in Education from Western Kentucky University. In 2019, she was honored with the Paducah Chamber’s Entrepreneur of the Year award. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, she received the 2020 Kentucky Counseling Association's Outstanding Mental Health Counselor of the Year award for her work in training hundreds of counselors in Kentucky on how to deliver telehealth counseling during the pandemic. Englert is also set to become the Chair of the Board for the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce in 2024. She greatly enjoys watching her daughter play soccer, her son participate in various sports, and traveling. She has a deep affection for small towns, small businesses, and helping people live with purpose.

JAY HITE Partner, Clayton Byrd & Meeks, LLP Hite earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Murray State University. He also earned his CPA license. He is involved in several community organizations including secretary/treasurer for New Pathways for Children, Paducah Young Professionals, Kiwanis and Paducah Business Network. He is a member of Broadway Church of Christ. He is also the former president of the board of Family Service Society and a member of Leadership Paducah Class #28.

INES HUTCHINS-RIVAS Founder and President of INTEC Group, LLC Ines is the Founder and President of INTEC Group, LLC, a Paducah-based company specializing in construction services for the Federal Government. With over $200 million in contract awards, INTEC Group has successfully managed close to 300 federal projects and is considered one of Western Kentucky's top woman-owned government contractors.

Born in Venezuela, Ines has always had a passion for art and building things. She turned these interests into a successful career, starting in residential construction management before moving into commercial and eventually finding her niche in government contracting. Ines serves on several community boards, including the Paducah Chamber of Commerce, the Riverport Board, and Sprocket. Ines is a proud mother of two and resides in Paducah with her husband, Justin Rundles.

MAEGAN MANSFIELD Project Manager, Bacon Farmer Workman (BFW) Mansfield is a Professional Engineer and manages BFW's Waterways and Asset Management divisions. She earned a Master of Science degree in civil engineering and a minor in mathematics at the University of Kentucky. She is a member of the 2022 Leadership Kentucky class and a graduate of Leadership Paducah Class #35.

She serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Paducah Economic Development Council and the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce Business Advocacy Committee. She is also past president of the United Way of Western Kentucky and Charity League of Paducah.

NICK MORRIS Franchise Owner at Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services Morris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Murray State University. He is the past President of Kiwanis of Downtown Paducah. Morris is a graduate of Leadership Paducah Class #29. He is past President of the Leadership Paducah Alumni Association and past Chair of the Paducah Young Professionals. He is a member of the Bowling Green C12 group and is an active committee member of his church’s men’s ministry.

BEN STEWART Partner, Grumley, Riley & Stewart, P.S.C. Stewart received his bachelor’s degree in Government from Centre College, where he was named valedictorian. He went on to graduate from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he was a staff member of the Kentucky Law Journal and graduated first in his class. After completing his education, Stewart returned home to begin his legal career. He joined Bradley, Freed & Grumley, P.S.C. (now known as Grumley, Riley & Stewart, P.S.C.), in 2014 and became a member of the firm in 2017. Stewart has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation. He was a member of Leadership Paducah Class #32, has served on the Kentucky Bar Association Strategic Planning Committee, and has volunteered with Summer Reading Camp.

ERIC STRAUB Partner, Whitlow, Roberts, Houston & Straub, PLLC Straub is a Partner with the law firm of Whitlow, Roberts, Houston & Straub, PLLC. Licensed in Kentucky and Illinois, his law practice concentrates in the areas of Wills, Trusts & Estates, probate, real estate transactions, and corporate work. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers as Rising Stars® consecutively from 2020-2024. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Socio-Political Communication from Missouri State University (Springfield, MO) in 2014, with an undergraduate certificate in Conflict and Dispute Resolution. Eric was a scholarship athlete on the Missouri State Men’s Golf team and was recognized by the Golf Association of America as an All-American Scholar his senior year. He earned his J.D. from the J. David Rosenburg University of Kentucky College of Law in 2017. A Paducah native and Heath High School graduate (2009), Eric is a past President of the Rotary Club of Paducah (’22-’23), has served on the Paducah Young Professionals steering committee (’18-’21), and the American Cancer Society’s Dancing with our Stars committee, after participating and being named Co-Champion in 2019. Eric currently serves on the Paducah Junior College Foundation Board of Trustees, is President-Elect of the McCracken County Bar Association, and participates in the United Way of Paducah PALS program. Eric was honored with the 2022 Western Kentucky Young Leader Award presented by the Four Rivers Business Journal, the 2023 Young Professional Award by the J. David Rosenberg University of Kentucky College of Law and is a Duke of Paducah (2023). Eric and his wife, Emma, have two children, Emilia and EJ.
