PACIFIC WELCOME 2025

SATURDAY | AUG 16

PACIFIC WELCOME CHECK IN

8am–5pm | DeRosa University Center Ballroom

Check in at the DeRosa University Center where you will pick up your Pacific ID card and room key. You will need your Pacific ID card for the dining hall and access to your residence. Move-in time will be assigned by the Housing office.

All incoming new students will checkin for New Student Orientation. Students will receive an individualized schedule, orientation materials and Pacific Welcome swag bag. New students must wear their orientation badges to access program sessions, meals and activities.

PACIFIC PARENTS AND FAMILIES

8am–5pm | DeRosa University Center Ballroom

Are you a proud parent of a new Pacific Tiger? Stop by the Pacific Parents and Families table and learn how you can be involved as a partner in supporting your student throughout their journey

PARENT AND FAMILY SOCIAL

6–7:30pm | President's Residence Mingle with other parents and meet Pacific leadership at this special reception at the home of President Christopher Callahan and First Lady Jean Callahan.

LIBRARY TOURS

9–10am, 10:30–11:30am, Noon

William Knox Holt Memorial Library

Join us for a tour of the William Knox Holt Memorial Library. Find out how to get help with research and scope out the best plac es to study. Experience the services offered by the Student Academic Support Services Hub, The Cube and the X-Space. Tours will begin in the lobby of the library.

CAMPUS TOURS

Robert E. Burns Tower

A campus tour is the best way to experi ence all that Pacific has to offer. Campus tours are guided by students who will show you their favorite spots on Pacific’s historical campus. Tours will depart from Burns Tower.

the W-Curve, a model that helps explain the emotional journey many students experience during their first year. We'll also share tips and tools to help you support your student through every twist and turn.

Join your Orientation Leader for a guided tour of campus, highlighting the key resources that will support your student throughout their Pacific journey. Along the way, hear personal stories about how these spaces have shaped their own experience

President Christopher Callahan and his cabinet welcome new students and their families to University of the Pacific during this dinner reception. Note: All orientation attendees must wear their orientation badge to gain entry to food and drink lines at meals.

BUILDING A STRONG PACIFIC COMMUNITY

What does community mean to us at Pacific? Learn how Pacific’s commitments to social justice, equity and the common good are enacted through our practices and mission on and off campus and within our community. Our shared values of academic excellence, community engagement, diversity, integrity and accountability, civility and studentcentered learning demonstrate who we are as Pacificans and represent what we do best. Students will learn how our Pacific fosters their growth within an environment of innovation, inclusiveness and respect.

A FOCUS ON HEALTH AND WELLBEING

In this session, representatives from Counseling and Psychological Services and Student Health Services discuss the range of services available, from mental health support to medical care, helping students navigate campus and difficult situations.

THE PACIFIC EDUCATION

11–11:50am | Various Locations

The academic experience at Pacific is designed to make our students informed and engaged citizens who think critically, act ethically and communicate effectively. In this session, families will join breakout sessions with the school or college their students are enrolled in.

MONEY MATTERS AND FINANCING YOUR EDUCATION

1:30–2:20pm | Faye Spanos Concert Hall Hear from Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Pacific Card representatives to

learn how they can help you access services and get answers to questions about everything from financial aid requirements, billing, payments and more!

LIVING AND THRIVING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

2:30–3:25pm | DeRosa University Center Ballroom

This session will provide an overview for how students can develop healthy co-curricular habits, how the residential experience will foster their personal growth and ability to build meaningful connections and how students can access essential campus amenities in their home away from home.

SNACK BREAK

Join us for a quick break with light refreshments.

PARTNERS IN CAREER DEVELOPMENT

4–5pm | The Lair

Discover all the possibilities for your student’s career development that are offered at Pacific.

DINNER WITH THE DEANS, ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP AND FACULTY

5–6pm | Knoles Lawn

Families will join their students and academic leaders for a special gathering, seated together in celebration of this new beginning. At its close, parents, families and supporters will say farewell as students officially embark on their Pacific journey.
