Mezzo-soprano Kitty Whately is a regular favourite with Oxford Song audiences. For this recital, joined by the outstanding pianist Natalie Burch, she brings her 'captivating range of expression' (The Scotsman) to an inspired programme of English songs that includes works by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Rebecca Clarke.

A former Oxford Song Young Artist, Alessandro Fisher has since established himself as one of the leading tenors of his generation. The Kathleen Ferrier Award winner and BBC New Generation Artist joins pianist and Oxford Song's Artistic Director Sholto Kynoch for an unmissable performance of Schubert’s song cycle Die schöne Müllerin.

Over two days of audition recitals, eighteen exceptional emerging professional duos from around the UK will seek to become Oxford Song Young Artists. The standard is tremendously high, and this is a chance to hear the stars of the future, with a rich variety of repertoire and interpretations. These 25-minute recitals will run throughout the day with a break after every two recitals. Dip in for one or two, or immerse yourself in them all!

An enriching insight into the intersections of language, music, performer and audience. Presented in association with the University of Birmingham

RODERICK WILLIAMS & ROGER VIGNOLES 2:30pm – 4pm Levine Building, Trinity College Tickets £25 | Under 35s £5 The peerless baritone Roderick Williams and legendary song pianist Roger Vignoles cross nations and centuries to explore a landscape of the imagination – from the English coastline of Benjamin Britten, to the heights of Schubert’s Austrian Alps, via Debussy, Poulenc and Ives. Presented in association with Trinity College

YOUNG ARTIST PROGRAMME The Oxford Song Young Artist Programme offers a range of high-quality training and performance opportunities for exceptional singer-pianist duos in the early stages of their careers. Following the Spring Song audition recitals, eight selected duos will be offered fully funded places on October’s Mastercourse, as well as professional engagements for Oxford Song and with our partners both nationally and internationally, culminating in showcase recitals at the 2025 Festival. Our Young Artist Programme is generously supported by Jerwood Foundation and other charitable trusts and foundations.
