Many of you already know me — I’ve had the pleasure of being part of the Solivita family for almost eight years now! January marks my eighth anniversary, and just this past year, I proudly stepped into the role of Fitness Director. I want to sincerely thank all of you for your kind words, encouragement, and support as I’ve taken on this new chapter.
For those who are new to our community — welcome! I’d love to share a little bit about what we offer on the FitWell side of Solivita.
Every Wednesday, we host our Wellness Lecture Series, featuring a variety of valuable health topics, including:
» Wound care and diabetic management;
» Afterlife planning and cremation services;
» Ambulatory and stroke prevention screenings;
» Life and death insurance guidance;
» Nutrition and healthy living seminars;
» Eye care and dermatology services (available the first and last Friday of every month — check TownSquare for updates!);
» Quarterly lipid panel screenings sponsored by Advent Health; and
» Mobile mammogram services every six months.
Beyond education, we’re passionate about keeping our residents active and feeling their best. Our FitWell Fitness Team includes five certified trainers ready to help you reach your goals through our Fast Track Training Program, available in four or eight-week sessions, twice a week, with a free assessment included.
Across both of our state-of-the-art facilities, we offer over 90
fitness classes weekly, led by knowledgeable instructors who are here to motivate, guide, and support you every step of the way. From indoor pool classes and evening yoga, to Zumba, Pilates, Core Training, Cardio Boxing, and everyone’s favorite — Drums Alive (arrive early, it fills up fast!) — there’s truly something for everyone.
We also have some incredible annual community events you won’t want to miss:
» Our Annual Walk/Run, which takes place this year on February 28th at 9am, will honor the remarkable Tony Handler — who started it all. He was an inspiring symbol of strength, resilience, and perseverance within our community.
» In March, we’re proud to sponsor the Regional Qualifier for the State Pickleball Tournament, right here in Solivita! Thousands of players from across Florida will compete to qualify for state-level play. Come cheer them on March 10th, 11th, and 12th — it’s an exciting event you won’t want to miss!
» Our biggest wellness celebration of the year — the Annual Solivita Health Fair — will be held on October 21st, featuring over 60 vendors and growing each year!
We have so many amazing things planned for the year ahead, and I can’t wait to see you in the gym, in a class, or at one of our upcoming events. Remember — we are all a work in progress, but every step forward matters.
Keep moving, keep smiling, and never give up!

Committee Roundup FITWELL COMMITTEE
The FitWell Committee wishes everyone a Happy New Year! This time of year, the sun comes up late and disappears early, leaving our roads and sidewalks darker than usual. For your safety and the safety of others, we recommend wearing bright colors or a visible light that drivers can easily spot. Make yourself seen. A friendly reminder: sidewalks are shared spaces. According to a Florida State Statute, the priority is walkers first, cyclists second, and golf carts third. Be courteous. Be aware. Be considerate.
