Happy New Year!
As we transition into the new year at Esplanade at Center Lake Ranch, I would like to wish you all a healthy, prosperous and fantastic year! We have many exciting things this year to look forward to… from our Venue grand opening to Signature Events and full activity calendars. We are going to have a busy but amazing year!
As we continue to shape, mold and build our community, I would like to remind all of our Members to please continue giving ideas and inspirations for events. It helps the Lifestyle team curate experiences! I would also like to remind all Members to please register for events, this allows the Lifestyle team to properly prepare in advance.
Winter is upon us once again, with cozy moments, and chilly nights we have many events that can be enjoyed throughout this time! Such as our whiskey tasting, sips & wicks and chilly morning wellness strolls that pair well with a warm coffee or cocoa!
As we bring in the Month of Love - February - we have many events catered to all! From best friends to couples and even singles! We’ll have charcuterie board workshops, floral design classes and even couple inspired Member Minglers, we look forward to seeing you all there!

In each edition, we will spotlight a Member, couple or family to showcase the amazing people that call our community home. We were born and raised in Ohio and lived in Davenport for many years. We are excited to be moving to Saint Cloud to be closer to family. We’ve been together for 50 years and married for 47. We have a son, a daughter, and two grandsons, ages 5 and 8, who we love spending time with—whether it’s at Disney, parks, or cheering them on at sports and extracurricular activities like jujitsu.
We love staying active! We enjoy pickleball, playing at a leisureintermediate level, as well as volleyball, swimming, working out, and flying drones. Rick is retired from sales, aviation software and piloting.
When it came time to find a 55+ community, we explored several options—including Del Webb and other Twin Lake communities— but nothing felt quite right. After some online research, Esplanade caught our eye, and visiting Center Lake Ranch sealed the deal. We loved the boutique design, the thoughtful layout, and being surrounded by family-friendly spaces and kids. Meeting with Ryan during the sales process was a great experience, and we felt the team truly considered our needs.
Linda is a travel agent of 36 years and loves to cook. We travel extensively—this past year alone included Croatia, Hawaii, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand—and we have one bigger trip planned for January before settling in. We enjoy longer, immersive trips such as cruises in Cancun, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Linda looks forward to starting a cooking and wine club within the community.
We’re excited to meet everyone at Center Lake Ranch, make new friends, and get involved in community activities. Rick is especially interested in helping implement comedy club nights, while Linda would love to travel with fellow Members through Destinations by Esplanade. Together, we’re looking forward to enjoying all the social, recreational, and family-friendly opportunities the community offers.

Iwas born in Michigan and grew up in Detroit and Florida. I’ve been in sales for 40 years, starting in real estate in 1995. I started buying and selling homes in mid to late ‘90s and owned and sold two companies. I enjoy working at Esplanade because I like seeing the way it changes and enhances people’s everyday life, and the Members are cool. I’m a single father of a 14-year-old daughter starting in high school and in my life, there is no down time! I’m excited about the things that are coming to Esplanade at Center Lake Ranch, and I look forward to seeing how the community grows!

Help Backyard Wildlife
Winter is here and it’s a perfect time to spend a Green Hour® helping backyard wildlife thrive throughout the season. Many of the beneficial insects, birds, and small animals in your backyard may find it harder to find shelter, water, and food in the coming months. You can help by simply placing a shallow dish of water in a sunny spot in your backyard. If you place a container on the ground, add a rock or two near the edge to help smaller creatures crawl out. Cozy Winter Spiced Apple Crisp
Patrick Scully, the Esplanade National Director of Food, Beverage & Culinary Experience is partnering with the Lifestyle team to bring you a delicious start to the new year. Our winter calendar is filled with opportunities to taste, learn, and explore. Stay tuned—warm, flavorful experiences are coming your way! In the mean time, try out this cozy dessert to comfort you up this winter season!
FILLING INGREDIENTS
» 5 - 6 apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
» 2 tablespoons lemon juice
» 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
» ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
» ¼ cup sugar
» 1 tablespoon flour
CRUMBLE TOPPING INGREDIENTS
» ¾ cup rolled oats
» ½ cup flour
» ½ cup brown sugar
» ½ cup cold butter, cubed
» ¼ tsp salt
» Chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
3. In a bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and flour. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
4. Begin preparing the topping by combining oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt.
5. Cut in the cold butter using a fork or your fingers until the mixture becomes crumbly. Stir in nuts (if applicable).
6. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
7. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the apples are tender and bubbling around the edges.
8. Let cool slightly before serving.
9. Serving idea: Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for the perfect cozy winter dessert.

Sometimes, the smallest ambient moments have the biggest impact on how we feel.
We’ve all heard of HIIT (high intensity interval training), but what about HIRT? If you’re not familiar with high intensity resistance training, get ready to learn how this type of workout can boost the results you get from weight training. The fundamental principle of HIRT is using short, intense periods of resistance training (performed with a lot of effort and focus) plus enough recovery time between sessions.
