OUR SUPPORTERS

There is a misconception that Outward Bound is only for young people, sent here to be straightened out. This is far from the truth. An important foundation of OB is that all students are here by their own choice, that they want to be here. Yes, we love developing youth into confident and resilient adults, but what might surprise many, is that most of our students are aged 18+yrs.

We value diversity; any age, gender, ethnicity, or religion. To date our oldest student was 84! Know someone who is keen to beat that record? Send them our way!

Here are the key attributes that make for a great Outward Bound student:

Open to Learning

Above anything else, you need to be open to the process of learning more about yourself and working in a team. This is not to say that you won’t find working in close quarters with others challenging… but being open to what is on offer is fundamental to making the most of your Outward Bound course.

Open to Getting Involved

The more you put into your course, the more you will take away. Giving things a go is pivotal to the success of your OB experience.

A Base Level of Health

You do not have to be an athlete to get the most out of your course but ensuring you are physically and mentally in good shape will support you to reach the best course outcomes.
