Words cannot begin to express the level of gratitude we have for those who have stopped through, called and inquired about the cattle, and have started to flip through the catalog for our Fall sale which focuses on the female. Ben and I graduated from Texas Tech in the Spring of 2010, and we both decided to continue our education Ben went to Vet School, and I got my Masters in beef cattle nutrition. After grad school, we started building the cow herd and genetic lines we knew we could count on to get us to the point we are today. The cattle you see before you are the results of our beginning … from starting with one cow ten years ago and building them piece-by-piece. We trust the pedigrees of the cattle we’ve added, and we knew they weren’t going to let us down phenotypically.

You will find this catalog stacked with pedigrees of some of the most influential cow families and trusted genetics we could gather. JAS CRIB HERITAGE 102H’s freshman year is on display throughout the sale, and his influence ranges from ½ bloods to purebreds. There is something to be said about putting a dominant power cow in the top side of the pedigree; it’s something we both feel very strongly about. We had no idea when we purchased his mother, a HIGH REGARD/ LNL/8543 in 2017, the impact she would make. As a first calf heifer, her flush to W/C RELENTLESS and made seven (7) embryos. In that flush resided HERITAGE. We are so thankful we have him because that winter we lost ROSE in a fluke accident. Her influence resides throughout the females before you, including a maternal sister sired by W/C BANKROLL. All of this gives us renewed faith in not only the first-generation quality, but also their generating value for the families and operations that acquire them.

Located on the corner of SD Hwy 30 and 478th Avenue, just south of the White, SD city limits. From Brookings, go North on I29 to Exit 140 (SD Hwy 30). Travel East 5 miles to 478th Avenue. The farm sits kitty corner to Corner Gas & Goodies.

TERMS

All cattle sell under the terms and conditions of their respected breed associations. Settlement for purchases at the conclusion of the sale must be done through Show Circuit Online Sales. Cattle sell in sound health and are the responsibility of the purchaser at the conclusion of the sale. If a problem does occur, we reserve the right to fix the problem.

EMBRYOS + SEMEN

Embryos are sold in lots of 3. We guarantee one pregnancy, if embryos are placed by a certified technician. Some embryos are available immediately, and others will have different availability dates. All semen and embryos are stored at either Custom Livestock Solutions in Athens, Georgia; ABS in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; or Dandy Acres Enterprises in Pipestone, Minnesota. For details on the IVF flush, please reference that specific lot. The cost of shipping embryos and semen falls on the buyer.

DELIVERY

We will deliver all cattle purchased for over $3,500, free of charge, along the route from Brookings, SD to Plant City, FL. We will also deliver to Kansas City during the American Royal. For all other locations, we will work to help line-up delivery options.

This female has a unique story – it’s the culmination of two-story lines from the backbone of the cow herd presented before you actually. “546” is a maternal sister to RBM TWO STEP that sold to Werning Cattle and Kenny Cattle for an evaluation of $60,000. An owned daughter of SAC Conversation, she has cemented her place in our operation. Lot 1’s sire, HERITAGE comes from the Simmental lines we rely heavily on. When he was a yearling, I called Corey Thomsen and told him I had a Simmental bull I wanted to promote and collect semen on. I wanted to run him down to 605 on a walk-in day and jump him. Cory said that yearlings don’t usually take to the dummy, and very rarely do they collect on the first try. He suggested I let him jump something prior to bringing him in. I had left “546” open that previous year, so I ran him in the lot with her and gave her a shot of lutylase, and a day later he figured things out. A few days after, I ran him down to 605. He jumped and froze a little over 130 units that day. The rest is pretty much history. People use the word elite far too often to describe cattle. The word should be reserved for the generators, the high fertility cattle, the ones that are so correct in their power to structure and look ratio. The ones that are undeniable in their quality. The youngest purebred in the offering and with three shots of 8543 her pedigree, she is bred for look and quality. Extremely unique in her presence and bold and correct in her rib cage, she has all the pieces – including a flexible lower skeleton that should position her to be competitive. She’s the first of two Heritage purebred daughters in the offering. And though younger, she’s just as rooted in quality as the other one!

This direct daughter of IGWT is an example of why he works so well in a Char Composite scenario. She’s soft in her hair quality and correct in her build. I think she sits perfectly in the middle of looking breeding cattle enough to be shown and yet stout enough to generate and create revenue long after her competitive show career is over!

When Jesse was a year old, my dad wanted to buy him a cow to get started with. I had just taken my job with the Maine-Anjou Association, and I was driving to Black Hills Stock Show. I made a stop at Miles and Kim DeJong’s place to see them and check out their private treaty bred heifers. When I laid eyes on 36E, I knew I had found Jesse’s cow. We own two direct daughters of Ranch Hand, and neither have ever let me down. This female has been a fan favorite all summer. Pictured with her mother in a support photo, you can see that female quality is generational and it’s potent. I told Abbie the other day, “We aren’t supposed to have favorites.” But when I think about skeletal quality, density, and punch along with a look of female making from the side, I can’t help but get pumped up about Lot 12. The fact that she’s a ¾ only betters the options of trying to make purebred seedstock after the show career is finished.

I can’t explain how much quality resides in her lower skeleton. Awesome feet, the correct set to her ankle, and perfect in the build of her shoulder and front knee assembly. Long-term probability with Broker in her pedigree and sired by S.A.M., it’s going to be a can’t miss decision to snag Lot 13.

Extreme in the presence though her front-end with a beautiful head shape. She is long in her spine, and so correct in her structure that even the toughest critics will struggle to fault her build. She’s out of an Insight purebred Angus cow, and we all know that’s one of the strongest lines of Angus genetics for generating. I think this one will only get better with time, and she’s built to last

We can’t think of a better way to make purebreds than to offer Bankroll embryos out of W/C MISS WERNING 963G. Taking a ¾ female that is built perfect in her skeleton to as much pin width as you can cram into is a perfect recipe to make purebreds. Bankroll is sure to add a shot more power and keep the wheels. I’m a firm believer that Broker has and will continue to make a strong impact in the Simmental breed. This donor female has the all the right things he does and comes with a little extra. A few years back, Donny Begalka bought a bred heifer from Griswold sired by Double Good, a Cerveza son. That female is the donor dam to this one, and the mother to the high selling Simmental bull in Griswold’s sale this past Spring sired by Bankroll. This female is stout – stout skulled, stout boned, stout pinned. She comes with all the rib shape and flex you can ask for. These embryos sired by TRCC Pandemic should pay dividends and with all the donor cow backing and quality around them, they should prove to be predictable! Embryos available immediately.

Mating Rose to Relentless stacked 8543 and Utah again on the other side and built a pedigree that translated to a purebred Simmental bull that can be held accountable because he was built with focus and direction. His first calves have averaged in the 70s and have all the presence and power you would ever want. Heritage, himself, is stout in his skull and jowl, extended through his front end, and his neck comes right off the top of his shoulder blade built with slope and comfort. Big in his kind and stout in his build, we think Heritage will only improve the next generation in the direction we’re heading!
