This year’s genetic directory highlights the progress we’ve made over the last year. The cattle within the pages represent where we’ve been, where we are, and where we are headed. Abbie, the kids, and I have tried to stay focused not only on the progress for us but the impact our operation can make for others. Moving the needle and making an impact is the root of what we do as a family and it’s important to us that the cattle and genetics we put forth can do that for those who use them and are committed to incorporating them. We are thankful to the partners we have and for the ability to offer a powerful genetic line-up we think will fit a variety of desired outcomes!

As a calf, I knew he was different. When Mike stopped by this past Summer, he agreed and that has led us to now. When I weaned him, the hardest thing I’ve done to this point in our operation was loading him on a trailer to head to Tecumsah, but it’s been worth the ride!
An owned son of Broker, that commanded $200,000 in the 15th Annual Hartman Cattle Company Bull Sale, and out of what we believe will be a dominate donor in the coming years sired by Currency, whose creation of LANDMAN propelled her into Embryos on Snow! LANDMAN’S look, size, muscle system, and body shape we believe are positioned to pick up where Broker left off!

Heritage JAS CRIBBS
HERITAGE has proven the decisions we’ve made over the last decade were right, and The Direction we took came full circle over the last few years. His daughters have commanded an average of $11,500, with a high seller of $36,000 in our 2022 Fall Sale. The list of donor cows he can be traced to are the root of fertility.
8543 needs no introduction for Simmetnal enthusiasts. 3028 has made her own mark, as a direct daughter sired by Lock n Load. And Rose, who we lost, was sired by High Regard and throws another storeied program with Yardley into the mix. Mating Rose to Relentless stacked 8543 and Utah again on the other side, and built a pedigree that translated to a purebred Simmental bull that can be held accountable because he was built with focus and direction.
His calves average a BW in the 70s and have all the presence and power you would ever want. HERITAGE, himself, was stout in his skull and jaw, extended through his front end, and his neck came right off the top of his shoulder blade with slope and comfort.

LAST CALL is SURE FIRE calving ease. We have used him with great confidence the last couple years and he’s proved to turn the dial to not only come easy but generate pounds at the weaning pen. 2024’s calf crop came off of grass mid-seven weights!
His mother is exactly what we’re after when it comes to foundation cows. Her udder is perfect. Her feet and structural build are elite, and those things in relation to her pin width is truly unique.
LAST CALL is truly elite in his skeleton and good looking. We know he has what it takes to make the next generation better.
Last Call
While Josh was at Griswold’s Grass to Grid Bull Sale in 2022, he ran across an Angus bull he felt would fit the cow herd we’ve built and something he knew we could trust to make the next generation better! It only made the acquisition more significant when we were able to form a partnership with Rob and Sheryl Vanhove - and so, we snagged DIPLOMAT.
Out of the famed CCC Sara’s Dream 5166 cow of Barry Nowatzke’s and sired by BNWZ Specialty, Diplomat is a 3/4 brother to BNWZ Dignity 8107 and full sib to the Reserve Champion Female at The Atlantic National in 2024.
Perfect in his skeleton, tall shouldered, and incredible in his body shape; we think he’s positioned to make cattle better. And with the prolific donors in his pedigree, he’s backed by faemale generating power.

In breeding livestock, pushing the needle requires selection pressure toward a constantly moving goal. Small incremental changes are made by large swings of what is relevant and profitable at that moment. For us, the pursuit to maximize the power-to-strucutre ratio of breeding cattle has always been the focus and right down the middle of the road.
Sometimes, not using the one deemed popular by others, but rather what fits the desired result. All that has led us to this point; we are excited to offer a son of Heritage - making him the 4th generation we’ve been a part of!
My Terms
We have been searching for an outlier and we found him! REBEL YELL is a direct son of EC Rebel 156F and comes from the Broker x Hairetta donor located at Wes Keller’s. He’s positioned to add uncompromising bone density and foot size, along with true squareness and presence!
A 3/4 with no direct 8543 on either side of his pedigree, plus he has the added hair quality and body shape we are after to inject! REBEL YELL is a statement against the status quo for making purebred and higher percentage Simmental cattle. We couldn’t be happier to be partnered with Reimann Ranch, and first calf reports look awesome.

It is hard to put into words what 546 means to us around here. A year ago, we sent her to Georgia and Ben went to making conventional embryos to build a base that will be tracked back to this cow family. Her fertility is off the charts and it shows in the inventory he amassed.
Her natural calf by CRIB Heritage was named Champion Percentage Female at the 2024 Simbrah-Simmental Super Bowl Show in San Antonio - she commanded $36,000 in The Direction Fall Female Sale in 2022. That same year, 546 had a pair of Broker daughters that averaged $20,000 in the same sale. In 2023, her five Bankroll daughters averaged $12,000.
To date, 546 has grossed $250,000 in just under 4 years, and we’re just getting started.
It’s important to note that PENNY was popular around here long before she created CRIB Landman. But he certainly cemented her in the lead of the donor battery in the coming years!
100 is perfect in her build, body and power for a purebred Simmental female. Her muscle system incorporated into a her length of spine and body mass makes her the perfect denominator in purebred mating. Those things in concert with her genetic prepotency and the fact that she’s been a constant generator, place her in the driver’s seat going forward!

138J is a Bankroll daughter out of the Wheelman cow that originated at Owen Brothers in Missouri and led the Bred for Success sale for RJ and Plamp Farms a few years back. There have been multiples of this mating, but to date this one has had the most unique combination of look and presence with added bone and foot size.
We didn’t get to use her as much her first year because of her calving late, but this fall we will offer a group of daughters by Coping With Destiny and Emmence that will write her history moving forward!

184G earned her way into the donor battery pretty quickly by replacing Heritage for us. In the Fall of 2022 we lost Heritage to hardware and although that was a set back, he had covered cows that Summer including 184G. When she gave birth to My Terms that spring, I snapped Ben that I was pretty sure I replaced Heritage.
The 2025 calf crop will be his freshman year, and it looks like he going to prove me right! 184G is a stout, perfect built daughter of Broker and with a shot of Cerveza in her pedigree, out of the Double Good donor of Begalka’s herself. She is generationally backed to be proven and productive!
Grace
FAITH to this point anchors the other half of our Angus donor battery and is a direct daughter of First Class. The bottom side of her pedigree traces back to one of the most prolific maternal lines in the Angus breed to Right Time.
Her size, power and structure, combined with a loaded Angus pedigree, has positioned her to be a strong generator to this point in her career at our place!

When you’re young and trying to find your start, it seems like you run across something you want so badly you can taste it, but it’s just out of your reach. That’s the case with us and 3028 or “Big Red Fluffy Ears”, as she’s so fondly referred to.
BIG RED was a flush sister to W/C Bullseye and was in the same pasture at Chris Plamp’s when we first saw her as a calf. Fast foward two years, and we were able to purcahse a High Regard daughter campaigned by Anna Scott who was the mother to JAS CRIB Heritage.
In our opinion, being one generation away from 8543 is the perfect spot to inject outcross pedigress and create cattle that have true Simmental performance and still come with look and predictability. BIG RED has proven time and time again that she can make functional cattle that have the look to generate and be competitive. We’re so thankful, with time, that we were asked to be owners on this female with RJ Cattle Co and Plamp Farms.

963 made her way to the donor battery as a first calf heifer, right after she gave us Last Call. We went to Werning’s with the idea of finding a ¾ that’s structure, body and power was an outlier ... that led us to 963.
A direct daughter of CEO she is perfect balance of genetic markers and phenotypic power. We plan to lean on her a great deal in the coming years, as we try and build more predictable power into the cow base!
