BIOGRAPHIES
Lenny Leibowitz (Director) is in his tenth year as a member of the Otterbein Theatre faculty. Since his arrival in Westerville, Lenny has directed Forever Plaid, Cabaret, Our Town, The Pirates of Penzance, Side by Side by Sondheim, The Pajama Game, An Enemy of the People, Guys & Dolls, Oklahoma!, My Fair Lady, Into the Woods, Baby, Clybourne Park, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Top Girls, Fiddler on the Roof, Radium Girls, Hay Fever, and Adding Machine: A Musical. Lenny will next be directing The Last Five Years for The Contemporary in Columbus. As founding artistic director of Marvell Rep, Off-Broadway, Lenny directed 11 productions, including The Threepenny Opera, which received a Drama Desk nomination for Best Revival of a Musical. Other New York directing credits include the world premiere of Brian Yorkey’s Making Tracks, which ran Off-Broadway at Rockefeller Center’s Taipei Theater. Lenny has directed at some of the nation’s leading regional theatres including the Olney Theatre, the National Players, the Huntington Theatre’s Breaking Ground Festival, and the New Harmony Theatre, where he was artistic director for four years. A Philadelphia native, he made his professional debut as a piano soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He received his B.A. from Columbia University and his M.F.A. from Boston University. Member, SDC and AEA.
Lori Kay Harvey (Music Director) is an Associate Professor of music at Otterbein University. She has music directed over 40 shows in central Ohio and throughout the US and has performed extensively as an actor/singer/dancer on both national and international tours and in numerous regional theatres. Recent Otterbein credits include Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812, 9 to 5, Bright Star, A Little Night Music, and Something Rotten. Tour credits: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grease . Regional: Next to Normal, Beauty and the Beast, Jekyll and Hyde, The Taffetas, Camelot, The Who’s Tommy, Damn Yankees, Brigadoon, Carousel, The Desert Song and The Good War. Concert credits: Soprano soloist with Westerville Symphony, Springfield Symphony and Newark-Granville Symphony, Columbus Dance Theatre, Mozart “Requiem” with The National Chorale (Avery Fisher Hall). Recordings: Puttin’ On the Ritz with Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra (Carnegie Hall and recorded on TELARC label), and The Magical Music of Disney (Cincinnati Music Hall and Circle Theatre, IN, recorded on TELARC label and GRAMMY- nominated). Television credits: Sex in the City, Guiding Light, Mel Torme’s Christmas Special, and various commercials and industrials. Education: BS in Voice Performance and Theatre from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Member of Actor’s Equity Association. Anna Elliott (Choreographer) Born and raised in Ohio, Anna began studying dance at an early age. She has extensive training in tap, jazz, ballet and musical theater. Anna became a Radio City Rockette at the age of 18 and was fortunate enough to be a part of this legendary group of women for 8 years. While with the Rockettes she performed on the Today Show, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting. You can find her in the 75th Celebration Edition book titled Radio City Spectacular. Anna was also a part of the ensemble in the First National Broadway Tour of 42nd Street choreographed by Randy Skinner and performed in many theaters across the country. Currently, Anna is a member of the dance faculty here at Otterbein University where she teaches tap, jazz and ballet. She has had the honor of being a part of the very well-known department of theater and dance since 2013. As a faculty member, she has choreographed for dance concerts: Move Me, Gloriously Grimm and Escape to Wonderland. She was the Associate Choreographer next to Stella Hiatt Kane for Otterbein’s

Isaac Ramsey (Scenic Designer) is the Associate Professor of Scenic Design and joined the theatre and dance faculty in 2022. He teaches courses in Scenic Design, Scenic Painting, Computer Graphics, and Period Styles in addition to mentoring student designers and painters. At Otterbein, Isaac has designed scenery for Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812, The Importance of Being Earnest, Beehive, 9 to 5, Cabaret, Everybody, Bright Star, Dance 2022: Find Me in the Shadows, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Prior to coming to Otterbein, Isaac served as the Associate Professor of Scenic Design at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA where he designed many productions including Green Day’s American Idiot, Puffs, Ride the Cyclone, and A Doll’s House Part 2. He is active in several professional organizations and is a regular presenter at the Southeastern Theatre Conference, where he has taught workshops on 3D Printing, Model Making, and Rendering in Procreate. He has designed regionally at the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Actor’s Express (ATL), and The Contemporary Theatre of Ohio here in Columbus. Isaac is a central Ohio native and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Miami University and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut. Rebecca White (Costume Designer) Rebecca holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. Specializing in Costume Design, Clothing History, Costume Crafts, and Stage Makeup, Rebecca has been leading the costume area at Otterbein since 2007. In addition to numerous Otterbein University productions, she has had the privilege to design or construct costumes for The Santa Fe Opera, Otterbein Summer Theatre, Denison University, Short North Stage, the Minnesota Centennial Showboat, Park Square Theatre, The Milwaukee Rep, and internationally for equine performer Luke Gingerich. Rebecca is the Director of Design & Technology at Otterbein and leads the student recruitment efforts for all designers, artisans, technicians, and stage managers that make Otterbein productions look, sound, and run so brilliantly. Some of Rebecca’s favorite costume designs at Otterbein include School for Scandal, A little Night Music, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which received a Peggy Ezekiel Award of Outstanding Achievement from the USITT Ohio Valley Section.
TJ Gerckens (Lighting Designer) is the lighting faculty member at Otterbein, a USA829 Lighting Designer, and an Otterbein alumnus. At Otterbein, he designed the lighting for Natasha…, 9 to 5, Bright Star, Dance 2022: Find me in the Shadows (with Luca Fragiotta/Sage Wuertzer), A Gentleman’s Guide….., Into a Lamplit Room, Dance 2020: The Wild Within (with John Diver), Chicago, Oklahoma!, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Diary of Anne Frank, Adding Machine: A Musical, Damn Yankees, Dance 2016: The Goddess, The Crucible, Fiddler on the Roof, Dance 2015: Famously Yours...Forever, Dance 2014: Tell-Tale Poe, and Into the Woods. T.J. has been part of the design team for the Tony Award winner and MacArthur “Genius” Mary Zimmerman for 30+ years. Kitty Mader (Sound Designer/Lighting & Sound Supervisor) is a sound designer and engineer from Avon, Ohio. She received her BFA in Design and Technology for theatre from Otterbein in 2022 and is currently the department’s Lighting and Sound Supervisor. Kitty has worked in renowned theatres such as TexARTS in Lakeway, Texas (Sound Designer), Otterbein Summer Theatre (Sound Designer/Lighting and Sound Supervisor), Weston Theater in Weston, Vermont (Assistant Audio Supervisor), The Great Lakes Theater in Cleveland, Ohio (A2), and the Bard Summerscape Music and Opera Festival in upstate New York (Audio Assistant). She has sound designed many Otterbein productions, including Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 (2024), Everybody (2023), Cabaret (2023), Bright Star (2023), and Black Comedy (2022). Other productions Kitty has worked on include 9 to 5 (TexARTS, 2023), Marry Me a Little, Hair (Weston, 2022), The 39 Steps (Great Lakes, 2022), and Le Roi Arthus (Bard, 2021). Hannah Hahn (Production Manager) joined the Theatre & Dance faculty/staff in the fall of 2022 as the Production Manager and Stage Management Mentor. She teaches and mentors student stage managers along with production-related duties. Hannah’s most recent local stage management credits include: The Importance of Being Earnest (Otterbein), Skeleton Crew (The Contemporary Theatre of Ohio), Rigoletto (Opera Columbus), and I Do! I Do! (Otterbein Summer Theatre). Additionally, Hannah stage manages the CAPA Marquee Awards Showcase each year – a Columbus-based theatre education program that feeds into the national Jimmy Awards for high school students. She has worked with the program in many capacities since its inaugural year in 2019. She enjoys teaching and sharing her experiences as a stage manager through workshops and Thespy adjudication at various state Thespian Festivals and International Thespian Festival each year. You might even catch her as a CAPA House Manager at the Riffe Center Theatre Complex or the historic Southern Theatre. Melinda Murphy (Voice and Movement Coach) teaches Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais Method® in the Otterbein Theatre and Dance Department, with application to movement, voice, characterization, singing, and dance. Melinda is one of the few teachers trained in both methods; she combines them in her private practice in Columbus, and in classes and seminars for performing artists at other Ohio colleges. Since coming to Otterbein, she also trained to teach Fitzmaurice Voice work for its specialized tools for improving the voice and breath. Melinda has coached Otterbein productions since the turn of the century. She has also coached equestrians, figure skaters, musicians, and competitive barbershop quartets and choruses, including the two-time international gold medalist Southern Gateway Chorus.

Patrick Stone (Technical Director) began his tenure as the Technical Director at Otterbein in the fall of 2014. He holds an MFA from the University of South Dakota and a Bachelor of Arts from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. He is an ETCP certified Theatrical Rigger. He teaches classes in stagecraft, properties, metal working, technical direction, wood working, and motion scenery. Patrick also enjoys consulting with theatres ranging from professional through junior high school. He would like to teach the world to dance, as soon as he learns how to himself.
Jeanine Thompson (Theatrical Intimacy Director) Jeanine is honored to be returning to Otterbein as the Theatrical Intimacy Director for Footloose and to be working with the wonderful production team and cast. Her previous production work at Otterbein includes Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812, The Importance of Being Earnest, 9 to 5, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cabaret, I Do! I Do!, Baby, Our Town, and A Little Night Music. Jeanine is an Emeritus Professor of OSU’s Department of Theatre, who specializes in performance, directing, movement, theatrical intimacy, and creation of new works. Her artistry has been greatly influenced by her work with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company, Dance Theatre choreographer, John Giffin, and the French mime artist, Marcel Marceau.
Nick Abouzeid (Ensemble/Chuck Cranston Understudy) is a junior BFA Musical Theatre major from Warwick, RI. Nick is so excited to be a part of Footloose! You may recently have seen him on the Otterbein stage in Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812 (Anatole), 9 to 5 (Joe), and Bright Star (Billy Cane). When he isn’t performing, you can find Nick playing football and taking long after school naps. Kinsey Calderone (Ensemble/ Urleen Understudy) is a BFA Musical Theatre major with a Public Relations minor from Lexington, NC. Kinsey is always grateful to be on the Cowan stage. When she’s not working three survival jobs, in a rehearsal room or filming self-tapes, she practices overthinking, the quest for the perfect powdered donut, and the art of napping. Seamus Clark (Travis/ Ren Understudy) is a freshman BFA Musical Theatre major from Wilmington, DE. This is Seamus’ debut on the Cowan Hall Stage! He recently was a student dramaturge in Otterbein’s production of The Laramie Project. Melody Cohen (Rusty) is a junior Musical Theatre major with a Race and Ethnic Studies minor from San Francisco, CA. Dennis Davenport (Keyboard 2) is a Professor of Music at Otterbein. He teaches in the BFA musical theatre program and in general education for the First Year Experience, Honors, and Senior Year Experience programs. Recent music direction includes I Do! I Do!, Baby, Pirates of Penzance, Forever Plaid and Beehive: The 60’s Musical for Otterbein Summer Theatre, and The Pajama Game and Cabaret for Otterbein Theatre & Dance.
Zeke Davenport (Light Board Op) is a freshman BFA Design/Technology major from Westerville, OH. Tomasz Jarzecki (Drums), originally from Poland, is a Columbus based drummer/ percussionist. He is a graduate of University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, where he completed BM and MM in percussion performance. Tomasz is a selfproclaimed “jack-of-all-genres,” and likes to perform in various musical settings. From a symphony stage to a country band stand, he’s done it. Tomasz can be seen performing regularly for Otterbein University’s theatre productions, OSU opera productions, Columbus Children Theatre, as well as smaller productions throughout the city. On a national level, he was a percussionist for two national tours of the 2001 Broadway revival of the musical Oklahoma! He has played drums for many local bands, including Juke Joint Saints, Christy Angeletti Band, Ray Massa’s Eurorhythms, In Full Swing Big Band, Clavesonic Latin Jazz Project, Big Rockin’ Blues Band, and others. As of 2024, Tomasz is in his 6th year teaching as an adjunct at Otterbein’s Music department where he has taught Percussion Methods class to BME freshmen students, percussion lessons to both majors and non-majors, and has directed the Otterbein University Percussion Ensemble.

Ana Kusenberger (Ethel McCormack) is a junior BFA Musical Theatre major from San Antonio, TX. She is excited to be returning to Cowan Hall for a show set in her favorite decade: the 80s! You may have seen Ana in Beehive as Laura/Janis Joplin, a role for which she received the “Best Performance of the Year (Adult) 2024” award from the Arts Council of Westerville. Brian T. Lang (Tenor Sax, Bari. Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Harmonica) hailing from Westerville, is a multiple woodwind specialist who has spent much of the last 10 years touring with national and international productions including Cats the Musical, The Color Purple, Elf: The Musical, In the Mood: Live, The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, and The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. He has performed in all 50 states and many countries including most recently (summer of 2024) a tour of China with the musical Annie. Nora Root (Draper) is a BA Theatre and English major with an Art minor from Hilliard, OH. Nora is so excited to be working on this show with such a talented cast and crew. Dave Shelton (Bass Guitar) is a jazz bass instructor at Otterbein who graduated from New School University (NYC) with a B.F.A. in Jazz Performance, with the double bass as his primary instrument, in 2008. While living in NYC, Shelton performed with a wide array of artists including Charles Bradley, Sly5thAve, Jay Jennings (Snarky Puppy), Melanie Charles and rising country star, Denitia. After moving to Columbus in 2018, Shelton quickly became a mainstay on the local jazz and R&B scenes, performing with Bobby Floyd, Mary McClendon, Shawn “Dr.Thunder” Wallace, Laura Camara, Eddie Bayard, and Vaughn Weister’s Famous Jazz Orchestra. Shelton has also performed at the Jazz and Rib Fest, the CBUS Soul Fest, and at the Columbus Commons Summer Stage with The Deal Breakers, which is a collective of local musicians playing Go-Go, a percussion-heavy funk music that originated in Washington D.C..
Keliah Schertz (Ensemble/Understudy Ethel) is a junior BFA Musical Theatre major with a Dance minor from Peoria, IL. Drew Stedman (Guitar 2) Music has been Drew Stedman’s primary passion his entire life. He is a versatile multi-instrumentalist with a particular talent for songwriting and composition. Drew has been part of the Columbus music scene for over a decade, and is known for performing with several local acts including The Liner Notes, Vivid Garden, The Cosmic Nothings, and Ancient Peach. Drew has also performed throughout the United States. He had the pleasure of opening for Shakey Graves at the Redwood in Los Angeles. He also performed with The Royal Band, as well as the artist, James Apollo, providing support on tour for the indie-rock band Lord Huron. More recently, Drew has performed on guitar, bass, and classical guitar in productions by Short North Stage, CATCO, and Opera Columbus, including Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, The Carole King Musical, The Wild Party, Head Over Heels, 9 to 5: The Musical, and La Traviata Drew is currently completing work on several recording projects.
Joel Steward (Drums) holds a BM in Jazz Performance from Capital University and has been playing professionally since he was 15, performing everything from pop, jazz, rock and big band to musical theatre, orchestral, and concert band music. He is currently the drummer for The Hip Replacements, a 7-piece soul/Motown band. He has also performed with The Contemporary Theatre of Ohio, Vaughn Weister’s Famous Jazz Orchestra, The New Basics Brass Band, The Newark Civic Symphony, The Central Ohio Symphony, VaudVillities Bravo Musical Revue, and Player’s Theatre of Columbus.
Eric Stratton (Bass) is a bassist and guitarist from Westerville, Ohio. He graduated from Otterbein University in 2019 with degrees in Double Bass Performance and Jazz Studies, and enjoys playing a variety of genres, ranging from classical to jazz to rock and metal. Musical theatre is one of Eric’s favorite performing opportunities, and his credits include Short North Stage, Columbus Children’s Theatre, and the Contemporary Theatre of Ohio. Eric is also a piano tuner and technician serving the Central Ohio Area.
Paige Vick (Lead Electrician/Assistant Lighting Designer) is a senior BFA Design/ Technology major with a Philosophy minor from Ellicott City, MD. LATECOMER POLICY
The House Manager may seat latecomers only during times which minimize disruption of the performance.
EMERGENCY EXITS
The exits are indicated by red lights. In the event of fire or any other emergency, please walk – do not run – to the exit as directed by theatre management.
CAMERAS AND RECORDING DEVICES
The use of recording equipment and the taking of photographs during the performance are strictly prohibited.
RESTROOMS
Cowan Hall: Restrooms are available on the first floor of Cowan Hall and in the basement. A handicapped accessible platform lift is located at the north stairwell in Cowan Hall. A Front of House Attendant will be happy to assist you with the lift. Additional restrooms are located across the street in Roush Hall on the north side of each floor.
Campus Center: Restrooms are located on the ground level of the Campus Center. An elevator is available for transportation between floors.
Assistive Listening Devices are available at the Box Office upon request.
