Thank you for your participation in today’s 13th Annual President’s Cup Golf Tournament. It will be a great day here at Corral de Tierra and I thank them for hosting us. This is an exciting event and made better by having our friends and all our corporate partners involved – again, thank you. Opportunities for our student-athletes are made possible through the success of the President’s Cup and the involvement of those who support CSUMB Athletics. I have been at CSUMB just a year, but I have had a number of conversations with student-athletes, coaches, and friends of Otter Athletics around the theme that together WE can create a Culture of Success – in the classroom and on the field of play. Together we are Building Champions (at home, in the classroom, and in our respective venue of competition) One Victory at a Time. Winning is central to my core philosophy. We win when we are good citizens. We win when we have success in the classroom. We win when are victorious on the field, on the court, in the pool, and on the water. These are all Victories. Putting the fine coaches and studentathletes of CSUMB in the best possible position to succeed is the everyday focus of the Athletic Department. I want to thank you for your continued and future support. Private funding is critical to our success and your participation today shows the value you hold for CSUMB Athletics and our Otter student-athletes. Our Culture of Success will be built by the people who show dedication, passion, and support at all levels of the Athletic Department – coaches, student-athletes, administration, parents, friends, corporate partners and boosters. Scholarships CSU Monterey Bay has been awarding $300,000 a year in athletic scholarships. That’s $200,000 less than the $500,000 in scholarships awarded on average by other universities competing in the CCAA.
