Atthispoint;OSHIwillnotdischargeitsfriendsandwillinsteadencouragethem togivebacktothecommunity,evenifthatmeansjustbeingavailabletohelp outinaoneofthecommunitychatrooms(whatsapp)aswellaskingthemto providegenuinefeed-backsothattheOSHIteamcandevelopadeeper understandingofwhatchallengesarefacingpeopleandthenlearnhowwe canbetterservethecommunity'sneedsgoingforward

As a volunteer of Oshi we offer extensive training and development It is expectedofyourroletocompletemandatorytrainingtodevelopyourpractise. We also offer additional courses which can further your role and career if you shouldchoose.Ourtrainingpackageisevolvingallthetimeandwearehereto supportandguideyouonyourjourney.
All training is through a dedicated online NHS provider and includes our mandatory courses There is also an extensive list of extra courses should you wishtoexpandyourlearning.

Purposeandscopeofthepolicy
Expectationandcompliance
This policy is intended to provide clear parameters for all volunteers within Oshi;toensurewhatcanandcannotbereimbursedisunderstood.
This policy covers travel, subsistence and other expenditure which may be incurred whilst volunteering for Oshi. As a charity, Oshi asks all volunteers to ensuretheirexpensesareappropriateandproportionate.
Thispolicyaimstoensurethat:
Volunteers are treated fairly, reimbursed promptly and in full for any legitimate cost they have incurred. Only actual costs incurred may be reimbursed.
AnyexpendituregivesOshibestvalueformoneyandthatadministration resourcesarekepttoaminimumbystreamlinedprocesses.

Importanceofclaimingexpenses
VolunteersplayacrucialroleintheworkofOshi.Assuch,itisimportantthat volunteersclaimtheirexpenses.Oshiwantstoensurethatasmanypeopleas possibleareabletovolunteer,andiskeentoensurethatnooneis disadvantagedfinanciallybyvolunteeringforus
Reimbursementofexpensesisalsoimportantfromanequalopportunities perspective.Volunteerswhomaybereliantonbenefitsorareonalower incomeshouldnotbeexcludedbecausetheycannotaffordthecosts sometimesinvolvedinOshi’ssupportingroles.Notreimbursingexpensesmay becomeabarriertopeoplegivingtheirtime.Therefore,itisessentialthatall volunteerexpensesareclaimedandreimbursedaccurately,swiftlyand regularly.
Oshiisawarethatsomevolunteersmaynotwishtoreceivereimbursement, despitethereasonsabove.Whilstrecognisingavolunteer’swishes,thereisstill theopportunitytoprocesstheexpenseclaim(thereforegivingfullknowledge ofvolunteeringcosts);shouldavolunteerwishtomakeadonation independentofthisexpense,pleasespeakwithaOshiexpenseapprover

Receipts
Volunteerresponsibility:
Whenclaimingexpenses,volunteersmustprovideanexplanationofwhythe expensehasbeenincurredandbeclearthatitisappropriateexpenditureon Oshibusiness
Withtheexceptionofmileageclaims,allexpensesmustbesupportedbya receipt,invoiceorotherproofofexpenditure.Thisverifiesthatanexpensehas beenincurred,notonlytotheexpensesapproverbutalsoforHMRC,should Oshibesubjecttoaninspection.
Creditcardreceiptsarenotappropriateontheirownunlesstheycontain detailsofitemspurchased
Oshiexpensesapprovershavearesponsibilitytocheckthattheexpenses beingclaimedcomplywiththerequirementsofthispolicybeforeapprovinga reimbursement.
Lostormissingreceipts
Oshi accepts that it is not always possible to obtain receipts when volunteers areundertakingtheirvolunteeringrole.
Ifvolunteersfailtoproducereceiptsforaclaim,theycanprovideadeclaration of“noreceipt”foritemstotalling£10orless(notedontheclaimform).
Authorisation of items valued at more than £10 but less than £100 may only be paid afterexplanationbythevolunteerandatOshi’sdiscretion.
Above £100, Oshi’s Managing Director will be required to approve the reimbursement. Persistent failure to produce valid receipts may result in subsequentclaimsnotbeingapproved
