The Sailing Report

Season Summary

Winter Racing Series

The weather gods have been somewhat unkind so far this winter, with some blustery cold fronts coming through right on cue for race days. So far we have managed to stage only 2 out of the four races scheduled.

Quicksilver took out 1st Place in the W1 race, both W2 and W3 races were cancelled due to poor weather and Venomous triumphant in the W4.

Carnage on the Hardstand

A couple of “once a year” cold fronts have smashed into the Ocean Reef coast this winter causing damage to one of the boats in the Hardstand. Our Commodore Ken Wood’s yacht “Louisa”, could not stay on her trailer during a big gust and took off in flight again once more.

It appears the fence broke her fall to some extent and it appears her injuries are somewhat superficial at the time of this report.
