Social Report (continued)

Social Section recently held a Quiz Night, hosted by the Quizmasters at Bamboozled. There were definitely a few questions that had us stumped and scratching our heads for a while, if you missed out, here are a few questions to mull over…

• How many stars make up the Alpha Centauri Star System?

- (a) 3000, (b) 300, (c) 30 or (d) 3

• What did John and Clarence Anglin and Frank Morris pull off in 1962?

• ‘Pike’ and ‘Tuck’ and terms associated with which water sport?

• Which country in the world has all 5 vowels that only occur once?

We also had a round with Club related questions, which I am sure everyone got a 10/10 right?!

‘Clueless’ who won the May Quiz run by Sheila picked up 3 of our 4 prizes, huge congratulations to them. They won the solo game of Heads or Tails, the Group game where we had to build the highest tower only using the items we bought, such as shoes, coats, handbags, pint glasses etc which was really tough, and they also took out first prize overall for the quiz night with most questions right.

General Business

The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Monday, 14 August, this is a great opportunity for members to get up to date on what’s been happing around the Club and what’s to come, especially regarding the new Marina Development and the new Club Facilities. We encourage you to attend if you can.
