Hello Members,
I hope you’ve all been enjoying your time down at the Club. While the hot weather is clearly done and dusted for the year, it is great to see so many Members still down here on those clear crisp days when that Winter sun was out and shining.
Hardstand – Tag and Test
In order to comply with safety regulations and mitigate the risk of power disruptions, it is imperative that all boat owners within the Hardstand have their power cords tagged and tested by a qualified electrician. This process will help identify any potential faults or hazards and allow us to rectify them promptly. Thank you to everyone who have actioned this request – there is now a noticeable difference and we haven’t experienced a power trip since.
Galley Winter Hours
As we enter into our quietest months during Winter, the Galley will be open for dinner on Fridays from 5pm – 8pm (an hour later than the usual Summer time of 4pm). All other hours will stay the same. In the Spring and Summertime, we will be increasing our opening hours so we can serve more Members.
Sunday 3rd September I invite you all down to celebrate the Dads with our Fathers Day “Parmi and a Pint” for $20. Running all day from 12pm – 7pm. Bookings are recommended – you can book online or phone the office.
Employee Recognition
I would like to shine the spotlight on some of our key front-of-house staff that have been doing an amazing job servicing our Members. These staff members were recognised and rewarded at our quarterly Staff meeting.
Joey Abdullie & Georgia Gaston –Duty Managers
Joey has a level of professionalism and knowledge that doesn’t go unnoticed. Joey handles any situation with extreme professionalism and we are lucky to have him on our team. Joey also recently conducted a Wine Tasting Staff Training evening to upskill our Bar Staff on all of our offerings which involved putting together an information sheet with a summary of each of the wines for our staff to build their knowledge on, in order to serve our Members with more knowledge.
Georgia Gaston started working in the Galley and has since moved to the Bar and is now a valued Duty Manager. She has taken on more shifts and is also happy to come in with minimal notice, is always flexible and has built great relationships with the staff and members. Having happy, professional and friendly front-of-house staff is key to providing great customer service.
Aimee Harper – Galley
Aimee Harper is the lovely lady serving most of you on the Galley till. It’s not an easy job, but Aimee does it with ease and always has a smile on her face. I have received lots of great feedback not only from the Committee but also Members.
Feel free to congratulate them when you see them next. Staff recognition is important so we can continue to build a strong Club culture. If you have any positive feedback I would love to hear itplease email me at manager@orssc.asn.au.
Ocean Reef Marina Development Photos
We are lucky enough to have friends in the Joondalup City RSL Sub Branch that are Pilots. LtR Neil Forbes and Paul Falconer-West do regular flyovers and send us progress update photos. I have done a little markup for when our new club will be going which is much easier to see from a birds eye view. Thank you to Paul and Neil for providing these images.
Functions and Events
With 3 function areas all facing the ocean complete with stunning views, we have the facilities to hold an array of functions and events from Weddings to Birthdays, Corporate Seminars, Wakes and General Functions. There are room hire fees, however if you would like to set the room up yourself with your own tablecloths, the room hire is free for financial members which some of you may not know. If you have an upcoming event and would like to enquire, please contact Deb Clarke, our Functions Coordinator on 9401 8800. Alternatively, you can read all about it at https://www.orssc.asn.au/functions
I look forward to seeing you all down at the Club soon.
