DECEMBER 16-21, 2025 • ORPHEUM THEATRE

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO

I love the holiday season at the Orpheum!

Young people come in through the front doors. They look around in awe, many of them making their way into the Orpheum for the first time. After the performance, they exit the theatre with beaming faces and happy memories.

Families experience live theatre! Creating bonds that give them a foundation for future togetherness and camaraderie. Deepening their understanding of each other through a shared passion for the arts.

Downtown Memphis glimmering in its holiday glory. The giant Christmas tree at the corner of Main and Peabody Place. The restaurants festooned with cheerful décor. Friendly greetings between strangers on the street.

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

When it comes to young people and the arts, however, the Orpheum Theatre Group hosts education and community engagement programs year-round, not just during the holidays.

We have camps for young people who want to hone their performance skills. We have programs that give those who stutter the opportunity to speak and be heard. We produce a huge High School Musical Theatre Awards initiative that crosses four state lines. We create plays from the lived experiences of Memphis residents and present their stories on stage to their neighbors, friends, and families. We have a summer camp for young people who have experienced the death of a parent, where the performing arts become a path to healing.

The list goes on at the Orpheum Theatre Group. We believe the arts are vital for a community to prosper. We want to make sure we are doing our part to provide numerous opportunities for our region.

More information on these programs and more can be found at orpheum-memphis.com. I invite you to visit the website and see how the Orpheum Theatre Group makes our city better through the transformative power of the performing arts.

Thank you for being here today. Enjoy Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical

I wish each of you the happiest of holiday seasons!
