Into America’s Wild

Into America's Wild visits some of the most beautiful but untamed landscapes of America, from the lush coastline of Oregon and the wilds of Alaska to the ancient canyons of the Southwest and the rolling hills of the Appalachian Trail.

Three trailblazers wind their way through the scenic byways, ancient homelands, secret gems and hidden trails that form the natural tapestry of America, while viewers will discover the special human connection we all share with nature.

COMMUNITY COMMENTS

I love the Science for All program. I learned about it at a school event. OSC is one of the few accessibility-friendly museums we’ve been to.

OSC staff are the best. Keep up the amazing work you all do and continue to inspire both young and old.

It was our first time at OSC and it exceeded my expectations. Our group had a blast. There is so much to do and every room was filled with great activities.

DISABILITY PRIDE MONTH

The Disability Pride Flag (also called the Disability Flag or the Flag of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) represents people with any kind of disability. The flag is prominent in July, celebrating Disability Pride Month, which was signed into law in 1990.

The original flag was created in 2019 by Ann Magill, a disabled woman, and featured a zig-zag design. After receiving input from people with visually triggering disabilities, the flag was changed in 2021 to have muted colors and straight diagonal stripes

Disability Pride Month began as a commemoration of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act in July 1990 The month (and the flag!) celebrates people with disabilities, their identities, their culture, and their contributions to the world

This year's Disability Pride Month focuses on a campaign to celebrate progress, recognize ongoing challenges, and amplify the voices of people with disabilities W E L C O M E T O T H E T E A M

In partnership with the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Central Florida, OSC developed a hands-on example of a Turing Test in 2014.

The exhibit allowed guests to ask an artificial intelligence machine questions to assess whether the machine was as self-aware as a human.
