Education Exciting Things are On the Way! Oregon Park District is pleased to announce we have been awarded $3,000,000 in Illinois Transportation Enhancement funds to construct the Rock River Heritage Trail connecting Route 64 to Lowden State Park. The Rock River Heritage Trail is a 1.88 mile shared-use path for residents and visitors to access the state park and downtown Oregon, IL. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2025.
OUTDOOR EDUCATION PROGRAM Oregon Park District was also given a $1,500 grant to support our new Outdoor Education program. This will be used to build out a curriculum and purchase supplies to help kids and adults alike engage with the outdoors and learn about our local wildlife, natural areas and ecosystems.
