Ladies and Gentlemen of Orchard Lake Country Club,

Welcome to Orchard Lake Country Club! For over 95 years, our Club has prided itself on being a “family tradition” with a deliberate focus on maintaining the highest standards for the entire family. Orchard Lake is a place to create memories and form lifelong friendships. This is your Club, your home away from home.

The Bylaws of the Club provide that the Board of Governors has the power to make rules for the Club and its members. All rules and policies in this Handbook have been approved by the Board and shall be binding upon all classes of members.

To that end, we have created this Handbook to both (1) define the rules and etiquette requirements at our Club, and (2) provide helpful information on how to maximize your experience using the Club. The purpose is to honor our history and traditions, protect and enhance our member experience, and support our staff who make it all possible. It provides the foundation for achieving our mission of being the“Premier Family Club in the Midwest!”

We ask for your support by reading this Handbook and ensuring that you, your family and your guests abide by it.

Dress Code

for you & your guests

This dress code defines the minimum requirements for proper attire. The Club always honors more traditional attire such as coats, ties and other modes of formal dress. Members are responsible for ensuring their guests comply with our dress code; please communicate with them to avoid embarrassment.

(children follow the Women’s or Men’s requirements unless otherwise noted)

NO DENIM of any color is allowed anywhere on Club property except when allowed in writing by the General Manager for specific events/venues.

Clubhouse

Casual attire in good taste – i.e., country club casual or better. Shoes must be worn at all times.

Women

• Hats are acceptable

• No crop tops

• No athletic wear, tennis apparel, or swim wear

• No cutoffs, t-shirts or cargo shorts/pants

Golf

Men

• No hats or visors of any type

• Collared shirts

• No athletic wear, tennis apparel, or swim wear

• No cutoffs, t-shirts or cargo shorts/pants

“Golf” includes the course, practice areas and halfway house area Shoes must be worn on the golf course. Only soft spike and spikeless shoes are acceptable. Hats must always be worn forward.

Women

•Slacks or shorts/skirts of mid-thigh length or longer

•Sleeveless shirts must have a collar

•Shirts with sleeves do not require a collar

•No cutoffs, t-shirts or cargo pants/shorts

•No leggings or spandex pants or shorts

•No athletic wear, tennis apparel or swim wear

Men

•Collared shirts with sleeves, always tucked-in

•Slacks or shorts no more than 4" above the knee

Denim

Tennis Courts

• Tennis whites are required at all times on the courts, defined as appropriate white-colored tennis attire, including socks

•Up to 10% colored trim is permitted. Outerwear (e.g., pullovers), shoes and hats may be of any color

•Youth players are also permitted to wear white tennis-themed t-shirts (where all designs and/or artwork are tennis-related)

•Only tennis shoes with light treads are permitted on the courts (no bare feet, sandals, heels or aggressive treads)

Racquet House & Common Areas

• Tasteful athletic wear or casual wear in keeping with the character of the Club

•Shoes and shirts at all times

•No swimsuits

Waterfront

“Waterfront” includes the Lakefront, Pool, Lakehouse and Picnic Grove Our waterfront is intended to be a relaxed, casual environment where attire is appropriate for a country club pool, beach and picnic activities (no denim).

•No thong swimsuits

•Beach/pool appropriate wear in good taste

•Shirts or cover-ups required in Lakehouse

General Club Rules

Code of Conduct

All members and their families and guests are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is:

•Consistent with a family-friendly environment intended for the pleasure, recreation and fellowship of our members

•Courteous, considerate, respectful, and reflective of personal integrity and goodwill toward other members, guests and Club employees

•Consistent with the letter and spirit of the Club’s rules, policies and traditions

Employees are part of the Orchard Lake family. Members shall always treat employees with dignity and respect. Members shall not abuse, criticize or berate any employee in any way.

Each member and their family is responsible for ensuring they and their guests understand and comply with this Member Handbook.

Care for Club Property

Members are responsible for leaving the Club as, or better than, they found it, including cleaning up after themselves. Members are responsible for any damage, destruction or alteration they cause to Club property, and for removing any Club property without the General Manager's written consent.

Cell Phone Usage

•Cell phone calls are prohibited anywhere inside the Clubhouse except in the locker rooms

•Emergency calls may be taken if you step outside the Clubhouse

• Texting is allowed anywhere on campus provided it is discreet

•Cell phone usage is permitted outside the Clubhouse provided that members are discreet and respectful of other members’ enjoyment of the Club

Gratuities & Holiday Fund

Cash gratuities to any employee are prohibited with the exception of:

•Caddies

•Golf locker room attendants

•Golf bag room staff

•Valet attendants

•Massage therapists

•Pontoon boat captain

•Coat check attendant

The Club creates an annual holiday fund in order to provide annual bonuses to Club employees. This is an important way for our Club to express our appreciation and gratitude for our employees’ hard work and commitment to our Orchard Lake family, so we strongly encourage all members to contribute, although contributions are voluntary.

Members are allowed to collect donations from other members to be paid as a "thank you" at season end to specific sports directors and/or their staff such as for tennis instructors, sailing instructors, etc.

Member-Sponsored Parties

•Members may host parties at the Club provided they obtain General Manager's approval and coordinate all party details through the Club

•Sponsoring member must be present

•Members using Club facilities for parties are responsible for the cost of the party and all guests’ compliance with Club rules

•Non-members may not hold any parties or events at the Club without a sponsoring member, and such member shall be responsible for the guest’s conduct, activities and financial obligations

General Club Rules

Food & Beverage

•Unless authorized in writing by the General Manager, all food and beverage consumed anywhere on OLCC’s campus MUST be purchased from the Club except for in the picnic grove. Personal beverage coolers may be used in the Adirondack chairs at the waterfront.

•Members must purchase a minimum amount of food and beverage from the Club each fiscal year ending October 31(per below). To-go purchases, taxes and gratuities do not count toward the minimum. Members will be charged each October 31 for the amount of any unmet minimum.

•Active and Social members: $1,500

•Life members: $975

•Members 80+ years old: no minimum

•Junior members: $525

Nannies & Babysitters

Nannies and babysitters are considered an extension of the member’s family so long as they are on premises caring for a member’s child, and accordingly, must follow all rules of the Club including the dress code.

Children

•Club staff are not babysitters; do not leave children for them to watch

•Members are responsible for the conduct of their children and child guests

•Children under the age of 14 are not permitted in the Clubhouse unless accompanied by an adult

•Unless accompanied by an adult, Children must be 14 to enter the Clubhouse and 16 to enter the golf locker rooms

•Children over 4 years old are NOT allowed in the opposite sex golf locker rooms. Family restrooms are available near the fitness center and dining room.

Entertainment

Approval for any entertainment on Club property MUST be obtained from the General Manager.

Gambling

Gambling for entertainment purposes must be approved by the General Manager and a gaming license must be obtained. All illegal gambling is prohibited on Club property.

General Club Rules

Smoking, Alcohol, Controlled Substances & Weapons

•Club employees may, at their discretion, refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to any person who appears to be intoxicated

•Instances of intoxication may be subject to disciplinary action

•Alcoholic beverages are not to be served to persons under the age of 21

•Smoking is prohibited anywhere on Club property except for the golf course and picnic grove so long as you are considerate of others and properly dispose of your waste

•Smoking or use of any cannabis products is strictly prohibited anywhere on Club property

•Controlled substances, other than those prescribed by a physician (but not cannabis products), are prohibited on Club property

•Possession or use of firearms, ammunition or any other type of weapon is strictly prohibited on Club property

Animals

Animals are prohibited anywhere on Club property, including in vehicles on Club premises, except seeing eye / service dogs that accompany members and guests and are approved by the General Manager.

Vehicles

Vehicles parked on Club property must be parked within designated parking areas. All “No Parking” and handicapped restrictions must be observed.

Vehicles shall not be parked in the circle driveway of the Clubhouse unless a valet attendant is on duty.

Guest Policy

•Guests are welcome provided that the host member (a) registers each guest with the Club, (b)pays the applicable guest fees, (c) is responsible for their guests’ conduct and compliance with Club rules and (d) is present with the guest at all times

•No person may be a guest anywhere at the Club more than ONE time per calendar MONTH (except dining and special multi-day events such as golf tournaments), with the possible exception being a house guest who is approved pursuant to Article V Section 3 of our Club’s Bylaws

•Members’ children 25 and under are considered family members and can attend the Club without restriction. Children 26 and older are considered guests subject to our guest policies

•All guests using the lower (i.e., waterfront) parking lot must use a guest code obtained by calling the front desk

Current Guest Fees

Member Billing

Timely payment of member invoices is imperative for the Club to operate. All new members, and any member who fails to pay invoices by the due date, will be required to set up automatic monthly payments using the member’s bank account or credit card. Contact our Controller or General Manager with any billing questions.

Employee Services

•Members wishing to engage the services of Club employees off premises must make arrangements through the General Manager

•Members must not request employees to leave Club premises for any reason

General Club Rules

Publicity & Photography

•No member shall make available to any media any communication, pictures or stories concerning the Club without the General Manager's written approval

•No media members are permitted on Club property without the General Manager's approval

• Taking of photographs or videos of the Club and its grounds for commercial purposes is prohibited unless authorized by the General Manager

•No member or Club employee shall make available to any newspaper, periodical, or other media any internal communication of the Club or one that is directed solely to members. Release of pictures or stories to the public press concerning Club activities must be approved by the General Manager.

Harassment

The Club will not tolerate any discrimination or harassment with respect to its members, guests or employees including but not limited to: physical or verbal abuse; slurs or negative stereotyping; threatening, intimidating, denigrating or hostile acts; unwanted sexual advances or commentary; and insulting or obscene communications.

Complaints

Complaints against other members or employees, or Club operations, should be directed to the General Manager. Complaints against the General Manager should be directed to the Board of Governors in writing and signed by the complainant.

Enforcement & Discipline

The Board has high expectations for compliance with Club rules in order to preserve and protect the Club experience for all members as well as support our employees.

The Board has charged Club management with helping to enforce Club rules. The General Manager and all employees have the total support of the Board in fulfilling their duties. If an employee approaches you or your guest concerning a conduct or rules issue, you are expected to be courteous, non-argumentative and responsive. Please also respect fellow members who might notify you if you violate a Club rule.

The Board has established an Ethics Committee to help review and research rules violations and make recommendations to the Board for appropriate disciplinary actions. The Board or Ethics Committee may, at its option, discuss the matter with the member in question in order to understand their perspective. All decisions by the Board are final and non-appealable other than as provided under the Club’s Bylaws related to the expulsion of members.

If any member or guest violates a Club rule, such person will be subject to a written warning, limitation or loss of Club privileges, suspension, expulsion, or such other measures deemed appropriate by the Ethics Committee or the Board.

Golf Etiquette & Rules

The Club expects members and guests to act in a respectful and dignified manner, promote the values of golf, and follow proper etiquette and course care. Distasteful or other behaviors not consistent with our values, including throwing clubs, are not acceptable.

Our Club expects members to follow the spirit of the “Standards of Player Conduct” as published in Section 1.2 of The United States Golf Association’s “Rules of Golf,” which include:

1. Acting with integrity – for example, by following the Rules, applying all penalties, and being honest in all aspects of play

2. Showing consideration to others – for example, by playing at a prompt pace, looking out for the safety of others, and not distracting the play of another player

3. Taking good care of the course – for example, by replacing divots, smoothing bunkers, repairing ball marks, and not causing unnecessary damage to the course

All players are expected to follow the spirit of the USGA Rules of Golf during any Club event except where local rules are specified by the Head Golf Professional.

Tee Times, Walk-In & Course Access

• Tee times are required (except walk-in) and are to be made via the online tee sheet, first come first served. Please respect the requirements to be off the course in advance of shotgun events such as league play.

• Tee times may be made up to ONE week in advance

•“No shows” will be charged $50 per player

•Singles and twosomes are encouraged to pair up with another group already on the tee sheet; the Club’s starter and pros reserve the right to combine groups without notice

•Walk-in play is available on a “first come first served” basis to certain member classes (per course access schedule below), except during scheduled events announced by the Golf staff such as the Blue Coat Invitational

•No guests are allowed during walk-in play unless pre-approved by the Head Golf Professional

Course access times by member class are as follows:

(Note: "Dawn" is defined as the first time available on the tee sheet on weekdays, and 7am for walk-in during the summer unless modified by the Head Golf Professional. Member tournaments run by our golf professionals take precedence).

Designated Golfer Election

An Active, Life, or Junior member may, by written notice to the General Manager, elect for his/her spouse to be the "Designated Golfer" who is allowed to play at the times specified under "Active/Life & Junior" in the course access schedule above. Thereafter, the Active/Life & Junior member may play ONLY at the times specified under "Spouse/Surviving Spouse" above. The Designated Golfer status may be changed not more than once per year.

General Policies & Information

• Bag Drop. Members and guests should use the bag drop service when arriving at the Club

• Starting. All members and guests must register with the starter. Players may start ONLY at the first tee, unless permitted by the starter.

• Foursome Max. No larger groups are permitted on the course unless approved by the Head Golf Professional

• Pace of Play. Foursomes are expected to play 18 holes in FOUR HOURS or less and 9 holes in TWO HOURS or less. Slower groups are encouraged to allow faster groups to play through if there are open holes ahead of them.

• Ready Golf. While typical protocol is for the player furthest from the hole to play first, in the interest of pace of play, players shall play when ready and it’s safe to do so unless in a Club tournament

• Lessons. May be arranged directly with any of the golf professionals

• Club Fitting & Repair Services. Are available through the golf professionals

• Monday Golf. Is permitted for EMPLOYEES after 3pm, but is prohibited for members

• Bag Storage. The Club provides golf bag storage for each member’s convenience; storage fees charged annually

Course Care

• Replace or Fill Divots. All divots including on the tee box must be filled with the Club-provided sand/seed mix (intact divots may be replaced if before Memorial Day or after Labor Day)

• Repair Ball Marks / Care for Greens. Repair ball marks by pushing all of the edges into the center (never lifting) and then tapping the surface smooth with your putter, not your foot. Do not replace turf that comes from the ball mark. Repair any other green damage, including spike marks, and take care with flag sticks, bags and clubs to prevent damage.

• Rake Bunkers. Rake bunkers smooth by pushing the sand toward the center, and not the edge, of the bunker

Handicap Services

•The Club maintains a handicap for every player through the World Handicap System in partnership with the USGA

•A score MUST be posted for every round played (9 or 18) on the day the round is completed. Net Double Bogey is the maximum score any player may post per hole.

•Members may easily post scores on the computer located outside the golf shop or through the GHIN app or website

•Players must have valid verifiable handicap indexes to play in Club tournaments

Juniors & Junior Golf

• Course and Practice Area Access. Juniors (defined as members' children under 26 years old) must be accompanied by an adult member/spouse or golf professional at all times when playing the golf course or using the practice areas, unless the junior has been granted practice or course playing privileges by the Head Golf Professional. Juniors may play the course at the same times as member spouses (see Course Access schedule on page 15).

• Junior Golf Program. Our golf staff offers a full Junior Golf program for Juniors 5-18 years old that includes junior clinics along with other special events during the season. Contact our golf staff for more information.

• PGA Junior Team. Our golf staff leads a PGA Junior Team for Juniors 8-13 years old that competes against other area country club teams. Contact our golf staff for more information.

• Junior Tees. Two sets of junior tees are installed in each fairway to provide a better golf experience for younger juniors. Junior scorecards are available in the golf shop.

• Clubhouse and Locker Room Access. See General Club Rules section Guests

•Guests are permitted provided that the host member complies with our Guest Policy in the General Club Rules section

•A member must be present in each group, except before Memorial Day and after Labor Day, when a member may host a maximum of four groups provided that (1) one additional member is present during play, (2) it is arranged through the Head Golf Professional, and (3)it occurs only on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday

•Members must register their guests’ full name on the tee sheet prior to play

Carts & Carrying Clubs

•Electric golf carts are available for member use. Drivers must be 16 years old and carry a valid driver’s license

•All cart passengers must observe and comply with all golf cart safety instructions; at no time may any person (including caddies or staff) ride on the back of the golf cart

•No private golf carts are allowed anywhere on Club property except in parking lot areas designated by the Club

•Keep carts at least 30 feet from greens, tee boxes and bunkers. Stay on paths where possible

•Carts are prohibited from all native grass areas at all times

•Carts may not be driven to the driving range by anyone other than staff

•When available, golf carts are permitted for traveling to and from the short game area

•Please use caution while safely crossing Old Orchard Trail on foot or in a cart

•Club-provided push carts may be used as long as there are no caddies available. Keep push carts off all tee boxes and greens.

•Non OLCC push carts are NOT permitted

•Members may carry their own clubs ONLY when a caddie is not available

Practice Areas

•Practice is prohibited on the course and is reserved for the dedicated practice areas including the driving range, short game area and patio putting green

•When walking to and from the driving range, players must walk along the road and never across the 9th hole

•Please hit from the mats unless the stations are set up on the grass. Drivers may be hit from the grass in front of the mats as long as it’s safe to do so and not in harm’s way of anyone practicing nearby.

•The putting green near the Clubhouse is used for putting ONLY – no chipping. Children must have a parent with them when using this green. This green is NOT a play area for members’ children while dining on the patio.

•The large putting green in the short game area is for putting and low-running chips only. Chipping should be no more than 5 feet off the edge. Shots that cause ball marks are not permitted into this green.

•The other target greens in the short game area are for short pitch shots (less than 50 yards) and/or bunker shots. Please reserve hitting longer shots for the driving range.

Locker Rooms

•Any membership classification may rent a golf locker through a locker room attendant, charged annually

•Personalized guest tags / lockers are automatically provided whenever guest names are entered on the tee sheet, or they may be arranged through the locker room attendants

•Members and guests are NOT permitted to change their clothes or shoes in the parking lot. This should be done in the locker rooms.

•Shoe service is available for all shoe types along with soft spike replacement. Men, leave shoes with the attendant or in front of your locker. Women, leave shoes with the attendant or outside the office door.

•Full bar service is available in each locker room along with complimentary snacks and first aid products

•A steam room is available in the men’s locker room; please allow 15 minutes for it to properly warm up

Music

Mini speakers are permitted on the course as long as the music is heard only by players in the foursome, using caution in areas of the course where other tees, fairways, and greens are in close proximity. Please turn off music in the staging / halfway house area.

Caddies

• To promote a prosperous caddie program, members are encouraged to use caddies when they are available (and required to use them over push carts or carrying their own clubs)

•Members may not pre-arrange specific caddies on their own. Any member who violates this will receive a written warning for first offense and a $100 fine (in addition to other potential sanctions) for each offense thereafter (all fines paid to Evans Par Club Fund).

Requests for specific caddies in Club events must be directed to, and will be managed by, the starter/caddie manager.

•Caddies will give you a ‘caddie card’ after your round. Base fees are stated on the card according to their achieved level. Basic gratuity is included, but you are encouraged to give additional gratuity for good performance.

•Complaints about caddies should be made privately to the Golf Services Manager

•As is the case with other members and staff, abusive language must never be directed toward a caddie

• We provide ongoing training to our caddies to help them improve and pursue multi-year careers at our Club. We ask you to help with this goal by providing positive, constructive suggestions during the round and/or on the caddie card.

Dining

•Days and hours of operation across our various dining venues vary seasonally and can be found on the Club’s app or website

•Reservations are highly encouraged and can be made through the app, website or calling the front desk

•Please notify the Dining Room Manager of any allergies in your family; we can put this in our system for future reference

•All checks include tax and 20% gratuity; there is an opportunity to leave an extra tip on your chit for exceptional service

•Always check in at the host stand to be seated

•A member must be present with any guests dining at the Club

Catered/ Large Events

Our Club has the ability to plan, host and cater a variety of events, such as weddings, showers, anniversary parties, birthdays, etc. Please contact the General Manager or Catering Director for more information. Also read “Member-Sponsored Parties” under the General Club Rules section.

Wine & Wine Lockers

Members may purchase wine from the Club at discounted prices. The Club also offers, for an annual fee, “Wine Lockers” for members to store and enjoy wine at the Club. A $10 corking fee applies per bottle opened for wine locker members. Contact the Assistant General Manager for more information.

Fitness Center

•While using our Fitness Center, you do so at your own risk. Orchard Lake Country Club is not responsible for any injuries. You are encouraged to work out with a friend for your own safety. All members and guests should consult with their physician before using the Fitness Center or embarking on an exercise program.

•See Dress Code section for Fitness Center attire requirements

• Towels are provided for your convenience. Please return used towels to receptacles provided.

•Please wipe down equipment after use

•Maximum time on any equipment is 30 minutes when others are waiting

•For safety reasons, children under 16 years old are not permitted in the Fitness Center including the saunas and locker room areas unless supervised by an adult

•Guests are permitted provided the host member complies with our Guest Policy in the General Club Rules section

Waterfront

•Guests / Fees. Guests are welcome provided the host member complies with our Guest Policy in the General Club Rules section. Guest fees are $10 per guest excluding guests (1)using only the picnic grove, (2) at Club-catered parties unless they use the waterfront outside the party, and (3) at evening lakeside dining.

• Schedule of Activities and Hours of Operation can be found on our Club’s website as well as in periodic member communications (e.g., Birchbark and weekly emails)

• Waterfront Merchandise. The pool office offers lake-inspired merchandise for sale, including belts, hats, tee shirts, shorts, beach towels, etc.

• Member Coolers / Food and Beverage. Members may bring their own food and beverage (including coolers and supplies) ONLY to the picnic grove and Adirondack enclave. Beverage coolers are allowed on sailboats. Otherwise, all food and beverages MUST be purchased from the Club.

• Gated Parking Lot. The access code to the gated waterfront parking lot is your four-digit member number plus #. If your member number is two digits, add 00 before your number (i.e., 00xx#); if it’s three digits, add a 0 (i.e., 0xxx#). Contact the Club’s front desk with questions. Do not share your member code; guests must use a guest code obtained by calling the front desk.

• Children Supervision. All young children must have appropriate adult supervision. Staff cannot be given this role.

Lake & Sailing Center

• Watercraft. We offer a full fleet of sailboats, paddle boards and kayaks for member use; no reservations needed but you must visit the Sailing Center to sign them out. Qualified sailors may take out any sailboat based on availability.  Guests may captain a sailboat if the staff approves them.

•Sailing Lessons. Individual and group lessons for all sailors, beginners to advanced, are available at the Sailing Center for $100/hour

•Pontoon Rides of one hour or longer can be reserved through the Sailing Center. Food and beverage may be ordered through the Club.

• Club Regattas are held periodically during the summer for qualified sailors

• Personal Flotation Devices (“PFDs”). The Club requires all persons under 16 years old to WEAR a PFD while on any watercraft (sailboats, paddle boards, power boats, etc), and persons 16 years old and older must HAVE a PFD while on any watercraft. The Club has a good selection of PFDs, but members are encouraged to bring their own U.S. Coast Guard approved PFDs.

• Gratuities are not permitted except for pontoon ride captains

• Member Boats. Members may dock their personal boats during the day at our designated ”member dock” located north of the Sailing Center, first come first served. No overnight docking is permitted, and for safety reasons, no member boat docking is permitted at the main dock.

Other Lake Rules

•Any swimmer under the age of 10 must wear an approved PFD while in the water

•No diving is permitted anywhere on the Waterfront

•No swimming or jumping from the docks

•Swimmers must remain within the designated swim area

•Swimmers may use the raft only if a lifeguard is on duty

•No running or horseplay is allowed at the sailing center or docks

Adirondack Enclave

• Adirondack chairs and umbrellas are available for member use, first come first served. Please be considerate during high demand periods by not “holding” chairs for long periods.

Picnic Grove

(green space from south property line running north to Adirondack enclave)

• Picnic tables, charcoal BBQs and the communal fire pit are available for member use, first come first served. Picnic tables can be designated as reserved for the day with a tablecloth or name sign. During times of high grill demand, please be considerate and complete your cooking promptly.

• Please clean up your picnic area before leaving as this area is not staffed with Club personnel

• Large Parties (over 10 people) may arrange to reserve tables, canopies, linens and other supplies through our Catering Department

Lakehouse

• Shirts or cover-ups must be worn inside the Lakehouse

• Bus your own tables in the Lakehouse and on the Lakehouse deck

• Lakeview Dining (dinner) is offered on the Lakehouse deck most Friday evenings between Memorial Day and Labor Day. See the Club’s calendar for details. Reservations are required and attire is country club casual.

Pool

• Towels. Members are encouraged to bring their own towels, but the Club does offer towels for daily use. Please help us keep the waterfront tidy by picking up and returning towels to the pool office or used towel bins!

•Pool Rules:

•Rinse your feet at the foot bath before entering the pool

•No inflatables allowed in the pool

•Pool deck seating is first come first served

• No glass or food on the pool deck. Beverages are allowed but only in unbreakable containers

•No running or horseplay on the pool deck

•Children not potty trained must wear swim diapers in the pool

•Starting block usage only permitted when directly supervised by a staff member

• Diving is permitted only in the deep end of the pool

•One person on the diving board at a time and use only one bounce

•Lanes 1 and 2 will be available for lap swimmers

Locker Rooms

• Lockers. Available for daily use or season rental through the pool office

• Cleanliness. Locker rooms receive a high amount of use and cleanliness is a priority for us. We ask for your help in keeping clothes, bags and trash picked up.

• Children. Avoid congregating in the locker rooms, and absolutely no horseplay is allowed

• No glass or food is permitted

Youth Programs

• Swim Team and Learn-To-Swim Program. The Blue Carp swim team is a long-standing Orchard Lake summer tradition. Contact the Head Swim Coach or main Club office for information.

• Youth Sailing Program. We encourage all children to begin learning the great sport of sailing. Youth sailing sessions are held on weekdays. Contact the Sailing Center for information.

Racquets

Attire- See Dress Code section, which includes our important tradition of honoring “Tennis Whites” on the tennis courts.

Racquets Etiquette & Rules

Members and their guests are expected to act in a respectful and dignified manner and follow proper etiquette. Distasteful or other behaviors not consistent with our Club values, including throwing racquets, are not acceptable.

Racquet House

•The Racquet House is the focal point of the tennis and platform tennis area. It houses the tennis pro shop and is a center for winter activities.

• Private Events / Catering. The upstairs room of the Racquet House may be reserved for private events only with written approval of the Racquets Director. Special arrangements for food and beverage may be made through the Club

• Cleanliness. Members are expected to clean up their own trash and help maintain a neat and orderly appearance of the house

Court Reservations

Members may make tennis or platform tennis court reservations online through the Club website or app up to ONE WEEK in advance. If a member is playing with a guest, the member may make a reservation up to THREE DAYS in advance.

Racquet Rules

Court Use

Tennis courts are for tennis play only. Platform tennis courts are for paddle play only. General play may be preempted by scheduled events.

Alcohol

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the tennis courts, but are otherwise allowed anywhere in the racquets area (including the Racquet House, tennis patio and other common areas). From Memorial Day to Labor Day, ALL beverages must be purchased from the Club; during other times of the year, members may bring their own beverages.

Private Instruction

Individual and group lessons may be arranged directly with the Racquets Director. Lesson charges will be chitted to the member’s account.

Youth Programs

The Racquets staff runs a robust youth tennis program during the summer. Contact the Racquets Director or the main Club office for information.

Guests

Guests are permitted on the tennis and paddle courts at a ratio of one guest to one member, provided that (1) the host member complies with our Guest Policy in the General Club Rules section and 2) the member must be on the court when the guest is playing. Guest fees are $5 each on weekdays and $10 each on weekends.
