The Morton J. Kent Habilitation Center (the “Hab Center”) coordinates Orange Grove’s strategic alliances with national and international teaching, research, and advocacy organizations working to improve the lives of people with IDD in every arena. The Hab Center staff ensures that people with IDD have a representative seat at the table with rulemaking bodies, industry practice groups, health care practice and research groups, and governmental councils and advisory groups. The Hab Center also pays it forward by supervising student interns from local schools in 15+ disciplines. For all the parts of 2020 that felt like nothing was moving, Orange Grove continued to reach out and make contacts to advance the mission in our community. Our partnerships with businesses and local governments continue apace, exploring new work and job opportunities.
