ast year Taycan won two of the most prestigious awards presented to any car manufacturer when 86 international motoring journalists from around the world assessed more than 50 new cars for its World Car of the Year awards. Taycan topped the list as the World Luxury Car of the Year and World Performance Car of the Year. ‘This double win in the categories World Performance Car and World Luxury Car underlines what we wanted to achieve when we developed the Taycan,’ said Michael Steiner - Member of the Executive Board, Research and Development, Porsche AG. ‘We wanted to create a driver-focused, fully electric sports car that can take on any Performance Car.

‘At the same time, we focused on uncompromised everyday-usability and contemporary, digital luxury and comfort for four passengers. We are delighted that the WCOTY jury rewards these efforts.’ Previous to that Taycan was nominated as Car of the Year in Top Gear magazine, Game Changer of the Year (Top Gear magazine), The China Green Car of the Year (Chinese Car of the Year) and German Car of the Year, and it won the innovation prize from Connect magazine (Germany). In Australia it quickly captured the hearts of Australian car enthusiasts who convincingly voted it their favoured vehicle when it won the Carsales People’s Choice award. It was praised as a step-change for Porsche and electric cars in general.
