Powered by Porsche O nly in Australia can a woman with drive tap into the world of Porsche cars with her own exclusive ‘club’, because woman with drive by Porsche is just that – a special place where women with passion, intelligence and confidence come together to inspire and support each other. Six years ago, the idea was to provide successful and discerning Australian women with an avenue to connect with each other and with Porsche; to build new relationships and expand horizons; to grow their potential. Porsche recognised that there is an emergent genre of Australian women who have a Porsche mindset, not necessarily a Porsche car, who should be given the opportunity to connect and leverage off each other – opinion leaders. “We started out as an online magazine for the Porsche woman with a Porsche mindset – passionate, intelligent, confident, successful and discerning,” Stephanie Weiser, Porsche Australia says. “We launched the online magazine that provided content for these women. It featured editorials across travel, style, food and drink, health and fitness, business and also stories on women with drive.” The online magazine was so well received that it has been incorporated into the Porsche fold, integrating its unique content into the pages of the company’s ‘newsroom’ portal. There, stories are featured that show the many and varied women in the Porsche world such as Sabine Schmitz, who has completed more than 30,000 laps of the Nürburgring and taken out quite a few victories in Porsche cars. But woman with drive is not just about female drivers – it is so much more than that. The magazine features fresh, vibrant and informative stories that are easy to read and relevant to women such as the feature on Eva Chen, who swapped her career in print journalism to become Instagram’s Director of Fashion Partnerships. It didn’t stop with the publication of a magazine either. woman with drive then looked ahead to more exciting ventures to ensure that it captured the essence of today’s vital women, tapping into the myriad of female talent available to work as ambassadors. Media personality Sonia Kruger was the first ambassador, then winter Olympian Tora Bright. From there the ideas came quickly, and so woman with drive held events and media launches. “We realised when we did those initial small events that it would be good to do an off-line event, so in 2015 we did our first woman with drive lunch leading up to the Australian Grand Prix. Since then, we do one every Thursday before the GP,” Ms Weiser says. The line-up of women with drive speakers for the 2020 Australian Grand Prix were all exceptionally worthy, entertaining and inspiring. This year, three world class female athletes shared their experiences at the lunch. woman with drive

Sally PEARSON OAM – Australian Olympic and World Hurdles Champion Kelsey BARBER – Australian Olympian and Javelin World Champion Morgan MITCHELL – Australian Olympian

During any year it’s the pivotal role of woman with drive to offer a multitude of ways in which its ‘club’ of driven women can connect – via online and offline events, through its publication and on its special drive days. • www.newsroom.porsche.com.au/ womanwithdrive
