Travel all over the countryside Charging is no longer an issue

Chargefox has rapidly opened up the possibilities for Taycan owners to travel the countryside, going countrywide with its widespread charge stations. So far there are 18 ultra-rapid charging stations nationally, allowing Taycan drivers from Toombul in Queensland to Australind in Western Australia to enjoy a fast charge. Another four ultra-rapid charge stations are in the pipeline. An agreement between Porsche and Chargefox also means that Taycan owners can enjoy three years free, unlimited charging at all ultra-rapid sites (up to 350kW) and at participating Chargefox-managed fast charging sites Australia-wide. As an example, Chargefox’s Westfield Airport West site, 20 km from Melbourne’s CBD, has four 350kW ultrarapid charge stations and two 50kW fast chargers. “Chargefox has now built 18 ultra-rapid charging stations around Australia on the Chargefox network that are totally powered by renewable energy, with many others using green power where possible,” says Marty Andrews, CEO of Chargefox. “We have almost 10,000 users on our app, and we have powered more than 145,000 EV charging sessions. We are really pleased to see the positive impact our network is having on the environment at such a critical moment in time.

“Turning on our latest two charging stations in regional Victoria and WA means drivers can now travel up and down the east coast of Australia, and from Melbourne to Adelaide, without long charging stops. “These sites will further reduce range anxiety and help drive EV adoption in Australia. As all the major car companies focus their efforts on building EV models, we anticipate that 2021 will be the year that we will see the tipping point of EV adoption in Australia.” Using the Chargefox network, Taycan drivers will be able to charge from five percent to 80 percent battery in 22.5 minutes across the ultra-rapid network, and in 93 minutes across the fast charger network

That’s just enough time for a coffee break; for extra convenience many Chargefox locations have cafes and facilities nearby. All charge stations are well-lit and have long opening times (some 24/7). Charger locks are fitted so no one can disconnect your car from the charger and CCTV cameras are being rolled out for added security. After registering their vehicle details in the Chargefox app, Porsche Taycan owners will have visibility of all of the free charging available to them when using the Chargefox network. Chargefox is an ultra-rapid charging network with investment by the Australian Motoring Services (RACV, NRMA, RACQ, RAC, RAA and RACT), Wilson Transformers and the founder of Carsales, Greg Roebuck. It is supported with grants from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and the Victorian Government. The freely available Chargefox app also helps users easily find charging stations in Australia and New Zealand. Sites are equipped with CHAdeMO and CCS2 plug types, making it suitable for all current and future DC-capable EVs. •
