“My Rotary story? I’m sure it’s similar to others. It starts in Elyria, OH and is still going in the RCoCLE.”

“It’s also grounded in a partnership to promote literacy…”

…using a magic comic book.”

Yes, magic. It’s enchanted with the power of literacy.

“Once you read it, you gain the superpower of the last hero you read about.” “After you use the power, it goes away. “

“So keep reading more comic books, and you’ll keep getting more powers to use.”

“So, superpowers.., wanting to serve above self and the 4-Way Test….how much time do we have? “

Today’s speaker is one of our newest members. The topic; Envisioning Kindland.

Kindland is a citywide initiative of Cleveland, driving our community to be a community of kindness. As part of the Just Be kind campaign, we aim to bring people together to increase awareness of kindness and lead to a change in behavior throughout our city.

Thank you. It’s an honor to be here.

We need your assistance spreading the literacy of kindness.

I guess I’m asking, how can we show and tell the stories of kindness from across the land?

We are open to ideas.

Thank you for your time.

Later that day, Rotarian and insurance risk advisor, Ken Glanc, works frantically on an idea.

The day I read a magic comic book, I gained the powers of the last hero I read about. What if we could read comic books with powers for Kindness? Read about a speedster, gain those powers.

Use them, they go away. Read more comics, gain more powers.

Captain Comic Book can get citizens excited to read with free comic books.

Then, use the Operation Comic Book Academy to Envision Kindland. Tell us your story of kindness.

With each story of kindness, we get closer to creating Kindland.

Across town, on the shores of the NOrth COast, (The NoCo)

A high security base is hosting a unique guest.

An agent of chaos has been in intense discussion with security officers of The Land.

Sounds good to me.

Elsewhere, on the outskirts of The Land, chaos lurks.

This base of operations provides cover for a secret communications network.

Inform the Commander of Chaos.

“The science needed to infuse the essence of the 3 Strike Gang is ready”

We attached the risk ray to the robots and it failed. Everyone saw them coming. Intolerance

Illiteracy

Indolence

This time, we will disguise them as volunteers and immobilize the nonprofits from the inside. Chaos will reign.

Commander, the robots are ready for facial construction.

International volunteer day is approaching

The Land’s nonprofit volunteer center is short-staffed.

Volunteers are needed everywhere. Everyone is so desperate. To keep pace with demand, nonprofits might take shortcuts. They’ll be immobilized. Just like you, RYAN ST. MARIE

A kindness outpost has been established. As RSM risk advisors, we’ve got to inform our nonprofit partners about these resources. Risks surrounding improperly trained and screened volunteers could cripple an organization.

Nonprofit rosters are quickly scanned and organized.

Plan the work, work the plan.

Across town, at The Land’s nonprofit volunteer center. A mob of “volunteers” are eager to help.

Inside, limited staff work to place volunteers on service projects.

“Volunteer. Volunteer. Volunteer .Volunteer. Volunteer .Volunteer.”

The peaceful lobby is soon overrun by an outpouring of potential helpers. Staff members scramble to place candidates on service projects.

The Commander Of Chaos’s plan could not be going any better. Soon, insurance claims activity spread like an epidemic. Insurance costs rose and panic ensued. The recipe for chaos. Defamation

Theft

Hostile work environment

Unsafe work conditions and lack of safety protocols

Rideshare Auto Claims

Cyber Security

Data breach malware

Cyber Security

WE'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE!

It starts with: training Accurate job descriptions Plans to deal with a crisis

Transparency Having strong controls in place

Let’s get some eyes on this.

Let’s speak our truth.

Let’s scan for viruses.

As the risk controls kick in, the last of the imposter robots are thwarted.

We were fortunate this time. But there are so many nonprofits needing help.

You’ll never stop the chaossss

If we’re going to bring kindness to The Land, we have a major literacy project on our hands Our local Rotary club could be our greatest ally.

I’ll notify our team to advocate Nonprofit Insurance Alliance resources They can start notifying customers, centers of influence and networking professionals

Advisors and brokers are alerted

Insurance literacy leads to kindness.

Speaking of Rotary, I’m late for our meeting

And, I hope to see an old friend. Someone who taught me that reading could be magic.

The action continues. Tune in next time.

* RSM risk advisors are licensed professionals. Please do not attempt these stunts at home.

Epilogue:

On the banks of the mighty Cuyahoga, an emergency board meeting for the Rotary Club of Cleveland is taking place.

We need a superhero to help. Literacy is the key.

Later.

Let’s hope we reach him.

I motion we call for the Captain.

Light it up!

Across town

reporting for duty!

Lights are on but nobody is home. Where is everyone?

MARCH 2020

What about our pets?

You may walk your dog as long as you social distance.

Need something to boost spirits and keep us healthy…

Cadets have made comic books featuring the following themes:

We are counting on you to send us your ideas. Now, on with the story.

The year is now 2022

COVID 19 has taken another.

After several failed attempts to eradicate kindness, the C.O.C. released Ryan St Marie. Months later, a community mourns.

As legend has it, St. Marie of the Incarnation Marie Guyard was born in Tours, France. She joined the Ursulines at Tours, taking the name Marie of the Incarnation was sent to Canada where she laid the cornerstone of the first Ursuline convent in Quebec And, compiled dictionaries in Algonquin and Iroquois and taught the Indians the rest of her life. until her death in Quebec. She experienced mystical visions and suffered periods of spiritual Saint Marie was also known as The laughing foreigner. Saint Marie Amandine is the patron saint of laughing because she believed that laughing could always make you feel better.

It is derived from the family living at Ste. Marie, in Normandy. This place-name, which is derived from the name of St. Mary, the mother of Christ, is extremely common in France, and a given case may result from the original bearer's residence in any one of these places. In March of 2020, descendant, Spencer Ryan, opened the new Hall Of Insurance…

And leads as President/owner of Ryan St. Marie Insurance Agency.

We protect professionals, people and their property. And most importantly, we protect those organizations that channel passion into purpose; nonprofits.

Family First and “service above self” is our approach to each of our relationships.

Use your risk advisory powers as a resource for the community and serve above self.

The Vocational Service committee calls on every Rotarian to work with integrity and contribute their expertise to the problems and needs of society. It’s up to us to make a difference in our industry and community.

We hope to expand our presence with new employees and sponsoring Rotary memberships for our risk advisors.

The partnership with Operation Comic Book to ‘Envision Kindland’ is underway.

Our guest is Captain Comic Book

Welcome to the show, Captain.

It’s an honor to be here championing literacy, kindness and comics.

We are delighted to say it is. As the literacy of kindness spreads, we encourage Kindland citizens to “Envision Kindland”..

Use the sequential art storytelling techniques available through the Operation Comic Book Academy

Captain, the comic book, its’ working isn’t it?

The magic comic book is working. Citizens are excited to read and create more comic books featuring acts of kindness.

“The constant back and forth with Ryan St.Marie was bad enough.”

“But my battles with Captain Comic Book have always been epic.“

I’ll attack, he’ll attack.

Ultimately my plans are thwarted.

“This time, no one will see the new wave of chaos coming.”

“Not even

YOU!”

Later, agency owner, Spencer Ryan, texts his nonprofit risk advisor, Ken Glanc.

Ken, could you introduce me to, Captain Comic Book? I met him briefly at a Rotary meeting but do not have his contact info. Also, how do you know him? Do you think he could help us advocate for nonprofits?

I’ll get you connected and yes, I know he is eager to advocate for nonprofits.

How I know him? That’s a story I’ll have to share with you in person.

YIKES!

How will Spencer react? What is Commander of Chaos’ diabolical plan?

What is Spencer going to say when he learns I’m Captain Comic Book?

Until next time readers
