One more anniversary and a new crisis to overcome Marcopolo celebrates its 67 years. One more anniversary and, right now, one more crises to be overcome. I have the privilege to also complete 67 years in Marcopolo, where I learned a lot about people, life, about our company and in which I faced many difficult, delicate and decisive moments. Just as we do not celebrate the same birthday twice, none of these 67 birthdays was equal to the other. They were all different. Always in continuous change, always on the move and seeking to grow, to serve as an example and a reference. In the beginning, due to the product itself and the technology. Then, due to the international presence, to the ability to generate benefits and wealth for our country, our employees and the communities where we are based. In all these years, I learned from those I had the pleasure to meet that it is necessary to enjoy every moment, to share experiences, to review old concepts and to believe in our main beliefs. For the 67th time I stop, reflect and realize that Marcopolo never rests, as a traveler... New Board of Directors, new management, new markets and

new customers to win and satisfy, and a new crisis to overcome. I see new and old faces exchanging experiences. I see a lot of determination, goodwill and willingness to “fly the flag”. I see all working together to retake the grow. And that makes me happy, fulfilled and thankful. Marcopolo also went through various crises, all different from each other. In all of them we learned, came together and improved, we reviewed processes, developed new products and came out more efficient, more competitive and better than before. But not all in the garden was lovely and, within this lifelong learning, at various points, we needed to review decisions and correct our route. Therefore I say that this crisis, even though it is different from all others, as well as other we experienced, will be overcome. What is recurrent every Marcopolo’s anniversary and every surmounted crisis? The union between people and the overshoot. Each anniversary we have the opportunity to start a new cycle, different and better than all the previous ones. Best wishes to celebrate many more coming years! Good reading!

In addition to the new chairman, Paulo Roberto da Silva Nunes, the board is formed by the vice-chairman, Oscar de Paula Bernardes Neto, and by the counselors Luciano Moisés Bado, Carlos Alberto Casiraghi, Flavio Cesar Maia Luz, Odair Lucietto and Luiza Damasio Ribeiro do Rosario. Super-articulated Nineteen Marcopolo super-articulated Viale BRT buses were handed over to the Auto Aviação Jabour, from Rio de Janeiro. The vehicles, used in the state capital transport service, are 23 meters long, can carry more than 150 standing passengers and 52 passengers seated on Upholstered City seats with headrest. Equipped with O500 MDA 3736 Mercedes-Benz chassis, the vehicles have air-conditioning systems, GPS, video monitors and monitoring of the fleet and passenger safety.

23 Senior minibuses for Real Brasil The Marcopolo Senior Turismo minibuses were the choice of Transporte e Turismo Real Brasil, from Rio de Janeiro, intended to passenger transport to tourist routes in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Equipped with Mercedes-Benz LO 916 chassis, the 23 vehicles can carry 24 passengers in Executive 910 Soft seats with retractile three-point seatbelt belt. They are equipped with monitoring cameras, GPS and audiovisual system with radio, DVD and flat screen monitors. They are also furnished with air-conditioning system, pantograph access door and bonded glasses, in order to increase inside comfort.

Renewal of urban transport in Londrina The companies Transportes Coletivos Grande Londrina and Viação Garcia, in Londrina, Paraná, acquired Marcopolo Viale BRT buses. The first vehicles provided to the new city transportation system have different configurations such as monitors, audiovisual system with DVD and CD Player, image recorder and are suitable for wireless Internet (Wi-Fi). “The investment is an example that should be replicated to all municipalities. The goal is to provide important benefits and advantages for citizens, in addition to improving urban mobility with modern and comfortable buses. The companies have chosen the model Viale BRT, in both conventional and articulated versions, in

order to raise the transport quality in the city”, explains Paulo Corso, Marcopolo’s director of marketing and business operations.

Investment in modernity A unity from Epírito Santo focuses on the production of full-equipped lightweight vehicles of Volare brand. In April, Marcopolo Corporation completed the second phase of the project of its most modern industrial complex in the country, located in the city of São Mateus, in Espirito Santo. More than R$ 100 million have already been invested in this new unit dedicated exclusively to the manufacture of lightweight vehicles of Volare brand intended for passenger transportation. Volare is an independent business unit of Marcopolo Corporation and its operation represents the installation of the first automaker in the state of Espirito Santo. The new plant is an ecological model and has unprecedented production process, which uses the automaker concept, with solid lines, including for painting, reduction of the movement of components and systems, with fixed tools and employees at the workstations and visual system of information.

New market segment In its new industrial complex, Volare innovates with the production of a new model: Volare Five, lightweight, full-equipped and that creates a new market segment, the compact vehicles one. The design of Volare Five came from inside out and gathers the main features and advantages of a van, as agility, maneuverability, handling, low fuel consumption and cost of acquisition, and reduced levels of NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), with the attributes of a coach (number of seats, comfortable seats, strength (durability), cost of maintenance, visibility, after sales network, resale price and brand image. Conceived and developed from these definitions and with the dimensions and needs to meet these users, the model has chassis and bodywork forming a full set. The concept is to scale the vehicle with greater internal space, through the reduction of thicknesses and tolerances of the body, maintaining the assembly rigidity and security to provide greater comfort, visibility and safety for users. The attributes of durability, robustness, easy maintenance, reduced cost of technical assistance and versatility create new parameters.

It also adopts fine technology systems, with robotization of welding and painting, processes optimization, automation, functional plant and laser cuts in tubes and plates, among other features. All this features enable the mapping of activities and ensure higher quality and efficiency standards (efficiency is monitored at every vehicle produced), in addition to offering better ergonomics for employees. Besides the modernity of industrial plants and production processes, another stand-out feature is that the factory has an intelligent concept for all sectors, especially the layout for the assembly line.

Marcopolo Rio, located in Xerém, Rio de Janeiro, resumed its activities last June and keeps the manufacture of urban buses destined to both national and abroad market. Due to the significant reduction in national demand, the production had been interrupted at the end of last year. The first vehicles manufactured this year were the urban buses Marcopolo Torino for the companies Auto Viação Alpha e Auto Viação Tijuca which purchased respectively ten and five units. The 12.7 meters long vehicles have OF-1721 Mercedes-Benz chassis, are fully accessible and meet the standard SMTR/RJ. With average capacity for 39 seated passengers, they are equipped with City Comfort seats, elevator, air conditioning system, automated fare collection and internal lighting in LED.

Always ahead The current economic moment requires companies to align and review strategies in order to meet the the expectations of a market that is stagnated due to the political and economic instability. In April, sales representatives from Brazil and abroad attended the Convention of sales which had as its motto the Olympics and made use of the symbolism of the medals to show that every effort is rewarded. Paradiso 1800 DD to Crucero del Norte The Argentinian company Crucero del Norte incorporated to its fleet 28 new Paradiso 1800 Double Decker cocahes intended to travel tourism on both national and international routes served by the company in Brazil, Chile and Paraguay. The company, that is a traditional Marcopolo client, renews its fleet annually with double decker vehicles for intercity passenger transportation. The Marcopolo Paradiso 1800 DD has a modern design with widescreen windshield, which is

greater and curved, so broaden the visibility for both the driver and passengers. This enables the travelers housed on the top front part to have a “full view� perception of the journey and the landscape. Internally it is equipped with 1,060 mm wide semi-sleeper seats, chromotherapy decorative lighting, audiovisual system with 5 monitors and DVD player with USB, monitoring cameras and in-seat power ports.

Double Deckers for Bolivia too A deal was closed to the exportation of six units Paradiso 1800 Double Decker to the Bolivian transport company Flota Bolivar, from Cochabamba. The vehicles will be used in interstate routes. The deal reinforces the image of reliability, robustness, safety and comfort that the model has in all South American countries. The coaches of the Flota Bolivar are 15 meters long and have two chassis configurations

(Mercedes-Benz O500 RSD 2742 8x2 and Volvo B450R), both with capacity for 12 passengers on the lower floor and 31 people on the upper floor, on sleeper seats with leg rest. The vehicles are equipped with air suspension, outside electric rearview, two refrigerators, monitoring system, air conditioning, heating, in-seat power ports, AM/FM radio with CD and MP3 reader, DVD player and 8 LCD monitors.

Buses to Qatar Four units of the coach model Viaggio will be provided to two operators in the chartering segment in Qatar. International Heavy Equipment purchased two Viaggio 1050 and MBM Transport will receive two Viaggio 900 vehicles. Since the second half of last year, with the increased competitiveness of the Brazilian product, Marcopolo has recovered markets and international clients. Among these there is the Arabic one. “We are very pleased to close this deal, a result of the work of all our export team. Our goal is to gradually regain the space that we once had in the region�, explains Ricardo Portolan, Marcopolo export manager. Designed for both intercity transport and chartering service, the model Viaggio 1050 is

equipped with Executive 1060 seats and can carry 49 passengers. With 12.5 meters in length, the vehicle has Volvo chassis B380R 4x2 with front door, bonded windows, audiovisual system with radio, DVD player, folding monitors, rear vision camera, in-seat power ports and air-conditioning. The vehicles Viaggio 900 developed for MBM Transport also have Volvo chassis B380R, front door in the wheelbase, bonded windows, air conditioning system and rear vision camera. With 12.5 meters in length, they have 45 Executive 1060 seats, radio, DVD Player, three folding monitors and in-seat power ports.

“A special and winning company” With over 40 years of experience in the automotive industry, especially in the area of organizational intelligence, Paulo Cezar da Silva Nunes is the chairman of Marcopolo’s Board of Directors since last April. His election to the biennium 2016/2018 is part of the process of professionalization of company’s management and leadership, which started around 15 years ago and strengthens the company’s focus on efficiency and competitiveness. The executive was already acting, since 2012, as an independent member of the Marcopolo’s board of directors, besides being part of the HR and ethics committee.

Viajante Magazine - what are, in your opinion, the main challenges for Marcopolo during your management? Paulo Nunes - Marcopolo, as a leading company in its sector, has as permanent challenges the actions focused on product upgrading and competitiveness, on spotless service to its customers and on shareholders and employees satisfaction. Viajante - What is the role and what are the duties of the board chairman? How does your management influence on the company business? Paulo - The Board chairman has several assignments and statutory obligations to the company, including many governance and legal processes with its controllers, shareholders and employees. The main assignment is to conduct appropriate and balanced decision-making processes, which are critical to the company. The decision-making processes of the company are formed by various opinions and consensus produced by our counselors, by recommendations of the committees that work in support of the Board and by the will and need expressed by the company’s leaders in their day-to-day. The adequate understanding and involvement in the relevant themes and resolutions of the Board are the guarantee and the support for better decisions to be taken by the company in the conduct of its activities. Viajante - Based your experience in the automotive industry and, especially in the area of sales, how can you contribute to Marcopolo’s management and customer relationship? Paulo - I understand that Marcopolo, through its leaders and employees, has permanent focus on activities related to customer satisfaction. For me this is the main reason that explains the success of the company, in addition to other important features. I understand that all movements within

the organization will always reflect in quality, attention and excellence in customer service. Our contribution will be to promote this approach to keep the customer as our top priority. Viajante -Within Marcopolo’s growth strategy for the coming years, how to merge focus and importance of the Brazilian market with international expansion? Paulo - I see the focus on Brazilian market as a priority, to which the company has been devoting great efforts and resources of all kinds to maintain its market share, releasing new products that completely meet the various and important local market requirements. As for international expansion, this is a one-way trip, i.e., we already are an internationalized company and we want to maintain the positions already achieved. We will keep strengthening and expanding our actions and projects in various regions of the planet, adopting different ways and priorities to develop business opportunities and partnerships that offer the reliability needed to realize our long-term investments. Therefore, both markets are important and essential, never excluding one another. They have appropriate priority, which is well balanced in accordance with the resources and opportunities set out in the company’s business planning. Viajante - Customers want always more customization, after-sales services and guarantees, as well as lower prices and more facilities in the purchase of vehicles. In a scenario of stagnation that is extremely competitive as the Brazilian one, how to act along with business executives to ensure the achievement of such goals? Paulo - We certainly work in a business of high complexity, which requires resourcefulness and continued customer care. The Board of Directors help the company’s management in clear directions aimed at achieving short, medium

and long term possible targets. We maintain the attention to planning ensuring the continuity of the company, incorporating economic and social considerations as well as considerations of good corporate governance in the definition of businesses and operations. Viajante - Tell us about your experience and living as a member of the Marcopolo’s Board of Directors. What were the most important moments? Paulo -My experience has always been in the industry, where I took several roles throughout my career of 40 years. Along these years, I was always connected to the auto parts industry, working for the past 20 years for Dana, in which I have exercised the role of region vice president, being able to manage operations and projects, to develop markets and to coordinate the business development along with automakers, both national and international. Important moments were those when automakers had projects of global platforms, to which I actively took part, so being provided of great knowledge and developments. In 2012, my entry into the Marcopolo’s Board meant a new phase in my professional life. I found a company of great value and an immense fortress based on principles and people. Marcopolo has continuously surprised me in a positive way by their ability to adapt to different situations, having resilience and focus on the business that far outweigh any difficulty. Such as the tough time that Brazil is now facing and from which we will emerge more strengthened to continue growing.

Traveling is democratic and accessible Founder and Chairman of CVC Board of Directors, the largest travel operator in the Americas, Guilherme de Jesus Paulus, 67 years old, has always sought to innovation and creativity and his company stands out by offering trips that are accessible to all pockets. In 1972, when CVC began its activities in the city of Santo AndrĂŠ, in the ABC region of SĂŁo Paulo, until today, with more than 1,000 franchise stores and 6,500 registered agencies in Brazil, the entrepreneur has accumulated over 40 years in the tourism industry. He is also owner of the GJP Hotels & Resorts, which accounts for the management of 19 hotels and resorts in Brazil. Guilherme Paulus knows the segment of tourism very well and shares a bit of his experience, optimism and belief in the Brazilian potential.

Viajante Magazine - By 1972 on, tourism and Brazilian tourists have changed a lot, in size, options of destinations, structure and, especially, in income. How was it like to take part and to collaborate extensively in this evolution to grow and achieve a high level of quality? What are the prospects for the future? Guilherme de Jesus Paulus - Considering the experience of 44 years of CVC’s activities, we went through countless adversities of economy, with trade and changes in economic plans. The difficulties will always exist, at different times. The present moment is no different and it is worth mentioning that people keep traveling. The numbers of CVC remain high; the company grew by 1.7% in confirmed bookings in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the same period of the previous year. The experience shows us that Brazilian people adapt their trip to their budget and keep traveling, after all a vacation is always a unique opportunity of rest which the worker sees as a merit. Tourism is a sector that is resi-

lient, consumers want to travel and all the company works to make sure that thousands of Brazilians can do so. In the case of the GJP it is no different. Our hotel chain, that has 19 hotels, is in continuous expansion. By the end of this year we will have three new hotels opened.

The experience shows us that Brazilian people adapt their trip to their budget and keep traveling. Viajante - Tourists want safety, comfort and assurance of good programs, all-inclusive formulas with hotel, transportation and attractions. Guilherme - Yes, CVC is always in search of a new destination, a new journey to offer to Brazilian customers through all sales channel. We are a retailer that understands that consumers are multichannel, i.e., they perform the purchase through the most convenient sales channel, so we need to be in all these in person and online channels. CVC was, for example, a pioneer in launching its website, in the 2000s, and since then it has gradually increasing its activities in this direction. The acquisition of Submarino Viagens, that is a strong brand among Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), comes exactly to strengthen the digital presence of the company. Currently, online sales account for 6% of total sales of the CVC and the share of this channel can reach 15%, a large gain in a short period of time. But acquisitions certainly strengthen the importance of CVC to the economy and to the life of thousands of Brazilians, whether they are our employees, customers, franchisees, suppliers or other business partners in the tourism chain. Therefore, we are expanding our brand also in cities with less than 100 thousand inhabitants, in various parts of Brazil.

A new phase of transport in Porto Alegre

New buses, new visual identification, new way to purchase tickets. The new system of public transportation in Porto Alegre that went into operation in 2016 presents to the more than 1 million 400 thousand inhabitants of the capital changes that aim to qualify the service offered. The system is the result of the bidding of public transport in Porto Alegre. At the beginning of the new operation, in February, the fleet had 1,715 buses, 12 more than in the past. Among these, 296 are new vehicles, 636 are air-conditioned and 1,010 are equipped with lifts to promote accessibility. “As the bidding states that the number of passengers per square meter should fall from six to four, over the next three years 72 new buses will enter into circulation and the expectation is that in ten years all fleet vehicles will be equipped with air -conditioned”, explains Gustavo Simionovski, technical manager of the Association of Passenger Conveyors from Porto Alegre (ATP). Another change brought by the new system, which had an estimated investment of R$ 120 million, was the extension from three to four consortiums divided in six areas and complemented by Carris, the public transport company of the city. The two previous public

tenders predicted bus lines divided in three areas. According to the transportation director of the Public Transport Company (EPTC), Maria Cristina Molina Moreira, with the new distribution by areas, there was a reorganization of the routes and the adoption of the use of specific colors for each region served. “In order to allow the user to easily identify their destination, we adopted the blue color for the routes circulating in the North Region, green for East Region, red for the South Region, and yellow for those circular and transverse routes served by Carris”, she explains. According to Simionovski, the popular participation was a great advantage in the process of renewal of the system. “Listening to users was important to insert in the tender bidding those requirements that helped to balance the needs of users to the real system”, he says. Maria Cristina believes the public bid of the new system also represented advances concerning the operation sustainability. “All new buses are equipped with Euro V engines, therefore they are less polluting. The public bid also included the suitability of companies on the correct disposal of waste resulting from the maintenance of the vehicles”, she added. In total there will be 21 representatives, 17 representatives of society and four of the Thematic Chamber of Traffic Transportation. Advance tickets Another change resulting from the new system, provided in the bidding documents and developed along with the EPTC and by new transport companies, is the possibility to purchase tickets in advance through Internet in the modalities Early Pass and School. “This was an old demand and is an important issue because in addition to system responsiveness it provides user convenience”, says Simionovski. Such tickets are accepted on all buses from Porto Alegre, “jitneys”, on the train and on buses from Canoas and Esteio integrated to the rail system. According to EPTC, it is estimated that once the new form of acquisition of public transport credits is deployed, about 950 thousand users will benefit.

How to survive the challenges of public transportation

henever we talk about the loss of demand on public transport by bus what has become frequent in the last 12 years - there are many different ratings on the reasons and on the blamed for this decline of passengers. There are those who assign the blame to low quality of service; there are those who point the finger to the poor management of companies and there are those who say that the buses are old, that they not work anymore. In addition, there is the economic crisis in the country, which permeates all the alternatives. This year the industry was surprised by a drop in demand outside the customary levels, on average of 2% per year. In the most recent survey done by NTU (until March 2016) the loss was 4.1% of the total passengers. Even if these numbers would cause confusion and fear for the future of transport, it is not possible to see an only alternative to justify such a framework. Those who follow the performance of public transport in Brazil, such as NTU, know that it is still very difficult to deliver a service that meets, especially, the need to take

the passenger to their destination, in the shortest time possible, and at a cost commensurate with the budget. And they also know that good public transport is more expensive. They also know that the economic crisis should not prevent citizens to have better mobility conditions or allow the loss of life quality. But for that it is urgent for the country to resume investments, even if gradually. And the services cannot be defrayed only from the value of the fare. This is the main issue. In order to solve such an issue, NTU is already committed to the

Constitution and exposes the urgent need to provide the public transport of a financial cushion, able to afford the quality of service that people want and deserve. There is no need to be neither an expert in the area nor an economist to understand that while this service is supported by fare, as it is at the moment, the sector will continue in this stranglehold, being pointed as solely responsible for the demand loss. Such demand, as we know, is directly linked to a number of factors that require improvements: prioritizing

Fortunately, with the approval of a proposed amendment to the Constitution (PEC 90/2011) by Mrs Luiza Erundina (PSB/SP), in September 2015, the sector found a strong argumentation to advocate the creation of a source of own resources to finance public transport. The proposal considers the service a social right, enshrined in the

The result of a long negotiation conducted in partnership with Scania, an agreement for the supply of 295 new vehicles to Ghana, in Africa, was closed. The buses were purcha sed by the Ministry of Transport and are intended for urban passenger transport in Accra, capital of the co untry, and for intercity transpo rt. According to Ricardo Portolan, Marcopolo’s export manager, this is an important business for the company. “The provision is one of the largest volumes of sales in export in a single purchase and is the result of the various actions of the company to seek new business abroad. The attractiveness of the Marcopolo proposal, both about products and after-sales services, was fundamental to close the deal. The production of the buses

has already started and will be completed this year. We are glad to be part of this project, which will contribute to improve the mobility of people in Ghana”, says the businessman. Among the 295 bus, 245 are Viale models with Scania k250 UB 4x2 chassis and will be used in the Accra BRT system for urban passenger transport. The remaining 50 units are three different coach models (Paradiso 1200, Viaggio 1050 and Ideale) and will be used in routes between cities. The new fleet aims to offer new vehicles which are modern, safe and comfortable, in order to improve urban mobility in the country. Marcopolo Viale BRT model has low floor and is the most modern bus produced in Brazil. It incorporates, among other technologies, rear engine with low

emissions of polluting gases and automatic gear change. The larger internal width, associated to the seats configuration, provides a wide free area and facilitates the movement of passengers, making the trip more comfortable. With greater internal height, it allows the inclusion of efficient air ducts, speakers and space for advertisement on the upper side. Viale has a robust and extremely reliable design, a status that was conquered through the people who use it and is a product with excellent cost/benefit, attribute recognized by the sector’s businessmen in the urban passenger transport. M er cad o V e r - o -Peso Located on the shores of the bay of Guajára, the Ver-o-Peso is considered the largest open air markets in Latin America. Its origin dates from 1625 when it was known as the home of Haver-o-peso (check the weight), where the Portuguese Crown used to check products brought to Belém, weighting the goods to calculate the taxes to be paid.

It is part of an architectural and landscape complex that occupies an area of 35 000 m². It is the most famous island of the archipelago that has the same name, formed by 13 cities and approximately three thousand islands. It is among the largest sea-fluvial islands in the world: it has more than 40 square kilometers, an area equivalent to the size of Switzerland or Netherlands. It is located west of the mouth of the Amazon River, on the banks of Pará River and the Atlantic Ocean. Far 90 km from Belém, you only can get there by plane or boat. The Camará port, located at the southern tip of the municipality Salvaterra, is the main entry point to Marajó Island. Those tourists who visit the island can witness the Pororoca, as it is called the formation of waves caused by the meeting of the waters of the Amazon River to the Atlantic Ocean, a scenario that invites the adventurous to surfing. The major attraction of the island is the buffaloes. These animals are used for transport, inspiration of the marajoara (from Marajó) craft and also to make the typical dish of the region.

Faith of millions Performed for more than two centuries, the Círio de Nazaré is one of the largest and most beautiful catholic processions in Brazil and the world. It gathers, each year, about two million pilgrims on a journey of faith through the streets of the capital of the state, a grandiose spectacle in honor of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré (Our Lady of Nazareth), patron saint of Pará. The procession leaves the Belém Metropolitan Cathedral and follows a path of 3.6 km to Praça Santuário de Nazaré, where the image of the Virgin is exposed for veneration of the faithful for 15 days, a period called quadra de nazarena. Capixaba Force VitoriaMar was born from the union between the experiences of Alfredo Flach, Luiz Guilherme Ramiro da Silva and Robson Copetti in 2009. The three partners are the heads of the representative for the bus body sales and original pieces Marcopolo in Espírito Santo, which since its beginning sold over two thousand units. Headquartered in the Viana district, which is part of the metropolitan area of Vitória, the representative also provides Technical Assistance and has an office area, parts store, a 1,000 square meter structure for assistance and an adequate yard for the handling and parking of buses and other vehicles. “The focus of our work is to suggest the best solutions and meet the specific needs of each client. The result is the loyalty of customers of different sizes and segments as well as the increase of Marcopolo market presence in the region”, explains Alfredo Flach adding that participation in the road segment reaches 92%. The team consists of 22 professionals, 60% of them dedicated to the provision of after-sales services and technical assistance, who also actively participate in training developed by suppliers of equipment and components used in the bus bodies with air conditioning, elevators and electronic dashboard. “Thus, the Marcopolo customer is sure that the bus is safe and that the teams are trained to maintain the standard of quality”, points out Luiz Guilherme. A strong feature of the transport segment in the region is the specialization in tourism, both shopping and leisure. This means that there is investment in products that are

customized and of high added value. “Differentiation is considered an important factor to meet a user profile with high standards that in his travels prioritizes new and modern vehicles, also taking into account the quality of service and competitive fares”, said Robson adding that the presence of corporations like Vale, Siderúrgica Tubarão, Petrobrás and Garoto increases the demand for executive charter in the region. Nevertheless, as is the case throughout the rest of the country, the unstable political and economic situation makes the Capixaba market give signs of slowing down. “In recent months we identified a decrease in this segment. Even large companies have made adjustments to their charter contracts, reducing the number of buses used to transport their employees”, said Luiz Guilherme. To circumvent the momentary effects of retracted demand and austerity experienced by companies, contacts with customers is considered essential. The relationship marked by proximity to the customer and the force of the after-sales service puts Marcopolo products in evidence in the Espírito Santo bus market, creating favorable opportunities for new business. “The challenges are many and we are working to overcome them. Furthermore, we maintain confidence in the economic recovery so that we can surpass the targets”, concludes Flach.
